WOW!!!! Just saw leaked images for the Advent Calendar on reddit. The calendar has gotten a major upgrade in quality. The daily gifts actually require building! There are no mini-dolls in this year's calendar, which is a bummer, but the daily builds are far more substantial than they have been in the past. Hmmm....another observation on the Advent Calendar. It seems that each daily build is meant to be an ornament, which is probably why there are no mini-dolls included.

if you search "instagram lego leaks", you should find them. They show the back of the box. The image is much clearer than the previously leaked photo, but the image is not that large. You can certainly make out more details than before, but official images will be much better when they are released.

Reddit discord now has full images of the Pirate roller coaster. These are more clear than the one that has been out for several weeks. It is clear enough to see the two alternate builds. Reddit discord also has clear images of the new yacht, which I love! The new Creator images (as well as Ninjago) are also up on instagram...with the usual suspects.

Wow! This looks amazing! But I'm surprised we get yet another color of the new track system. The Joker Manor has purple. The mining set and new Pirate Coaster set uses grey. And now this in red. I love the color scheme for this set, and think it will contrast the Ferris Wheel and Carousel nicely. Just surprised to see this additional color.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
wooster replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I love this series, so much that it's the first one that I set out to collect. But I have a problem. I just bought 3 packs from a Walmart in Ohio. All three were severely lacking pieces. Spider boy did not have an orange base or legs. I got party girl and cake boy, they had the wrong color legs, missing balloon (and cake, respectively), and a few other missing pieces. Has anyone else experienced problems with this series in regards to packs missing pieces? I contacted Lego about this, and they are going to replace the problem packs. So all is well as far as I'm concerned. Just curious what others are finding. -
I just saw the photo. What does this imply? Are they going to sell roller coaster track packs for $15.00?

The reference was to "seats". Where in Harry Potter are "seats" important? The Great Hall is one such place as there are seats at the dining tables, and we already know we are getting a Great Hall set this summer. Where else are seats an important element to the site or scene? Trains!!!! "small straw to clutch at" indeed. But there are pages and pages of discussion and speculation on this site predicated on much smaller straws than this :)

Have you guys been following the "Harry Potter 2018 Rumors and Discussion" thread? There's a guy on there that claims to be a Lego designer that worked on the Harry Potter sets. His forum name is Nabii. He is answering some of the questions there regarding the recently revealed HP sets. Look on pages 77 and 78 for his comments. Very interesting answers (assuming you believe this guy/girl is legit). Anyhow, below is a question he answered in regards to the minifig legs that might be relevant to our train discussion. Could he be referencing train seats in that last sentence? "- How did you choose to make "child variants" of the kids? Was it to save space or to reach another audience (because they look soooo adorable!)?" This was a huge discussion in the design team- some of us wanted full sized legs, others wanted kids legs as in the first couple of movies they were definitely kids. And it was not to save space or anything, it actually introduced all kinds of challenges about how to let them 'sit' at tables and in seats and things. (I almost talked about other sets there... sneaky fans!)

Don't bother. They are the same images, just a little larger and more resolution. They don't provide any more details, other than that you can see them a little more clearly. I am really concerned that the passenger train looks very awkward in the leaked image, with an abrupt yellow nose. I realize these are preliminary images. I am hoping the finished model looks more refined. But these newer high-resolution images don't provide any newer details.

I think @icemorons got it right when he said it looks most like an EP-5. Although you can't tell easily in this photo, the EP-5 is a double-headed engine.

I like the nose of the cargo train. It reminds me of the F7 or EMD E6 style noses and typical of many American-style diesel engines. Is it a single solid nose mold? Or is it a brick-build nose? I'm hoping for the latter so that I can mod my own proper F7.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wooster replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
This newly revealed building is 16 studs wide. So if you mod the height to fit with the rest of the modulars, it could compensate for the 48-stud wide Assembly Square. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wooster replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Has anyone done a brick count on the modulars versus this newly revealed building? How many bricks tall are they? The new building looks closer to the recent Creator 3 in 1 buildings (Bike Shope and Cafe, for example) than the modulars. I would guess that this new building is probably somewhere in between the two series. It will probably be difficult to put this with the modulars, even if you mod the sides....it's too small. Unless someone can inform us about the heights of each (which I'm too lazy to do) and confirm that the new building is close or similar to the height of the modulars. -
There is also a leaked image of the Ideas 'Ship in a Bottle' set.

Since the PIrate Roller Coaster is a 3 in 1, we might get 3 new rides in one set. I will probably buy 3 copies so I can have all three built simultaneously.

Is it too much to ask that a moderator would answer this question? Surely they all know the answer. Will there be a Winter Village competition this year?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wooster replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Go to page 215 on this topic. You will see the leaked photos. The next 15 pages (to this point) over the past few days have been speculation as to the authenticity of this photo. -
Regardless of your feelings towards City and the overwhelming number of police officers they seem to have, it can't be denied that this line always has an excellent RV or camper set. For several years now, they have been just perfect.

Yes, if the leaked photos are accurate and true, then the new bear is a black version of the brown bear found in Forest Police Station (4440) from back in 2012. At least they look identical in all aspects but color, to my eye.

Lego has a new Christmas ornament posted on its Shop at Home website. It's a new bauble with a snowman. I love these ornaments! Also, in the US, there are 4 other baubles on sale for 75% off (only $2 instead of the usual price of $8). Oddly, the new Christmas bauble doesn't come up under the category of 'Seasonal'. You have to search for 'bauble' or 'ornament' to find it.

Some have commented that this set will only appeal to those who already have the train, and thus sales may flounder. I actually think the opposite will happen. There will be many who see this set, and buy both this and the train from last year (which is still available, obviously) to create a complete train scene to their Christmas display.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wooster replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I've heard one of the Lego designers (Jamie Beard, I think) discuss the difficulty in doing this due to different parts used today. For example, the first modular buildings used doors that are 1x4x5, but now those door frames are 1x4x6. So it would require a significant redesign. Not impossible, I guess, but Jamie seemed to suggest it was highly unlikely. But in general, I agree that Lego would make a fortune off of a "Legacy Theme" which re-issued older sets. I'm all for it. I missed out on the Emerald Night train, Harry Potter, and the older Pirates of the Carribean sets. I would love to own some of those. -
In this video, go to 17:45 to hear the bit about the large Christmas model that is being designed. He actually says that the model will be out in December. So I don't think he is referring to a Winter Village model. I think it is some other theme that will just happen to be released in December.

It depends on how big those road pieces are. They appear to be equivalent to 32x32 studs (although it's clear they have no studs on them). It also appears that they might match up perfectly with the existing road plates for sale, in terms of the width of the road versus the curb. If that's the case, then I might give them a try. As others have said, if they are cardboard, they won't last long in my house. We had several of the other cardboard play mats (Friends Heartlake City) and it was quickly degraded to rubbage. And finally, I suppose those 2x2 squares in the corner of each road piece is so that actual bricks can be inserted, thus providing some point for Lego bricks and plates to be mated with the road pieces.
