  1. I told ya there are going to be posts like that
  2. There is this solution for the W16 that uses a single crankshaft. It's too big though.
  3. The Porsche is currently at a 31% discount on amazon.de, selling for only 206 EUR. I'd expect the same for the Chiron after some months, or even 2 years. No one with a constrained budget in the right mind would buy these luxury items at MSRP.
  4. W-w-what the thing is that? Does the builder cut and fuse the cylinders?
  5. The second panel has what look like the letters MK IV to me.
  6. The new gear ring extender will allow me to rework the gearbox in 8043 into the odd number of stud style.
  7. If the Veyron is already capable of housing such complex designs and functions then anything less in the Chiron would be a shame.
  8. What green parts are there to see besides the panels?
  9. I've just learned that the rear spoiler of Chiron goes up in a vertical position to act as a air brake when the disc brakes are engaged. I wonder how would this be recreated in this set.
  10. In the voice of Prof. McGonagall, why is it when there's "the biggest set ever"", it's always Markus? (Maybe Markus be like, trust me fans, I've been asking myself the same question for six years)
  11. Yes, and until then I'd propose we'd leave this thread in Davy Jone's Locker. Every now and then there will be questions like "anything new?" or "are we there yet?" or "when will there be new images" *sigh*
  12. This thread is considered dead for the next 4 months.
  13. Maybe the implied question was " I just built the model and all the functions are working fine, what was all the hate about"
  14. @Seasider 42009 B model is in bigger scale. Its container is bigger too.
  15. I don't see anything new or interesting fot this gearbox though. It's basically the gear box of 42042, with one less axle in the superstructure and two more axles in the base.
  16. Unmotorized treads, I'd say.
  17. Promobricks is allowed to publish images, so I think we can expect to see them in a few days. Or a few weeks, if TLG wants to go through all the pics that site took and censor inappropriate pic. That would take long.
  18. I think it's overdue for an engage clutch 20z gear. I think one way to distinct the two types of clutches would be referring to them as "engage clutch" (16z) and "slip clutch" (20z).
  19. Why would a 20z clutch gear need a 12z clutch gear? The 24z gear doesnt need a 8z clutch gear.
  20. It's 5x3 dogbones so the panels must be 3x11. What a shame then. So this set has 5 motorized functions. - Raising boom - Extending boom - Winch - Rotation - Outriggers. Since the switch controls the direction in the superstructure, there must be two switches in the lower body on both sides to control the rotation and the outriggers.
  21. Now that I know the structure of the new valve, I'm surprised that I didn't figure out the positions of the connectors sooner. In the prelim image, there's a discernable bit of blue behind the valve ! I think the clam & blade function work like this: a small cylinder will push a lever that connects to the blade to the front. This lever is connected to knob gears at the top. When the lever goes forward the top teeth of the knob gear goes backward. This pushes the clams forward and grab the log.
  22. I think the new valve should have an internal clutch mechanism around the axle hole.
  23. I totally dont wanna see another 42009 this year.
  24. Why can't this year be last year??? So many awesome things, so befitting for the 40th anniversary. Back to the sets: - What is "forest manipulator" supposed to be?
