LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In a new episode of American Dad, LEGO was used to "construct" 3 versions of Director, Ron Howard, for a LEGO convention in their fictional town of Langley Falls, Virginia. One was eventuallydestroyed -

That is amazing... I really can't think of words to describe how awesome this is. What a find -
Sets you have not opened yet ... and why?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Another one here with a list a bit too long to list. Reason: built sets take up too much room and there is none left for display -
Awesome job so far AussieJimbo! I love the art-deco style too

Nice work on the City Pizza add on. Looks great

Those are some pretty neat photos, especially the way he created a life-like pic with a a set. The debris, lighting, and angle made very realistic. I thought the pic of the two Y-Wings, outside the geo dome, was quite funny. "What do you drive? A van, oh, and two Y-Wings..."

Help with identifying parts/sets!
LEGO Guy Bri replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The first is this piece. Hewman was close, it is from the Adventurers line of Jungle sets. The other one is too blurry for me to figure out, but this maybe it, if it's a jewel. Check here for other possibilities in minifig utensils. Hope this is helps -
Glad I could help. I figured that stuff about ebay was a bit redundant. I just thought that whole spiel about that seller was one worth mentioning

Paid Membership with perks? Any interest?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Siegfried's topic in Forum Information and Help
I think a donation box is a great idea. As for a paid membership, I'd be more inclined to pay for one time fees rather than a "per month" -
I've wondered the same thing. I always thought this would make a great modern set, lots of play value. I mean, they gave us a parking garage... to park...

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I'll tell you my experiences on the ebay. Most is probably obvious Always check feedback, how often their sale are, and most recent sales. There was a case where I purchased some sealed sets for great prices from the same seller. They had hundreds of positive feedback, 100% pos. I saved them on my account. Every month or so Id check to see if they had anything I'd want. After about 6mos or so, their account was flooded with negative feedback resulting from customers failure to receive items, usually bigger $50-$300 dollar sets and there account closed. I'm sure they knew what they were doing, but that is something that can still happen on ebay. Everything there is somewhat of a risk and based on trust, by someone you don't know. But thats why I love PayPal. I never lost any money because some one blatantly lied and I bought lots of New and 2nd hand sets from there. Although, a few 2nd hands where a little more beat up or missing an important piece (Cypress Tree, 6390 Main Street), than what was in the description. Paypal always refunded on the very rare occasions out of hundreds where I did not receive an item at all. About factory seals, most larger (think $11.99+ boxes) if not all sets have a rectangular or circle stickers. 1 - 2 per side depending on size of box. Rectangular ones sometimes have a black bar or production code (a few numbers & letters) and are usually on the bigger of these two types of sets. They should look flawless, never cut, layered or carefully peeled off and reapplied. Sets that have perforated thumb hole boxes can be a bit trickier to to determine if there has been tampering if the person was could a cutting between the flaps and re gluing. If it's not immediately obvious, then there is probably nothing wrong and you'd never know until opening it. I hope this provided a little insight and did't waste your time reading what you already knew

City/Trains and City-like (i.e. Creator houses) sets are my main buys. I rarely stray, but have sets from other themes that with little to no modifications, would be just as at home in a city, as it would with it's own theme collection

Great looking vehicles ScotNick! I really like the red, Caddy looking car. The truck is neat too, I love older vehicles, but think it should have one less axle with such a short wheelbase. Keep up the great work

Wow. This is amazing snaillad! I just bought the Palace Cinema and would LOVE to trade you for this But, seriously fantastic job, definitely one of my favorites of your MOCs

Nice work on Allbrick City, it's coming along 3onderfully. I love brickbuilt roads and would love to use them one day, but I'm afraid of how many bricks would be needed. Keep up the great work

Very nice work andyBbear@hk! It looks like the flat tiles around the little fountain where intentionally installed at a slight angle. It's a nice spin (no pun) on tiling

That IS some serious pulling power! But seriously, do you think 4 is enough? I'd love to see what this could pull before losing traction. Great job legoman666 -

Random quick car question for the Europeans amongst us...
LEGO Guy Bri replied to mostlytechnic's topic in Community
It said "America" had, but surely you can't expect it to be that noticeable with a country of it's size, population, and huge variations of roads and driving conditions. Like many northern states in mountainous areas, you have to drive additional miles (or km's) around or along mountain roads, even if the destination is a mile away in a straight direction. Case and point, there's a road about a half mile straight behind my house. Following the roads it takes about 7 minutes of driving to get a car over there. I would only get a year or so out of my tires if they were only rated for 20,000 mi.
