LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
YellowCorvette replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The sets are just ok for me, but my main problem is with the Tanktroopers and Shoretroopers. They didn't very looks like something out from Star Wars and feels more like something that are out from the Halo games series. And the Shoretroopers and Tanktroopers also create a new question: What happened to all o. The Tanktroopers and Shoretroopers in the OT? -
The another problem with the PT is the writing. The actors can actually act (Even Hayden Christensen isn't that bad either) but the writing of the script, settings, etc make the actors can't really act naturally. Anakin that are suppose to be a brave and charming hero are now a whiny idiot in the PT, There's no reason for Anakin to build C-3P0, and the dialogue sound like something out from a Twilight fanfiction. There's more problem caused by the terrible writing, but that's it for now. The problem many people have with CGI is no matter how great the CGI looks, it's still fake. The actors can't really interact with the things in the set like kicking a rock or touching a pillar because those thing aren't really there althrough how realistic the CGI is. Sure some practical effect isn't really that good, but at least the actors can interact with the scene to make their acting more natural because those things are actually there.

Huu...... Lucky that I saved the pictures of the RO sets in my IPad. I'm not very rushed to buy the RO sets as most of the other members at here, through. -

Wow, new pictures! Like the AT-ST, U-Wing and TIE Striker (but why the TIE's wing is folded upward?), and the other two sets aren't too bad either (although their looks weird). -

Both movies still has their own difference. I mean that, did you see two guys who barely know each other flying a TIE Fighter together to eccape from a Star Destroyer in ANH? I could go on, but this isn't the best place to talk about this thing. -

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
YellowCorvette replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's kinda funny that fans dislike the prequel movies because it was nothing like the OT, but still dislike TFA because it was similar to the OT (Looking at you, DarkLordSauron) Aside for that, although that the TFA minifigure key chains is now available, I won't buy any of them since those key chains are very overpriced in my country. There's nothing wrong with that, since that many fans still get the PT sets although the prequel trilogy movies isn't that good. -

I didn't find any of the summer SW sets yet in my country yet, so I can't really talk about my opinion on the prices of the summer sets. But I agree, the price of the summer sets are ridiculous and there's little to no reason for the inflation. It's not just the Star Wars sets that are affected with the price inflation through (I'm looking at you, 60132!) since that the other themes like City also facing the same issue with the set prices. Get the winter wave sets while you still can. -
Review REVIEW: 75098 Assault on Hoth
YellowCorvette replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review, but this is still a awful set for me. Most of the components in this set is unfinished and looks terrible, little to no exclusive and new parts, mediocre minifigures, too overpriced, and a uninteresting build make this set a big "no" for me. This set didn't deserve the UCS tag, and it shouldn't be. -

What's up with the £10 difference of the price tag with both of the X-Wing in some countries? The new one only has more 23 pieces than the previous version, and the previous version isn't even close to been retired yet! Lucky that I have bought the previous version before the new one came out. -
What annoyed about the incompetence of the stormtroopers in Rebels is there's absolutely no reason for them to failing to hit the heroes. As a example In ANH, the stormtroopers fail to hit Luke, Han and Leia because they're ordered to no to hit them. It may seems like a lazy excuse, but at least the reason exists. I kinda tired to see action movies and TV shows where the henchmen always fail to hit the hero. I mean that, it's sometimes nice to see the stormtroopers are able to actually hit and injure Ezra, Kanan or the others because this makes the audience care about the character and make them know that the war the rebels entering is not a game; Once you down, there's no second chance.

Kinda agree. The site is really get much worse over time. First with their "mistaken a A-Wing pilot for a B-Wing pilot" thing, than arguing about TFA and BvS, then what's next? Massive abandon on fans who love The Force Awakens? I afraid that the set reviews and Toy Fair coverage are now the only good thing about FBTB. Now I prefer EuroBricks, BZpower or Brickset for all of that.

