    I would like to see LEGO do something like Pirates of Dark Water. That would be an interesting take on the Pirates concept, and would keep it from being a rehash.

    I recently picked up a couple of these at Toys R Us. The discount on LEGO is now at 30% near me, but it's 50% off Dimensions.

    Well, the brick-built creatures are terrible, of course, but still better than I expected them to be. The molded heads are cool. It's all about the niffler for me.

    I think they should have held one of @Robenanne's projects for a later review when the Old Fishing Store is off the shelves. That would have avoided the cannibalization they were worried about...

    For those not yet aware, there is a discussion of New Pirate Themes in the Action and Adventure Themes subforum: Mostly, people are discussing how Pirates could be made into a Big Bang theme (much like Castle was with Nexo Knights).

    That's true. I guess I would prefer a Pirates theme to be aquatic in nature. Preferably, we would get a Pirates theme revolving around the Pirates and the Islanders. I'd be open to some fantasy elements in there, like a kraken, voodoo magic, or other such things. When you get to Space Pirates, it all starts to feel sci-fi, so I'd prefer to look at a theme like that from the Space angle instead.

    Very funny. I like the idea of playing around with these characters that are always directed towards children as being cute and non-threatening. Showing a darker side is a nice take. I don't typically like things that juxtapose childhood characters with violence for shock value, but in this case, it works. It's a simple shot, it's not drowning in blood, and the eyes on both characters are very expressive (or in the case of Donald, they are perfect in their lack of expression). Aside from that, the build is actually very nicely done as well. Good job!

    There is evidence of female Viking warriors and shield maidens. That much is true. However, I prefer Castle to be a little more fantasy based, so the issue of female warriors throughout history is moot in that respect.

    I understand why you feel this way, but I don't. I would prefer some sort of Neo-Classic Space with piracy, personally.

    Sexism is sexism in whatever direction it is moving. Also, it would be great to get more female minifigures in a Castle theme, and especially female knights / warriors.
