Oh absolutely. My point is that a true Castle theme shouldn't have crazy vehicles.

What would you like for the next Castle line?
x105Black replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This sounds like something completely different from a Castle theme. -
I don't mind fantasy elements and fantasy factions, but I don't really care for things like this: The designs of these things are a little over the top for me. I also don't like the oversized swords. That said, I can really appreciate the colors used in all of these images. And I wouldn't mind seeing an updated troll bigfig.

I agree. I can't imagine an Elves set competing against this anyways, as I'm sure the designs would be vastly different. This project is already quite a bit different from the previous Elves treehouse. -
LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

The most prequel moment in The Last Jedi was BB-8 controlling that AT-AT. -
That's fair. I might have to give that a try.

This is true. And when it becomes all about the characters and story from known lore, it starts to feel like a licensed set. -
Future Action and Adventure Themes

Same here. Even if they are in the public domain, it would feel like a licensed theme... -
I tried to register there, but I keep getting this message when I try to log in: "The specified username is currently inactive. If you have problems activating your account, please contact a board administrator." I don't know how to contact an administrator, so I just keep trying to log in every once in a while...

LEGO Ideas Discussion

If I had been going there more actively, that would have gotten my vote. Alas, I have been there very rarely over the last few months. I'm still waiting to see TRON and Voltron! -
Saw some great new pictures of the minifigures and the most recent 2 dinosaurs, which leads me to believe they will all appear together in a Jurassic Park set. Either way, everything looks so good.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
x105Black replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have to give LEGO credit. The way they design the villains here makes multiple torso designs fit well with the single legs that they've created. One more of each could shake things up a lot. If they do create a "General" character, those parts should work well if swapped with the torsos or legs that already exist. Normally, I don't like the emphasis on full body printing, but I have to appreciate the way that these are so interchangeable and work so well together.- 1,601 replies

Which old TV shows would you want to see make a comeback?
x105Black replied to Steamdemon's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'd love to see it reinvented for a modern audience. But it was fantastic when I watched it years after it originally aired. -
So many things here that are great, but I love this brick.

Don't tease me like this! But seriously, that could be great.

Future Action and Adventure Themes
x105Black replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I've always thought there was something like this going on as well. I think that was a full-blown theme that ended early due to poor sales, but I may be mistaken. -
If you just take those sets as they were and release them now, yeah, probably. But thematically there's no issue. Again, Castle LEGO itself fosters interest in medieval fantasy. The Castle LEGO fans of today are the Skyrim and Game of Thrones fans of tomorrow. Exactly the issue with 2013.

I respectfully disagree.

Looks like the same one in different lighting, at a different angle.

In Memoriam: Remembering Nexo Knights
x105Black replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good riddance. I liked some of the lava monsters, and agree about the rocks. I agree, the bad guys were the best thing. Next best, new visors. Too bad they had to make them all Ice Planet visors by the end. Me too. The other best thing was new parts. The pentagonal tiles, the pyramid tiles, and some of those wedges were great. I also like the Fortrex wall panels (got some of those in black). -
Future Action and Adventure Themes
x105Black replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I disagree, because I love the classic generic themes, but crave a more subdued, less flashy color scheme. And it'd be nice if I didn't have to keep swapping the arms or other parts of my minifigures. -
I am still a huge fan of so many things from childhood. You mention MASK and Voltron, and those were huge cartoons for me. I'll add He-Man, Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, TMNT, and more to the list, because I'm still a big fan of all of this stuff. And I'll be buying 2 Voltron sets while watching the reboot on Netflix. This doesn't even touch on comic books, movies, video games, and other sources of great media from my childhood that I still love today. For example, I'd love to see The Dark Crystal, Neverending Story, Labyrinth, or similar films get sets (probably through Ideas, if at all). I'd love to see the Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, or other similar games get sets. Still, as mentioned by @fred67 above, I'd much prefer to see an entire Castle theme that is generic, and that has enough great pieces and minifigures that I can use it to represent all of those things.

Well, as I said, it would be great.

I watched Blue Ruin, which was a very interesting movie. I really enjoyed it. I also watched TRON: Legacy again. And I loved it again. Even more than the first time because I recently watched the original again. Great films.
