I've had a similar problem with a few Hot Wheels I purchased off ebay a while back. They had a strong odor of smoke, pipe tobacco to be specific, as well. I let them sit and air out, and after a week or more, I couldn't smell the smoke anymore. I believe the abs that make up the interior and windows held the scent the longest. I would recommend soaking them in a cherry scented car wash solution for a day and air drying them to help with the smell, if it is as strong as you said. LEGO bricks are real good at holding odors for a long time until they are cleaned. I also picked up a bulk lot from a house that had some pretty strong odors, let them "air out" for a couple weeks, to no avail. I'd stop building and wash them

Is there any MOC you regret taking apart?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Axle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had a space ship I built when I was 14 or 15. The only space ship I ever built. I tore it apart an month or so ago. It was too large and over time I have been reducing the number of smaller storage containers. That and this suspended tram my friends and I built when we were twelve. We'd set up some string across a slight slope over 200ft and send it across the yards and street. I didn't take it apart, but the pieces weren't mine, so I might as well have -
1) Opening a new set and finding the stickers and/or instructions bent to sheet. 2) Seeing new sets with store retail stickers applied to box. 3) Many the same as others have mentioned

These made my little fleet: 1992 Isuzu Trooper LS. I had it for 6 years, on top of the 8+ my dad owned it, until a Chevy Aveo pulled in front of me at a stop light 9/11/11. Chevy lost, but my frame cracked, so she is gone. Really wish I would have taken better/more photos of it. Greatest 5spd SUV IMO; crazy crawler gear. This is my 2007 Hyundai Tiburon SE 6spd. Though not very quick, it's pretty fast for a V6 with 170+ HP. Bought this new in Jan. 07 while waiting for a new trans for my Trooper. Has a few aftermarket parts, but sound like a weed whacker on steroids. Really wanting a muscle car now, no automatics, please. Love my Tib, but not enough get up and go. Finally, this was my Suzuki GSX-R600. I wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle, wanted a 4 cylinder, saw this at an auction, bid, won; $2800. By coincidence it was the same Candy Blue as my Specialized mtn bike. Love every minute of riding it. After 3 riding seasons, 2 tires, muffler, some mirrors, and finally getting my endorsement, I put it up for sale. Sold for $3000 in 2011.

Getting started in LEGO Trains - What to buy?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to MrTools's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well, money. You will miss out on having very much. 9V is very expensive! Apart from that, you can still run PF trains on 9V track, you just can't run 9V train motors on any other track than 9V, obviously. I primarily run 9V and will attach 9V motors to the trains that do not have their own power source (Maersk; EN; HE) and leave PF trains as is. They do have some nice varieties of rolling stock and track side structures, so you'd miss out on that, as well- 191 replies

Summer 2013 Sets Release Date
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Savage Oppress's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Personally, I'm fine with the release dates of sets, especially if, say summer set releases are broken up into a few sets per month. Really takes the sting having not to buy large orders -
As a kid, I only asked for or bought City sets and it's subthemes. I've always been fascinated by scaled down cities and towns. Since I never had a HO train to go with my Hot Wheels/Matchbox collection, LEGO took it's place. Fast forward to today, I technically I don't stick to one theme per se, but City/Train is my main focus. The only sets from other themes, I own, are easily compatible with City sets (i.e. Indy's 7682 Shanghai Chase). I also have some shelf display sets including the VW Camper Van and a few of the sky scrapers from the Architecture line. I still like to believe that I only collect one theme

What sites do you use to buy LEGO?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Grazingcattle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
New: LEGO.com, especially when double points or free shipping is advertised. Used/ discount New sets: ebay, used less and less these days compared to previous years. Still look for cheaper, retail, new, sets or old sets for RRP or less. Parts: Brick Link, don't ever want to clean and sort another bulk lot! -
AFOL - Ah Foal because of the 'a' sound in adult MOC - same as most, like it has a 'k' on the end WIP - Whip, like cream, children, or a my car LEGO - Le Go not Egg-o Vignette - Veen yet Decal - Dee Kal Cuusoo - Kyu so, coo-ing's fer babies BURPs, LURPs, & SNOTs - I don't really care for these in particular, but I burp after I drink soda to fast; snot in tissue; still can't figure out how to 'lurp' I think he's kidding, like L3GO

Fantastic work de-marco! It looks very similar to an early 60's Vette, especially it's rear. Can't wait to see what your next MOC will be

LEGO Guy Bri replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
This is a fantastic idea! This is huge, how many 10211's did it take to build? I'd love a car museum for my city -
