  1. Trust me, many of us have definitely been doing this. I've seen s glut of great new parts, and I've ordered several of them off BrickLink and Bricks & Pieces. Lots of great visors, pyramids, and pentagonal tiles. It hasn't disappointed on that front, and several minifigures have been worthwhile. I'll be doing that regardless of what comes next. It should be interesting just to see what happens. I'm glad I've entertained others.
  2. I guess it's possible, but I would much rather see a Castle theme. That said, it would probably provide a decent number of useful minifigure parts and other pieces. Other builders might be into the dragons, which I would assume to be brick built.
  3. Nice little build! I actually prefer it with the original propeller. Great part usage all around. That anchor is hidden nicely.
  4. Fair enough. That's an interesting perspective. I was wondering how a drummer might react to it.
  5. I love my Old Fishing Store. I'm still building it. Every time I watch a movie at home, I get through another bag. I'm on the last one! I bought it because I love the design, and it's a great set, but also because it has great parts. I like what I'm building so much, I'm going to wish I had bought 2 when it comes time to break it down. Maybe I will...
  6. I enjoyed both, but agree that Ragnarok was the better movie. Up there with my favorite movies of 2017: Blade Runner 2049 & 47 Meters Down. Still want to check out Logan, I, Tonya, The Shape of Water, and Mother!, among a few others from last year.
  7. I think the intent is to get a faithful update of a classic minifigure. The CMF Sheriff is not a faithful update of the pictured Sheriff: To make a faithful update of the minifigure on the right, the one on the left should have been wearing mostly grey with black pants and a red bow tie. Updated to modern standards, of course, but faithful to the classic. So printing a belt and holster would be appropriate, as would using the newer cowboy hat and mustache molds. The mustache should have been black, however, and the hat grey... I'd like to see updated versions of classic characters myself. I consider the Forestman to work well on this level as it is pretty faithful to the original, while being a more generic color in place of the black / blue / red. A shield with a Stag would have been nice to complete the look, but they eventually gave one to the Elf, so I suppose that's OK. I don't consider the Black Falcon minifigure from the Kingdoms line to be a good update, however, because they made his accent color green rather than the blue or yellow of the classic. He does have gold accents as well, which could be representative of the yellow, but they are mostly hidden under his armor or in the saddle. It's primarily the feather that bothers me. The shield is great in this case, though. And that's probably my favorite barding. Classic minifigure reissues like the Policeman are nice, though. I like the homage to the original LEGO minifigure. But perhaps he should have been in a polybag with a mini build of his car rather than the CMF series. Still, I'd love a series of 16 Classic Spacemen in colors that were never available. How about dark purple? Dark turquoise? Dark red? Or other non-dark colors like magenta...
  8. Sploosh! Those are some really nice ideas you've had. They work well. And yes, these minifigures are providing us with a lot of pieces, if we can stretch our minds to accommodate them.
  9. Last night I watched The Departed, which I found to be very enjoyable to watch.
  10. Looking forward to giving this a try!
  11. Only the guy with the racecar has a visor.
  12. The last movies I watched were The Fan, Kiss the Girls, The Rover, and Whiplash. I'll skip talking about the older 2 movies, but they were good. The Rover was great. Very interesting. I would never have recognized the 2 leads had I not been told who they were. Fantastic performances. Whiplash was brilliant. Much different from other music-based movies. The performances were fantastic, and J. K. Simmons definitely deserved the praise he got for his role. Also, just great jazz.
  13. The orange bases are an interesting choice for this series. I don't mind them, considering this is an anniversary celebration and not just a standard series. I hope they return to the typical black bases for future series.
  14. I don't like the shield as much as others, but I will still probably get 2. I don't care for the cartoonish representation of the spider, and the cat is a bit overdone. I don't mind the elephant suit. The dragon is fantastic.
  15. It would be really cool if it was just studs. If so, it makes it much easier to decorate and use the cake piece as a cake.
  16. Dont forget the black bear! Nice list!
  17. I would have preferred the Elephant Suit include a tail rather than a tutu, but glad it's only the skirt part of the outfit. The new mouse is nice. I will need the Birthday Cake Guy for the Cake piece. I will need the Flower Pot Girl for the various plant pieces and pot. I like the little minifigure packets, and would like at least one. The same can be said for the balloon animals. Those look great. The Cactus Girl is good and I will want at least one. The Cowboy Suit Guy is interesting, and I may end up with one. The Blue Unicorn Knight is good. I'd like to see the print on the torso before making a final decision, but I'll probably get at least one or two for the shields. The Dragon Suit Guy is the best minifigure in the series by far, and better than most in other series. I will need several. All the others are OK.
  18. Maybe they are having trouble moving the product. Or maybe it's just a sale.
  19. I'd love a complete reboot of Babylon 5, to be honest. Great series.
  20. I agree that Hogwarts colors should be more realistic. Dark tan with dark grey rooftops would be much better. I expect the old traditional colors though.
  21. It certainly looks that way. I just with they had made them 2 x 4 instead so that the costume would cover their heads. Easier to build into a wall that way...
  22. I wasn't really talking about the mammoth, but OK. Now that you bring it up though, the mammoth would be great for general fantasy builds.
  23. Looks like I missed a page when I said that. It's interesting, that's for sure. Love Primus, now I'm reconsidering my interest...
