I picked up 60100 yesterday. Usually I'd wait for a sale, but I want the original version and found it at Target. I really don't get why the switch was made, because the original model is quite stable and well built. However, the one switch that does make sense is how the water gun was remounted. It's is very awkwardly mounted in the original.

Don't know what I think about the prices. I'm a completionist so I will end up buying everything, but the prices vary from great to insane, $40 for the cargo truck? That has to be a joke. And the cargo plane is $100? That's the same as the old airport! On the other hand, the two race sets are priced extremely well at ony $30 each. That's awesome. The advent calender is back to a reasonable $30, and, slightly related, the Friends sets are all great values, as Friends tend to be.

How have we not seen the school yet? I can't find pictures anywhere.

Found today at TRU in Los Angeles for $3.99.

No, it's not connected. Well, except for the fact that the theme isn't ending and continues into 2013 and will be available well into next winter. Why are people making so much stuff up here? It's really as simple as looking at the 2013 consumer catalogs, in which all the MF sets are listed except 9465.

Grauman's has two vertical neon signs - each saying GRAUMAN'S on one side and CHINESE on the other - hanging on each side of the building's façade. They were removed at some point, but they were reinstalled in the 2000's. The building was influenced by Chinese palaces, but it's details, and interior, are largely art deco.

One reason is the toy has very strong cross-gender appeal, especially in its city lines. Further, the larger size and dollhouse-like aspect of Playmobil makes things like huge hospitals, schools and hotels work better. That said, I still think zoo sets could work very well with LEGO City. Two of the new Playmobil lines being introduced for 2013 - Camping and Swiss Alps - I also think could work with LEGO. But in 2013 Playmobil is also releasing a shopping mall theme (no pics yet), and, again, that requires a dollhouse-like playability aspect to work. Though maybe Friends will have a flagship mall set one day. It is getting a school this year, after all.

What new front piece are you referring to? The heliplane uses the same front piece as jet plane 3181 and a bunch of others.

Tell that to Playmobil...

Here's what was missing: 60013 - Coast Guard Helicopter 60024 - Advent Calender 60026 - Town Square

Too bad the starter set isn't the rumored flagship summer. But I still expect we will see one. There are some numbers still missing, so I'm going to assume those will be retailer exclusives. I'm liking all of them, but disappointed with the cargo terminal, because I was expecting a terminal, and, well, it's not. The plane looks good, but the ground equipment looks fantastic. Missing 60013, -24 and -26, so essentially one exclusive for each of TRU, Target and WM. My biggest disappointment is while I like the sets - where are the buildings!?! Hope we see some!

The starter set isn't anything small. It's the flagship - $100+.

I'm really excited about summer. Seems really cool. The "starter set" is probably the summer flagship, an equivalent of the old Main Street. The list is also clearly not complete, probably missing the retailer-exclusives. Also, "jackscrew" refers to the way the plane opens. It means it is a front-loading cargo plane with a nose that tilts up/to the side.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
MAH4546 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
In the U.S. the sets are now available at Toys R Us, K-Mart and Amazon. They should be at LEGO brand stores tomorrow. -
It is a storage compartment, but it sadly cannot fit the spike strip. On both sets I bought (this and the tow truck), I noticed LEGO started moving the steering wheel to the left side. In the Humvee vehicle, this means there's even a gear shift in the interior (the antennae peace).

Just built High Speed Chase. It is $29.99 in the U.S. Great set. Very interesting thing about it: the license plate for the SUV - which activates in game content for LEGO City Undercover - is a printed code that unique for every set sold! I honestly didn't think LEGO would go that route.

It can look like one and there is no license to pay. Just don't use the brand name. Also, car licenses are dirt cheap to purchase, assuming there even is a cost. Most car companies give licenses away for free, the only thing they ask for is final approval over design. That is one reason toy cars are still less than a $1. Only a handful of car brands actually are able to get away with charging a license fee - pretty much just the exotics and Jeep these days.

Playmobil has a school subtheme in city. Girls especially love to play school.
-
It's not a new range,mots just like 4367.
-
No. Anybody waiting for a price drop is going to be very disappointed.
-
In the United States, it will be limited availability only at physical LEGO Store locations. It is now available at the stores for $34.99.
-
Yes, but as the Euro continues to collapse, that means LEGO will be able to bring prices down in the U.S. Whether or not LEGO actually opts to remains to be seen. They probably do not need to.

The dump truck is already a set, 7631.
