My take on the Santa Fe. Also my first MOC...
LEGO Guy Bri replied to legoman666's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I completely forgot that came in a trans black! That is great news, fortunately I was able to buy a Superchief during it's run. I think the trans black would work quite well -

It definitely works. I can't believe that one piece is that expensive. I really need on for a train MOC I made, but since it's not based on any real loco, it's definitely not worth that price. It is too bad they don't have a piece to better fit the split between the windshields, but that's probably the only solution unless you glue some of those small wedges together. Even then, I don't know if that would work -
Fantastic, looking forward to that. I no next to nothing about model RR's I know they're great and all, but do we really NEED them? Damn emotions and stuff

Alright, it's the Funnybot! Nice work getting all the details on such a small MOC

Wonderful layout! That Arduino system seems to work great, I too, am curious as to it's setup. Too bad this has to be dismantled

Maybe this can help? It's a group pool of all sorts of alternative model, box scans. I was hoping Peeron.com had box scans, but I'm not sure if they do. I'm not very familiar with navigating that particular site

Very nice work, especially for a first MOC, legoman666! Nice choice going 8W. I really like how you angled the windshield. Haven't seen that done before -
Won a sealed 21000 Sears Tower for $20.50, unfortunately it'll be another $5.99 in shipping. Really only wanted a 'Sears Tower' tile to add to the other side of the Willis Tower set, unfortunately none are on Brick Link, so this will do

Very nice job recreating this car! Too bad you don't have these wheels for it

While visiting outside of Philly, for a funeral, in April. Never been in or near there before, so my cousins, who live in Philadelphia, suggested Ray's Pizzaria & Restaurant, which was very close to our hotel. Tried their Cheese Steak loved it! It was jam packed and weighed a 1lb or more and looked like the one in your photo, minus the onion

Switching from 12V system to 9V system
LEGO Guy Bri replied to AlmightyArjen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Man do I miss the whine of the 9V! I've always wanted to see the older 12V converted -
For a SW set, this one looks very impressive, with lots of playable features. This would definitely be a set I'd want if I collected SW. Is this the set that will be replacing the Death Star set out now? It's been out for what 3-4 years? I bet two of these together would be perfect for that tree height you're looking for

Beautiful MOC Luky1987! The amount of detail is stunning, and the lights are a great touch, especially the erie green river. Excellent work
-
Ah, this would've been the first time I've seen that. It really brings the MOC to life

This is awesome Gahrian! Apart from its shear size, it looks great. I really like the colors on this monster. A very impressive build

That is one big ship! Glad I could see it's other shots. Fantastic work, but still can't find the 'Space" tile

I think AndyD has it right, it would be much more work and time for the amount you'll regain. Granted, I've bought a few sets for resale, just in case money gets to tight for something I really want. And I still have to wait for it to discontinue. That is a major downside; it takes years, just for speculation. Most sets seem to not make a big splash on profit-over-investment. I spent the first 2-3 years after returning to LEGO, searching for sets I wanted as a kid, but never got the chance, on ebay. I VERY rarely spent 20%+ over RRP on a discontinued set, and most of those few where train sets that don't show up very often. Then again I really can't give definitive proof that this goes for all themes. Most action-themed, licensed products seem to do ok on the secondary market, but it's the larger, more expensive sets or very rare sets that turn bigger profit. As for resale, I don't know about you, but I find listing items on ebay, or any other similar site. It's incredibly boring and very time consuming. Although, I've sold only a few LEGO items, I've sold numerous other items throughout the year and hated everything about it, except getting money. Shipping can also be a headache, unless you live near your postal carrier. I'd honestly find some other way to supplement your spending habits for LEGO. Maybe a 2nd, part-time job, or like Stinky said, look into other investments? Or aim a bit lower on trying to match your spending habits, say supplement 10-30%. I would be very interested to hear of someone successfully buying/selling LEGO on the secondary market as a part time job, though. Anywho, best of luck BrickG

To give us time to purchase the first few, budget, and save for the latter. They will probably be released mid-late June.I think that's how they released the mid-year sets last summer

Very neat plane-boat? boat-plane? no wait, flying boat, B34TBOXX5! Looks like a real brute, especially with it's own landing craft. I also like the scenery with the busted car and the attacking zombies. Using that plant piece was a really neat effect

Are Lego prices ever going to crash?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Can this be forwarded to TLG marketing department. I don't think they got this memo -

Well, that makes things a lot easier! Thanks you, Rick -
So, looking on S@H at the new 60012 4 x 4 & Diving Boat, consisting of 128pc, for $19.99. Where as, the 2008 version, 7737 Coast Guard 4WD and Jet Scooter, with 130pc, was only $9.99... Am I missing something here?! In 5 years, the the exact same set, more or less, has gone up 100+%? 2 less pieces for $10 more? I'm kind of in shock, I mean hell, I didn't pay over $13-14 USD, shipping included, for either of my 2008 versions and they where 4 years discontinued

This was very easy to understand. A question, just to clarify, about choosing size. Will this automatically resize original image when copying, unlike posting/deeplinking on or from Brick Shelf? -
Another beautiful steamer LT12V, and what an interesting wheel layout
