  1. So far I've picked up 4432 Garbage Truck, 4435 Car & Caravan, 4436 Patrol Car, 4437 Police Pursuit and 4439 Heavy-lift Helicopter. Some observations: *Interior the camper is awesome. Kitchen, table, bed and TV. *Love the new roof piece that allows wider seperation of the front and rear windows and two passengers in the car. *Garbage truck uses a brighter, apple green, not the regular green. *Awesome torsos for the forest rangers and forest rescue guys, the latter of which includes printed legs. *The copter is massive and just an awesome build. I just wish it could fit bigger vehicles inside. Unfortunately, they are too wide. One big complaint though: LEGO has dumbed down the instructions. It's actually quite ridiculous! The garbage truck is 51(!) steps for just the main model, not including sub-assemblies. The camper trailer is 49 and the copter is 86, again not including sub assemblies. Why? Because you basically only add two-three pieces per step! A little ridiculous. It makes building them less fun for some reason.
  2. LEGO Store in Los Angeles (Glendale Galleria) had the full range in stock as of today (Monday November 7).
  3. Sets are out! Just picked some up at he LEGO Store in Los Angeles.
  4. Often on road entering into wooded areas. The grates are there to keep animals away - their paws fall through the grates, making it difficult to cross over.
  5. No. It is 100% legal, as long as it's for personal use. You own the product and the law gives you the ability to protect your use of it for now and the future, and that includes making copis of the sticker. And I'm an entertainment/copyright lawyer by profession. I assure you it's legal. So is making copies of the instructions using a scanner or Xerox.
  6. Yes. Five mining sets will be released in May/June. 4200 Test Drilling 4201 Mini Excavator 4202 Dump Truck 4203 Excavator Transport 4204 The Mine Should be TRU-exclusive in the U.S.
  7. Let's not make pretend LEGO has some sort of envrionmental message agenda. It doesn't. TECHNIC features a logging set this year, and the second wave of city sets includes mining.
  8. Plenty of real life vehicles have off-center plates.
  9. Distasteful and selfish? Really? When you resell your house, be sure to charge exactly what you paid for it. It would be just so selfish of you to charge the market price.
  10. Toys R Us and LEGO Stores in the U.S. should start receiving them in early November.
  11. The next modular is a town hall and arrives in the spring.
  12. No, Barnes & Nobles sells at retail. In fact, if you pre-order, the price is reduced by 10%, so what is listed in B&N is 10% lower than the prices I posted.
  13. U.S pricing and names: 5882 - Ambush Attack - $9.99 5883 - Tower Takedown - $19.99 5884 - Raptor Chase - $29.99 5885 - Triceratops Trapper - $49.99 5886 - T-Rex Hunter - $69.99 5887 - Dino Defense Headquarters - $99.99 5889, Hydroplane, will be a store exclusive.
  14. U.S. pricing and names... 9483 - Agent Mater's Escape - $14.99 9484 - Red's Water Rescue - $19.99 9485 - Ultimate Race Set - $29.99 9486 - Oil Rig Escape - $49.99
  15. I don't know, I was expecting them at $20 each, so I'm happy with that. The mid-sized vehicles have been around $20 going back to when City first started. The prices aren't bad at all, IMO, but three of the sets came in $10 each above what I was expecting. The Police Dog Van I was expecting at $25; Fire Plane at $50 and Forest Police at $70.
  16. Sets are in the Barnes & Nobles system. Based on this, here would be the names and prices: 4208 - 4x4 Fire Truck - $19.99 4209 - Fire Plane - $59.99 4427 - Fire ATV - $5.99 4431 - Ambulance - $19.99 4432 - Garbage Truck - $19.99 4433 - Dirt Bike Transporter - $19.99 4434 - Tipper Truck - $19.99 4435 - Car & Caravan - $19.99 4436 - Patrol Car - $10.99 4437 - Police Pursuit - $16.99 4439 - Heavy Lift Helicopter - $49.99 4440 - Forest Police Station - $79.99 4441 - Police Dog Van - $34.99
  17. Now available at Toys R Us in the United States. They come in blue, yellow, red and black. $14.99 for eight compartments, $22.99 for 16. Very cool. I picked one up today and love it. Will be picking up some more soon, but I am holding out for them to arrive at LEGO Store so I can get VIP points and use my Disneyland discount (I'm also betting they will be priced lower at LEGO Stores, probably $11.99 for small and $19.99 for large is my guess). The quality of the plastic is top notch, and the display case has a hidden release button to unlock the acrylic window. Each display also comes with a minifig included, but it's a very basic figure. No prints and not even a headpiece.
  18. Forest police: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Mr-Z/Temp/lego_itp_076.jpg Generic vehicles: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Mr-Z/Temp/lego_itp_077.jpg I'm impressed with 2012's sets. I am dissapointed its more fire and police, but the rural themeing to them is great. My biggest complaint is that the forest police sets are blue and white, instead of going with maybe a green/white or brown/white ranger theme. But they at least have cool new forest-themed uniforms. Love the wheelbarrow and love the motorcycle transport.
  19. It's quite realistic, though, based on European forest firetrucks, like this Renault:
  20. Maybe in Australia, or maybe for certain retailers as the line moves to exclusivity in certain markets, but what you are saying is still false. You tried to paint it as a broad statement applying to all retailers and countries, and that's not true at all.
  21. What you are saying is simply false.
  22. Why is that difficult to grasp? The United States is a much larger market (more demand allows lower prices), there are no taxes factored into the retail price, distribution costs are dirt cheap and fixed costs are much lower than in Europe. If you think the price difference between LEGO in the U.S. and EU is bad, I suggest not looking into how cheap a BMW, Mercedes, or even a Fiat or Smart, is in the United States. Everything is cheaper in America - a high demand, low cost, minimal import tariff, minimal regulation environment.
  23. Toys R Us will start to receive 2012 sets not long before Black Friday, as will LEGO Stores.
  24. It is. That's not an opinion. Sales figures support the statement.
