  1. The LEGO Group has been pushing hard to get into the Chinese market, hence these Chinese New Year and Monkey Kid sets. So there is a sales motive behind this theme too. I'm not saying Mexico isn't a market that should be targeted, but obviously China is a bigger one.
  2. The October calendar has been released. The GWPs relate to Mindstorm. While the new WV Elf Clubhouse will be available on October 1, we won't get any new Christmas-related GWP at that time.
  3. One of the problems with having two WV sets at one time is production capacity. That has been discussed previously by LEGO employees. Although I'm sure LEGO is expanding its capacity to produce sets, it has been made clear that they have a limit on how many can be produced at any one time. Even if it's a re-release, and no design work is necessary, the parts have to be manufactured and assembled. At the time the Toy Shop was re-released, in the wake of the outrage by many in the LEGO community, one of the lead LEGO designers was quoted saying that if they didn't re-relase this old set, there would not have been a WV set that year. It was either re-relase or nothing. I would not hold my breath waiting for another re-release, and especially I would not expect two WV sets in one year.
  4. The current road plates have their issues, but they are relatively cheap. I wonder how much this new system will cost to cover the same approximate area as the current road plate (32x32)? They look expensive in terms of parts. Also, and very important for many AFOLs, how will this new system work with the Modular buildings constructed on a baseplate?
  5. The name for the set Holiday Camper is a bit ambiguous. In the US, that name evokes a Christmas-themed camper. But I guess in Europe the word 'holiday' would imply a vacation more than it does Christmas. Is that right? So I'm guessing this is going to be more of the European sense of the word, a 'vacation camper'?
  6. Stores in Cleveland and Columbus (Ohio, USA) are both open. The Cleveland store was much more inviting. You could go in, shop around as usual. If you wanted a PAB cup, the clerk would use a large spoon to scoop the pieces in the cup for you. They put an extra scoop of whatever you want in the bag (after the cup was full) to account for the fact that you cannot stack or efficiently pack the cup. I bought a cup because they currently have 1x6 sand green bricks (yay!). In Columbus, the store was much more restrictive. They had a table set up at the door, and only allow a few people in at a time. You get put on a list and they will text you when it's your turn to enter. This particular mall also has a Legoland Discover Center with a store. So I just shopped there and bought the Ideas Treehouse (sorry Lego brand store, you didn't get my business that day). I never did enter the Lego brand store because I didn't feel like waiting, so I don't know how they handle the PAB wall. Both stores seemed well-stocked.
  7. In some of the new leaked photos today, I could see a lot of bricks that accept the connection pins at the base of each building, suggesting something could connect with the backside. It seems like this series of buildings are meant to be expanded. Sorry if this has already been covered. This thread is growing so rapidly, I can't possibly keep up.
  8. Sorry....what is AC? I'm drawing a blank on that one.
  9. IG has a leaked image of a 2021 HP set called "Quidditch Course" (translated from French). It's blurry but shows what looks like some figures flying around a section of a Hogwarts tower. I'm not guaranteeing its authenticity, but it looks promising.
  10. I think you're right. I can't discern an A-frame, but I agree it might be our first glimpse of the Winter Village set. Great catch!
  11. I don't like buying dinosaurs that never existed (Indoraptor, I-rex). So I hate that I have to buy the set with the I-rex just to get the adult ankylosaur. Otherwise that set looks great!
  12. Lego has done many sets in the Pirate and Creator themes with the "skull island" motif. This newly revealed alternative build for the pirate ship is the best in my opinion.
  13. If I recall correctly, the Christmas Tree GWP was available to VIP members the weekend before Black Friday (11/29). That's when I received my first Christmas Tree set. Also, this past year they had very large and exclusive sets on very good sales during Black Friday weekend, with different sets on sale each day of the weekend. For example, I purchased the Disney Train on one day, and Ninjago City on another day. So I ended up with 3 of those Christmas tree sets just because I had to make multiple orders on different days. So it was probably an artefact of how Lego structured their sales (in the U.S., at least).
  14. The Chinese Temple Fair is back in stock at Lego online (in the U.S.). It's listed as Backorder (as is the Lion Dance set).
  15. Wow! This looks really great. Churches and similar structures can be very difficult in Lego form, because these buildings are often very monochromatic. But your church has enough color in the windows and roof that it works really well. I also like all the textures and greebling you used. I will be plagiarizing some of your building techniques! Especially some of the elements around windows and doors. Very nice!
  16. To each his/her own. But I think this 2005 ship is lacking, and woefully underbuilt. I would like a new ship on the size and scale of the Brick Bounty (70413).
  17. I’m encouraged by this leak. Looking forward to getting better photos to discern more details.
  18. Ok, i just skimmed the previous 6 pages to find out what the flurry of activity on this board is all about. Can someone please summarize what we now know/think the HP sets will be this year?
  19. I agree 100%. Most of those interior details will never see the light of day once on display in my city.
  20. There is a leaked image of a website, as though someone did a screen shot. No photos, it's more like an inventory page, or placeholder page. But it says: Creator Expert 10270 Bookstore/Library 2504 parts 179.99 euros Sorry if this is not new, or if it has already been debunked. I just saw it for the first time.
  21. I just bought Ninjago City on sale on Black Friday. I already had the Docks. I wonder if these new Asian sets that are being released (Boat Race, for example) might someday lead to Ninjago City expansions. I know fans can mod the sets to fit with Ninjago City, but maybe LEGO will start making sets under the general Asian theme that blend seamlessly with Ninjago City (with the waterways, connecting pins, etc,).
  22. Straight from the horse's mouth...Amazon's website press release: https://press.aboutamazon.com/news-releases/news-release-details/amazons-black-friday-deals-week-almost-here-more-deals-day-and look under the toys heading
  23. The UCS Millenium Falcon will be 40% off. That has already been advertised. That's a savings of $320!!!! I feel sorry for those that paid full price for that set recently.
  24. I vote to discontinue the Trolls theme.
  25. Yeah, and the Fire Brigade flies the American flag. You could argue that a lot of the buildings are representative of European and North American styles, but the Fire Brigade, in particular, is especially American.
