  1. Cool) Suspension works so smooth. Very cute tiny model. And thanks for lxf.
  2. Will be nice to see Bob in HOF, agreed. Sariel, you're really some kind of wizard)
  3. As always, fun video) Thanks for making another cool thing, Sariel. I like turret insides, very tight, but easy to understand how it works.
  4. I like shot with front grille, it looks evil.
  5. Awesome. I think, that I need join this telehandlers club too)
  6. Simple and recognizable. I like this a lot, looks almost like official set) Great for 1st MOC.
  7. 8 kg... So much wheels. Man, it's crazy truck)
  8. I building on my kitchen and using cellphone, when I need some resources. Most of time I used Wikipedia) There's a lot of useful info for me.
  9. I like that reflections in the 1st photo) Very cool model, I like non symmetrical bottom. Will you share more details about suspension?
  10. Incredibly cool) All that small scale stuff in the shop and garage looks so familliar. I like that old brown radio, had similar in my home some time ago.
  11. Joost, your truck looks cool) Will be nice to see a list of functions.
  12. Nice reason for me to finally build my first supercar)
  13. Yes, sure. I just used all my rubber bands already and start to thinking, instead of building and trying) Torsen doing the same thing, it's not so advanced.
  14. Didumos69, i like things that you do, clever fresh ideas) Some cars use that type of differential, locked by default, but opened when turning/slipping. I think, that it works similar way. I "build" LSD some time ago - just put two 2L axles between tan gears in differential. Works perfect but only at low torque or low difference in speed between right and left. If you try it - you will notice the difference with your differential.
  15. Yes, it's incredibly cool gearbox) But it's different approach, more typical for LEGO, using shifting clutch rings, addition gears e t.c. I just tryed to mimic real gearboxes, where's each gear using their own set of gears, and selecting gear do not involve additional idler gears, so i have only 3 gears per each gear now (sorry for that Gear-Gears =). I have ideas about making similar gearbox, but with double clutch. There's some reasons - it will simplify hammer mechanics and allow me to use more gears, so 6+N+R will be possible. And i deleveloped nearly compact ball bearing this morning - i don't think it's really neccessary, but 100% pure LEGO ball bearing used in double clutch sequntial gearbox - it's cool as i think)
  16. No, it's not grinding at all. Only trouble that I discovered - gearbox seriously slowing down on 4th and 5th gears if I connect geared up 1:9 M-motor. But further tuning of this 2 hammers and their idler gears will help - they pushed down too hard and generate unnecessary friction now.
  17. Awesome looking, nice riding, better than Ferrari. Great car from all points of view)))
  18. By the way, i finished my gearbox, but without any shifter. All of ready ones just can't shift drum, and all my ideas of shifting mechanism was failed( Here's details: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=134615
  19. Thanks for replies) So, i decided to use my Spirit of Baja drivetrain for test. I connected gearbox instead of rear axle - there's 1 XL-motor geared up 1 : 1.67 connected via differential with 2 hardcoupled L-motors geared down 1.67 : 1... And it's all geared down 3 : 1 after differential. Sad, but i can't hold the phone, push IR controller lever and switch gears in same time, lack of 3rd arm) But i tryed it without filming - switching on the fly without any problems, no grinding or something. Oh, my fault, i didn't explain))) LBG is input shaft, blue - output.
  20. So, i finished my gearbox. It's too large for fitting inside some supercar, but i can imagine Hyundai Porter on Unimog wheels with this gearbox) Anyway, it's working, and i like how it looks and sound, so i decided to share this gearbox alone, without any car or something. Gear ratios: 1st gear - 1 : 1.5 2nd gear - 1 : 1.2 3rd gear - 1 : 1 4th gear - 1.2 : 1 5th gear - 1.5 : 1 6th gear - 2 : 1 As you can see i used 4 shock absorbers for holding ratchet in postition and it's neccesary, because "hammers" resist and push "drum" back or forward by 30 degrees. I tryed to make some functional paddles, but failed - all that bionicle sharp parts and rubber bands just doesn't make sense here. So, i leave it with this yellow handle. Sorry for that) Belly shot ;) Assembling was a bit tricky, and fine tuning take 50% of time. After that tuning - selecting proper idler gears and adjusting hammer lengths - gearbox works fine, never stall, never slip, never grind (i tested it for 15-20 minutes in different conditions, hope it's enough). And, like a real one sequential 6-speed gearboxes, shfting time is measured in ms, disengaging-engaging almost instant, but it disengage first. And video. i used M-Motor because used all my other motors in my previous MOC, and didn't dissamble it yet. And i gear it down only for this video, so difference in speed can be seen. I don't know how my gearbox will handle more torque, but it can handle much more speed - at each gear only 3 geear involved, so it's almost frictionless. As usual - pictures are clickable for higher resolution, and more of it on FLICKR Thanks for reading, i hope you like it)
  21. I just fail to resist this Porsche mania and build my own one) Stopped in the middle of the box #2 because i ran out of 5x7 technic frames) Only mod i make - is to change gears for proper shifting sequence. And all works perfect. Changing new transmission connectors without ridges to old white with ridges is making gear shifting slightly difficult, but not impossible. It's just works) And i don't make Blackbird's mod of step 5 - no friction problems at all, white clutch gear never engaged while i'm testing it in all modes at all gears. But i noticed one thing that i want to share... When i making something that involves using gears or may cause friction i can sliding things by fractions of millimeters much time until all spin freely, so, at step 8 two Z16 gear added and they can generate friction with black U shaped part. And you noticed it, and make gear rotate freely, but then, at step 18 big dark grey gear is added. And this gear sitting on the axle much more tight than Z16 gears, and when you just puch it to the axle - it force Z16 gear to touch black U-shaped part again. And it can be fixed here. Also it can be fixed later through small open window at the bottom of the car.
  22. I love all these old nice cars. This one looks great, new panels really add lot of possibilities. I think that i need to find all that parts and build your Corvette for display for a long time)
