  1. The recently leaked January 2019 calendar has no mention of a modular.
  2. Thanks for pointing this out. I found an even older interview with Jamie as I was looking for this one. Tons of great insight into the machinations of Lego design whenever he is interviewed. But I noticed something interesting. Just a sliver of a clue that we might be getting a police station in the modular line soon. Look at the following text quoted from Jamie: JB: "There are so many people who have made fire stations and police stations and banks that when we do a bank or a fire house there are already fifteen others where people say “I like this guy’s better” so we found that we really need to keep our game high, trying to surprise you guys. Even if it is not a new idea to do a bank, if we do one we want to surprise you with some fun and interesting ways of using the elements or maybe attaching a laundromat next to it which is something that I hope hadn’t been seen before. That’s where I think it puts a little more pressure on us to think of something fresh." This is just an excerpt from a larger quote. But it's almost as though he accidentally included 'police station' with fire station and bank. Is this a clue? Is Police Station next?
  3. The harvester looks like it wants to be a corn harvester. But in relation to the minifigure in the same image, it looks way too small. Its scale is more like a riding lawn mower. That's disappointing. I was looking forward to a proper piece of farm equipment.
  4. This is fantastic! They say imitation is the best form of flattery....that said...I'm going to try to imitate this and build one for my amusement park.
  5. Yeah, that was my thought too. These supplemental and complementary builds could go in the Creator line. I think they would be more 'substantial' if in the Creator line. Sometimes the City sets look small and junior-ized compared to Creator. And to be honest, City has been doing this within the City theme. The City cargo set had a snowmobile that matched the Arctic subtheme. And the large City center set also had some nods to the Arctic subtheme. So it's not as though Lego has never done this sort of crossover idea in their sets. But it would be great to see it in the Creator modular series too.
  6. I just saw the new November 2018 calendar on the Lego website. I was very disappointed that there are no 'gifts with purchase' mentioned, or other seasonal sets aside from the Winter Village Fire Station. I was hoping to see some new polybags, or other small gifts that might be available this holiday season. Are my expectations wrong? Should we not be seeing new gifts with purchase and other seasonal sets in November?
  7. What is the blue scooter thing? Is it supposed to be a scooter? A shopping cart? A child's pretend car? BTW, I love everything about this set...just curious about that blue thing.
  8. Rumors from Instagram say the new Winter Village set is $109.99 US, and 1225 pieces.
  9. I saw those too. Note to others, there are four images there, you just need to hit the arrow over (at least in the original post by aakos12). Anyhow, are these images of the next Winter Village set? Or are these images of some sort of GWP? The third photo looks like the interior of a building. Anyhow, I love the tree (as much as you can see it), hate the snowman (as usual), but can't wait to see the next set!
  10. Who said anything about dragging around an unpowered motor? I said one of the engine cars was motorized, and one was not. And there were three passenger cars between them. So one motorized and powered car, and 4 non-powered. I'm not sure why you typed half a page to explain that dragging a car with a non-powered motor would cause a lot more drag. You even went as far as to measure this effect. Thank you for quantifying the obvious.
  11. I doubled up 60051, and it ran with no problem. You could sense a little more drag on the motor, but it still ran nicely. I'm not sure how long it would run compared to a single set. And to be clear, I took a second set of 60051 and converted it into 2 more passenger cars. So by doubling the set, what I actually ended up with was two of the "engine" cars with the pointy nose and three passenger cars. Only one of the "engine" cars was actually motorized.
  12. So an American brand car might alienate non-Americans. And an Asian brand car might alienate non-Asians. I don't agree with the logic, but let's go with it. So why would a European brand car appeal to everyone? Would it not alienate non-Europeans? Are you assuming European brands are universally loved while other regional brands are offensive to rest of the world?
  13. Just went on Bricklink and ordered more red windows (1x4x3) so I can expand and add additional HE passenger cars.
  14. This was my first thought too. It needs to be a bit longer. I compared the new HE to the actual locomotive in the movies, and it's really amazing how many of the details on the real loco are incorporated into this new version. But I do think it could be a few studs longer. I'll probably buy 2 sets so that I have multiple passenger cars, and enough pieces to stretch the locomotive 3 to 4 studs longer.
  15. If I'm not mistaken, the coveted train windows are included in the passenger car.
  16. I've seen the leaked images of a new Hogwarts Express!!!!! We are getting yet another train this year! And there will be a train station (probably separate) to go with it! Check the usual suspects on Instagram.
  17. Instagram has a new Christmas train posted (30543). I'm not sure if it's legit to post the image, so I'll refrain from doing so for now and let everyone find it themselves with Google. Don't get too excited...it's a poly bag. But it looks really good for what it is.
  18. Wow! I wonder if those vehicles that come with the freight train are meant to ride on the tracks as they are displayed in the leaked photos? The passenger train looks a LOT different than I expected based on the older grainy leaked photos. To me, both trains look stubbier than I expected, although that might be an illusion caused by the camera lens or angle of the photo. I'm looking forward to seeing the official photos to see these trains from all sides.
  19. This looks fantastic! Except for the basketball hoop. I really hate the scale of that hoop piece, it is so far out of proportion to everything else.
  20. The base is exactly 100 studs long (I counted), which should be about 79 cm. So the 88 cm must include the overhang at the top of the coaster.
  21. Google "instagram legoleaks". You'll see what looks like a poster or magazine cover with a minifig on a dirt bike. In the corner you'll see a drawing of a train, and as @dimaks13 pointed out, a photo of the train behind the dirt bike. I never noticed the photo until it was pointed it out to me.
  22. Instagram and reddit have a pic of a poster, not sure if it's a leaked image or not, but it shows the new green train. It's only a drawing, and doesn't provide much more information than we already know from previously leaked images of the actual set. But assuming it's an accurate drawing of the new green train, it shows that it will have front couplers and few other details.
  23. Notice the map on the bottom right-hand corner of the Rollercoaster. It shows the Rollercoaster, Ferris Wheel, and Carousel. It does not include the Mixer. I have always felt the mixer seemed out of place with the Ferris Wheel and Carousel. It feels more like a carnival ride than a permanent amusement park ride. This map seems to confirm my speculation. Well, at least it justifies me not having bought the Mixer
  24. In my experience (U.S.), trains of cars are far more common on rollercoasters than single cars. I have no statistics, just my observation at numerous amusement parks in the United States.
  25. On the Tangled sets, what does "Build and Swap" imply? Is this going to be a feature similar to the 'modular' Creator houses? Nevermind, I see that was answered above.
