  1. Sounds like an endorsement for a line of Elder Scrolls themes LEGO sets, and I'm with you. Never played an Elder Scrolls game, but I know a lot about it and would welcome the theme happily.
  2. I loved Thundercats (both versions) and would love to see it return in one form or another. I actually really enjoy Teen Titans Go, but I do agree that the original Teen Titans cartoon was very good. I'm so happy with the new reboot of Voltron (despite only minor failings), and would love to see other series from my childhood re-emerge. We already mentioned Thundercats, but also Silverhawks, He-Man (which I am currently re-watching), and other such shows. I was a big fan of both Ewoks and Droids when I was younger, but I know those won't be brought back. They won't even give R2-D2 and C-3PO worthwhile parts in the sequel trilogy. As much as I loved G.I. Joe and Transformers when I was a kid, I'm not too interested in them now, though I did enjoy G.I. Joe: Renegades. Nor am I interested in what they're doing with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise (which has so much more potential). I'd love it if some fan that, like me, grew up with these cartoons made a really cool modern and mature animated series that reflected the best elements of these series and franchises from the 80s and 90s. I think that I'd prefer that to a reboot, if done well.
  3. 1) I am not much interested in the Old Republic era of Star Wars. I never played the Knights of the Old Republic games, which is probably my loss, but I did briefly play The Old Republic MMO and really disliked it. I am, however, a bit biased as I was an avid player of the previous MMO, Star Wars: Galaxies, which was fantastic. As such, I always relate the cries for Old Republic stories to fandom for The Old Republic MMO. That's not a positive connection to make. That said, it could be enjoyable to watch. I didn't expect to enjoy The Clone Wars, but it was much better than the concept would imply. 2) I have no interest in seeing backstory that could (should) have been included by now in the sequel trilogy. I think they shied away from this in the sequels because it was a maligned element of the prequels and they were consciously avoiding making those mistakes again. Still, it would be interesting to actually see the New Republic governing body of this era, as they have only been shown getting destroyed at the end of The Force Awakens. 3) I am not interested in watching a series about how Luke became not-Luke. I'd prefer to see Luke build his Jedi Temple, and end the series somewhere satisfying before the incident with Ben Solo. The prospect of keeping Mark Hamill employed is always nice, though, and he is an excellent voice actor. Overall though, I'd prefer to see something else entirely. I'm not one to lament the loss of the Expanded Universe into the non-canon Legends, but perhaps some of the best Legends could be made into one-offs, or into an anthology series. I know, that's wishful thinking, and not everyone will agree on what was good and what was bad. For example, I don't care much for the post-ROTJ Legends materials and Yuuzhan Vong invasion My girlfriend, however, loathes the fact that Mara Jade has not been brought into canon. I enjoyed things like Shadows of the Empire, the Thrawn trilogy, and the Legacy Era, and those would be interesting to see. Also, stories about Boba Fett are always popular. Similarly, I enjoyed the Darth Maul comic books, at one point dealing with the Black Sun criminal organization. It's tough to consider new ideas in the Star Wars IP. There are so many ways it can be done poorly, but also many ways to do it really well that I wonder if Disney is ready to try. If The Last Jedi wasn't a Skywalker Saga film, and with a few tweaks to what is possible through the force, I would have enjoyed it much more. It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward with Johnson venturing into new territory, and with Filoni taking on something new. I honestly still haven't found the time for Rebels, but I know that I can be interested in things beyond the ordinary in Star Wars. It's a vast galaxy. Maybe the best thing is to separate ourselves from the current timeline and focus on a different area. I personally think that Johnson may be taking us into the Unknown Regions for his trilogy. I actually fear it, because I don't want to watch him butcher my expectations of what that could be like.
  4. True, they do tend to create things for an older audience that are expensive one-off sets. That doesn't have to be the case. As I've said, even Big Bang themes are targeting a higher age range than Castle, City, or any standard evergreen theme. Also, they regularly release Architecture sets for a higher age range as well. Based on those ideas, creating a wave of Castle sets that target the upper age ranges with complex builds, high quality packaging (they do this with Architecture and Ideas because it ostensibly appeals to older collector types), and slightly more mature design is a completely feasible concept. It could work. And creating sets from as low as $10 - $15 to as high as $200+ with maybe 10 sets a year would give everyone an opportunity to participate rather than just those who can afford the big D2C set. Ultimately, I think that's what I'd really like to see. And to be honest, I think it's the best way to create some future thing that is like those things from the past, because it creates something that appeals to the grown up versions of those past children who enjoyed the Castle sets of the 80s & 90s.
  5. Heads up...
  6. If so, the torso would not be transparent, nor would the hips or hands.
  7. I disagree. Futurama is no more or less adult than the Simpsons. I disagree. The Simpsons is a family television show, and I've watched it with my family since I was 10 (and I have 3 younger siblings who watched with us). Also, I don't mind LEGO taking on more mature themes and ideas and targeting an audience of 16+ (as they do with some sets). Something like Game of Thrones is probably too far, but the Simpsons and Futurama are just fine. As mentioned above, South Park is a bit too far as well.
  8. No bangs.
  9. There's nothing wrong with targeting this audience, and LEGO does this all the time. There are many great sets in the Creator Expert range, and even Ninjago and Nexo Knights target a higher age range than Castle traditionally targets. While they will never go fully mature, they can issue sets that will appeal to that demographic.
  10. The opposite is true for me. While I agree that regular series are hit or miss, licensed series are more often miss.
  11. I'd say it's comparable, and I would still be proud that my efforts resulted in an official LEGO set based on my idea.
  12. The track will appear in a few places, but yes, I really hope it will show up as well.
  13. I really like how Groot looks. And I love how the gauntlet looks. I will probably try to get that gauntlet and gems to put on my other Thanos, as I like that Thanos design better.
  14. A couple images of the piece in question, for those wondering:
  15. Sounds like what you really want is a really good ship set.
  16. Yes.
  17. They do not have such a rule, and have chosen a second project from a designer in the past.
  18. I hope so, too. Still, I want a big Robot Voltron surrounded by the Lions if they all look good.
  19. Hopefully I won't have to spend too much on the secondary market for the Indoraptor, then.
  20. I certainly don't look past the minidolls, and have yet to purchase an Elves set. That said, if I find this one at a good value it might be worth the purchase, and I'll just give the minidolls to my niece.
  21. How much is the Indoraptor set going to cost? The dinosaur looks really good, and it's probably the one I want most.
  22. Having seen my niece's Naida's Epic Adventure Ship (41073), I'd say that it is definitely a nice set. It has an interesting building style and color scheme. That would be one of my top Elves sets.
  23. The only ones I want but don't yet have are Jor-El, Merbat, and the Dolphin, but there are a few more I wouldn't mind. I'd be more interested in the Disco characters if they were all more readily available, but sticking a bunch in that really expensive set was cost prohibitive so I'm not going to collect those.
