  1. Paradisa had a casino set. Western had a crooks hideout with card room. There’s a Vega architecture set.
  2. That was exactly what was I was thinking too! These sets are terrible. My wallet will be happy.
  3. These new police sets look to be among the worst City sets I have seen in a long time. Town Jr. anybody?
  4. Yup! It fits.
  5. Huh? In the U.S. there are police everywhere, including rurual swamps and forests, which where the basis for previous City police themes.
  6. These are preliminaries. Let's not forget that the preliminaries for the new bank showed the van from the Museum Break Out set. It doesn't mean much.
  7. Johnny Thunder and Lloyd were cameos in TLM and appeared in a set.
  8. Found this at Target in the U.S. for $3.99. Cool little set.
  9. At around the 13 second mark, the truck and camper being lifted, I think that's the new van/camper set. And love the rally car!
  10. Most online stores ship video games so that they reach the customer on release day. That said, since release day is Sunday, only Amazon Prime uses in Sunday-delivery markets (like Los Angeles) will get them day of release.
  11. My local Target (LA) had the Wonder Woman packs on the shelf in the LEGO section. It would not scan on the price scanners, which means the store likely wouldn't sell it, so I didn't try to buy it, Target computers are smart and it would have blocked me I'm sure. I don't actively play video games at all, although I do own a PS3. The game looks fun and I'll be collecting them all.
  12. Nowhere has more than 10% sales tax, and it's relatively small Birmingham, Alabama where its 10%. The sales tax in New York City is 8.875% and in New Jersey it is 7%. I find it hard to believe people are rushing to New Jersey to save a grand total of $1.88 for every $100 they spend. And of course there are places like Portland, Oregon and Anchorage with 0%.
  13. There are still some number gaps, so looks like might have some retailer exclusives to look forward. 60087 60089 60094 60096 I expect there will be at least one retailer exclusive each of undersea and space.
  14. Sure, but a lot of German cities do in foreign language. In Italian, Munich is "Monaco."
  15. Unless one is using google.de, one will find plenty, since Nuremberg is the correct spelling in the English language.
  16. We will see pictures in a few days. Nuremberg is January 27th and allows photos.
  17. Baseplates have retailed for $4.99 since the early 1990s. Surprised it took this long.
  18. That doesn't take into account income tax, which for many Americans is 0%. Americans keep a larger percentage of the money they earn.
  19. Both Olivia's House and Summer Riding Camp are in the 2014 assortment. They have not been discontinued/replaced.
  20. Do we know more about exactly where the set is available? I'll be in Hong Kon and Tokyo soon.
  21. Nothing is being skipped. The annual flagship set is one of those. Probably another arctic set (retailer exclusive) and two other generic sets.
  22. 1) That ruling was in Europe. LEGO still holds a valid trademark with the USPTO (which Best Lock is attempting to get cancelled). 2) The trademark does not have to be "a brick." Any model made of LEGO products constitutes use of its trademark. 3) Even if we ignore the entirely valid trademark issue, the selling of this shirt materially interferes with LEGO's contracts with clothing manufacturers and retailers. It's within it's right to protect those contracts.
  23. Yes, a picture of their product. It uses their trademark - the LEGO brick - in a for profit product that can cause a consumer to believe the shirt is officially endorsed by LEGO. A magazine does not cause consumer confusion. A reasonable person will not believe a magazine is sponsored, endorssed, etc. by LEGO because it has pictures of LEGO. Now if the fan magazine had the word LEGO in its title, that would cause co fusion, and LEGO would obviously stop that. The cards have a very inconspicuous disclaimer that it's not an official LEGO endorsed product, and in this area, as opposed to fashion, a disclaimer can satisfy the consumer confusion prong in the defandant's favor. It doesn't have to say LEGO. It uses a LEGO trademark - the brick - on a piece of merchandise in an area which LEGO normally operates in through licensing. Even if we ignore the consumer confusion part, the fact remains that LEGO receives income from licensing it's image to clothing companies, and when somebody makes a shirt without paying LEGO a license, that eats into the value of those contracts and can make licensees upset.
  24. I used to practice trademark law. I have no idea about the first one and how it violates LEGO's trademark. The second one absolutely violates LEGO's trademark by having an image of a LEGO set. It can create consumer confusion - the consumer believes the shirt is endorsed, marketed, etc. by LEGO. LEGO is absolutely within it's right to have it taken down, especially because LEGO licenses it's brand to other clothing companies, and this not only dilutes the value of those contracts, but if LEGO doesn't police people who sell clothing featuring it's trademark without permission, how do you think clothing companies that pay a hefty sum for the license feel? If I was LEGO's trademark lawyer, I'd absolutely have the second shirt taken down.
  25. I ordered one copy with the DeLorean (and free hot dog cart) at 8.30p PDT on Wednesday. Shipped yesterday morning.
