  1. If I were to join, I would play as either Pirates or Eslandola, mostly because they feel the most open to interpretation. I'd prefer to play Islanders in some form, and will likely do so somehow. Is this happening? I notice this is a relatively old thread.
  2. I wouldn't think this is true.
  3. I hope the same. I'm not going to be picking up many (if any) of the Mickey and his gang minifigures, but I would seek out characters from movies, like Jafar, Sully, Ariel, Peter Pan, and others.
  4. Perhaps it was left ambiguous, just like the stories of Vlad the Impaler. Great post, very thought provoking.
  5. It still is, as Nexo Knights isn't a Castle theme.
  6. Good point. So while it may be fun to talk about Vikings, it should probably be done in a separate topic. I hope Nexo Knights doesn't get into robo-dragon territory. It's too robo already. Maybe a dragon that they can attack with their robo-weapons.
  7. Vikings would be cool, but I'm not a fan of brick-built animals. Still, I think the sets would be nice and hopefully offer us some great parts and minifigures.
  8. So it would be their way of punishing us for figuring out how to feel for the right figures? Sounds cruel. I'd probably end up buying them on the secondary market, and since I'd likely be spending more on each minifigure that way, I'd buy less of them overall.
  9. That's quite an accurate representation of the source. Really cool black & white portrait!
  10. I really hope they wouldn't. There's nothing fun about opening up a minifigure you expect to love and instead getting something you have no interest in or getting yet another duplicate because the parts all feel the same.
  11. That looks like a Chima castle, considering the overt animal motif. A medieval Cat's Lair from Thundercats.
  12. I would be all for it. They did a brick-built Dragon in the Creator line, so it's not unfeasible to do Castle concepts there. Personally, I'm hoping for Expert level builds.
  13. You have no idea how many of those I would buy. That's one of my all-time favorite scenes in cinema. That would be a real army-building wallet-emptier for me. I highly doubt we'll get it, but you just made me so excited at the possibility.
  14. Currently, there actually is a shortage. When I go to the LEGO Store, I see no traditional Castle stuff (save a few remaining Hobbit sets). Nexo Knights will actually be very likely to impede the development of anything further in this area during its lifetime. Of course, that's an assumption. They might just have a new line of Castle sets in 2017 that fit that perfectly. And yes, there will likely be something to complain about with those sets, because nothing's perfect and we all have ideas for how to improve them. I disagree. There is little to nothing that appeals to a traditional castle fan in the Nexo Knights theme. Having said that, I may pick up a few things once I see the final designs, but it will likely be through BrickLink or some other aftermarket where I can find the very few pieces that appeal to me because I think most of the sets are laughable. Nexo Knights is great for people who are into that kind of thing (Action themes / Sci-fi Fantasy hybrids). I just don't call it Castle and would really like to see something that I'm into. The biggest complaint I've seen is that this is (as far as anyone can tell) being passed off as Castle when it is really only a veneer or facade of Castle on a bunch of Sci-fi sets.
  15. Definitely. I want a Jester, but I haven't liked any of the ones they've made so far. Black and Purple would be a great one.
  16. True, but that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to discuss our distaste with Nexo Knights and our hopes for something better. And 2013 wasn't that bad, it just wasn't as good as other previous Castle themes. I actually liked a lot of it.
  17. Great build! The pink actually works really well. It looks like the purple paint is faded in those spots. I really like how substantial the terrain looks. Nice job!
  18. I actually liked the 2013 Castle sets as well, although there weren't really very many of them. Of course, I have a few complaints about the colors being a bit bright, some sets being fairly small, and the lack of civilians, but overall it was a good theme. I don't find Nexo Knights anywhere near as impressive as 2013.
  19. This is the truth. Just like Nexo Knights, it had few saving graces.
  20. I'm the same way about the Centaur. I feel like I'm just being silly, but LEGO makes the best LEGO, and I want all of my LEGO to be real LEGO. As far as the Gnome Wizard, I'm more interested in his hat with the feather in it. The staff is cool, though. And for Einstein, you could use the CMF Monster Scientist head, which sort of looks like Albert..
  21. I'd really like both, and again, I would definitely buy several of each. That would be a great use for the wings. I'm hoping to eventually see them in Black, myself, but if they did that Devil in Dark Red it would be amazing. The Evil Genie would be wonderful, and might inspire me to buy the older Genie minifigure. The designs are all fantastic. I really hope they keep using them. These are definitely my favorites: If they ever did a Centaur, I would hope that they would use the new Horse techniques where they can stand on their back legs, and even bend at the neck / torso joint. And it would be nice to see them in use in Castle, where we could have a variety of simple prints instead of a whole bunch of spiral tattoos.
  22. Thanks for the confirmation! This is going to be one huge set!
  23. That design is fantastic, and I would absolutely buy several of them.
  24. That's what I would expect. This could be a really cool minifigure. So to those who have seen the catalog, were there any pictures of this minifigure series in there you could tell us about? Anything you haven't already hinted at, anyways?