Each of the trilogy has their own good things and bad thing, including TFA, OT and PT. It's not that I want to defend TFA and having a civil war between Star Wars fans, but what makes me sick with the trend of hating TFA is the fans (not all of them) are focusing too much on the bad things and totally ignore the good things in TFA. Even the Prequel trilogy also has some redeeming qualities on them (Althrough the prequel movies are terrible) like the soundtrack and world building.

Am I the only one here that get sick with the trend of hating The Force Awakens among the fans? Yes, some of the points make by the haters are kinda valid, but most of the reasons given by the haters makes no sense. Here's some of the reasons make by the hates that makes no sense to me: 1. Bad Acting. I think this reason is totally invalid because the actors make a great job portraying the characters and their acting makes the characters feels like real people rather than the wooden acting in the prequel. 2. Kylo Ren is a terrible villain. Kylo Ren may not the most powerful Star Wars villain, but he is some of the most complex character ever featured in the franchise. Kylo Ren may looks menacing with the mask, but without the mask he feels insecure with himself, he tried everything to achieve his goal but things only get much worse. I think that this added to his depth as a character. I don't need to see another Vader or Maul. 3. The final lightsaber fight is terrible. Definetly disagree, because choreography and actions isn't what a lightsaber fight is all about. The lightsaber fight in TFA feels more like a real fight and the characters are actually trying to kill each other rather that the lightsaber "dance" fights in the prequel. I could go on, but that's enough for this moment.

The minifigure looks good, but I'm not interested with the promo minifigure since I'm now more interested in the OT/TFA stuffs. -
Which is the worst wave of BIONICLE G2?
YellowCorvette replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I think it depends on opinions, but for me this year's summer wave is the weakest wave by far. The beasts and UTD are kinda ugly, messy and too gappy even for what they supposed to be and Ekimu looks pretty boring for me. AT least some of the 2015 summer sets are pretty good like Skull Grinder vs Ekimu and Skull Warrior, but there's almost no sets i'm interested in this year's summer wave. Hope that the 2017 sets will be much better. -
Is 2016 the best year ever for CCBS?
YellowCorvette replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
While some of the 2016 CCBS sets are pretty good (Umarak the Hunter), but I don't think that this year is a very great year for CCBS sets. Most of the winter wave Bionicle sets are mediocre to me, and the summer wave Bionicle sets is also very lackluster. -
The ship looks pretty good! Although some of the angles on the ship looks totally off, but it's understandable since this is the best you can built because of the curvy lines on the source material.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
YellowCorvette replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good post, but I'm not talking about the exclusiveness of the minifigures, I'm talking about the value. I mean, what's the point of spending $90 on the TIE Advance vs A-Wing set where you only get 700 pieces with only 4 minifigures while you can get more pieces and more minifigures in slightly cheaper or more expensive set!? For example, 75104 has 6 minifigures and 1005 pieces, and it only cost $30 more than the TIE Advance vs A-Wing set. 75102 also has 4 minifigures (and 3 of them are exclusive to the set) and 717 pieces, and it only cost $10 less. -

It looks ok for me, since that most CCBS Star Wars sets also use the same build for the legs (Luke, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan,etc) -

Thanks for the first leak picture of the Rogue One sets! The one with the Rebel Trooper helmet looks ugly, but the Death Trooper and K-250 looks awesome! -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
YellowCorvette replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's kinda annoying for me that you only get 4 minifigures from the TIE Advance vs A-Wing with that price tag while you can get 4-7 minifigures in slightly cheaper sets (FO Transporter, Death Star Final Duel), so yeah the argument about the lack of minifigures is kinda valid. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
YellowCorvette replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The minifigures from the TIE Advanced vs A-Wing set is great, but the price is absolutely a joke! I mean that Poe's X-Wing and the Death Star Final Duel set has 20-30 more pieces than the TIE Advanced vs A-Wing set and both set only cost $80! -
