Can you do up a photo guide or video showing the process? Also will they fit in a lift arm?

Looks really nice! I like the under carriage details too!

Thanks for the kind words! The color choice turned out way better than expected! I picked it because that roof is only available in a few colors and this was the most sports car color I could find. The head light in the original LDD was a 1x2x2/3 slope that isnt avalable so i subbed 1x1x2/3 trans slops and the 2x2 "L" brackets directly underneath are not available in medium azure so I used a 1x2 plate in medium azure and a 1x1 white behind.

Hate to bump an older topic but I wanted to share my brick built version of the car in the OP. I had to recolor it to medium azure and sub a few pieces that weren't available in the colors in the ldd file. Here is the render: Here is the real car: Sorry for the potato quality photos, I work in a dusty environment so my photo's from my phone always come out fuzzy. I am working on ordering the parts for a couple more! I love these designs! Thanks for making them available to us, imvanya!

This looks great! I might borrow this idea for my own construction site!

Studs in technic holes?

You can now upload your LXF files direct to BrickLink -
I have just complete a MOC I want to show you all. I love American style trucks and trains. I did a bunch of research anf found that I like the look of 1 foot = 2 plates scale (about 1:48). This works out to have about a 7 wide semi truck and its important to me, to have 2 mini figs fit in the cab so I have to try to get a 6 wide windshield to look good. I have finally been able to build them in brick! Here are some renders of my truck: Tractor: Trailer: Both together: Here it is in brick next to many of my other LEGO official sets: Same height as 60075 Compared to the Constitution Train w/Minifig for scale: Next to 7632: I am also planning to build this with a different trailer of some sort: Please let me know your thoughts

Looks awesome! Can it navigate standard Lego curves?

Hey Coaster, Any chance you could add your switch and extra rails to a custom blue brick library? If you dont want to take the time then could you render a few front on shots of the long switch and the two auxiliary tracks to make it parallel or a curve? I would be happy to generate the xml data to make the blue brick parts. I am interested to see how this works on my layout! I am thinking it would be 6 files: Left Switch with direction change on the outside Left Switch with direction change on the intside Right Switch with direction change on the outside Right Switch with direction change on the inside Aux piece for parallel tracks Aux piece for curve I would also be happy to make these for any of the other parts you are working on as well. Just PM me if you have questions. Thanks, Cam

You will see that the answer to your question has been posted ;) Typically radius is measured to the center of the object unless otherwise noted.

Great car model! Got any more pics of the Challenger and the Camaro?

I really like this idea! I will have to give it a shot!

You could but some small brush or maybe a bear in the clearing. Too bad Lego doesnt do a deer or moose.

DIY Hybrid 9v / Power Functions Train Motor
supertruper1988 replied to SteveB's topic in LEGO Train Tech
How much for each motor? And any chance to have it as a power pickup for other PF motors? I would love to use them on some steam locos with M and XL motors in the boiler but not have to try to build around a battery pack. -
These look great! I whipped up the second example in Dark Reddish Brown with the 10014 caboose here: This looks great! Do you have an LDD file or more pictures of the build? I think I would convert it to a 2 boggie variant instead of the two axles as those look to be too far from the couplers to work well. Do you also have some pictures of the boxcar in the last pic? These also look great! Im glad to see so many ideas here! I would like these in a different color scheme but I love the over all design!

Hello, I have been away from LDD for some time but the last time I was looking at this topic of adding brick seams and logo on studs, there was a Scene file posted with some tutorials on what to edit for each new feature. I dont see that in the initial post any longer. Do you have those files still? I am on a mac so I cannot use the .exe file.

Chromeknight I like those cars. Do you have an LDD file or some more pictures so I can use them as an inspiration for my own MOC?
-
You are correct I meant mid 19th century...oops. I will look at those movies. This looks pretty close. I think I could probably use it as a base.

I was given the Lone Ranger train for Christmas, and I am looking to see if Lego has made any passenger cars for the same time period? I want to use this great looking loco to pull an equally great looking passenger train. If TLG hasn't done any can anyone recommend some reference material that I can attempt to MOC?

Check out the threads by "Nemo57" in this section of the forum. He has some great "minifig" scale build of a bunch of 4x4 trucks.

Hey Bublible can I add a second light source on the other side of a model? I see many photos that have lights on both sides and I feel that would add a sense of realism to these renders. I read the wiki but I am not sure if I can do this.

I will be running power functions but if I can get all metal rail then I may modify the motors to get the power from the rails using this track. I think for now we should add these things: Shorty Switch (same as TLG switch but modified for use in yards) Half R40 curve
