  1. This is helpful. I assume the benefit they would offer over a simple pivot would be that they would more or less return to center due to their elasticity.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion but these are a bit too flexible and also too small. Does anyone actually have these parts and can vouch for just how flexible they are?
  3. Lego 45803, 45568 Are these strange looking beams and lift-arms actually flexible? Could their flexibility feasibly be used in a torsion type of suspension? And to be sure, they are compatible with modern lego pins and axles, right?

  5. You could certainly try. It won't be ideal, but it should still perform quite well. You could also use larger/heavier tires for more weight on the axles and, thus, an easier time flexing with hard yellow shocks.
  6. These gears need more bracing. Any amount of torque will instantly push the gears apart, cause them to click, etc.
  7. Also, while it costs US$250 to buy 42099 from Lego, its being sold new, sealed from sellers in Germany and Hong Kong for as low as ~US$177. Is the simple explanation for this price difference exchange rates?
  8. Does anyone know how I could get ahold of the new planetary hubs and CV joints before getting 42099? They aren't even on bricklink yet and I'd imagine they'd be super expensive, anyway. Is it true that I could email TLG and order them individually this early?
  9. I agree. This is why its great that Lego increased the RPM of the new motors. I'm still curious about the limits of the new CV joints. They seem promising!
  10. Has anyone tested just how strong the new CV joints are? I'm really hoping they're better than the current U-joints. Also, is BuWizz planning on making a new version to accommodate for the new cables? Or is there an adapter? I'd love to make full use of the new motors.
  11. Oh I was referring to requesting replacements for broken or missing pieces from sets through Lego's website. I wasn't aware you could actually order certain parts over the phone.

  15. As an off-road-focused builder, I am super excited about these new parts, especially the planetary hubs and possibility of a high speed motor output. LEGO U-joints and CV-joints are undoubtedly the weak link in any well-built off-road MOC. I spent months redesigning the front driven axle of my Rocket crawler simply because LEGO U-joints couldn’t handle moderate torque and custom planetary hubs were way too large. Something interesting I noticed in the video was when they put the 4x4 on the ground at first and the steering motor turned or calibrated the wheels - it moved so quick and with lots of power. It reminded me of an actual RC servo motor. I think this set is a must for anyone who enjoys off-road building.
  16. @rzepa10 Awesome video! I'm glad to see its working so well for you. Besides me cannibalizing its BuWizz, wheels, and m-motor for other projects, it is still intact and spends most of its time on my bookshelf. I'm sure my crawler would be happy to hear it has sibling in Poland
  17. If you mean replacing their thin plastic bodies with one constructed of Lego, thats not a bad idea. In fact, this would allow you to create any type of look you want. The downsides are that Lego is certainly going to be heavier than whichever body comes default on those crawler. Additionally, a Lego body will break apart when crashed, no matter how well you build. Also, mounting the Lego body to the non-lego rc chassis may be difficult, but achievable with adhesive velcro or double sided tape.
  18. Oh yes, forgot about that polarizing switch. It is necessary because there are four drive motors and one steering motor - five in total. Because I wanted independent front and rear axle control, I would need a minimum of three ports, which the SBrick and BuWizz both provide. But, because the two motors in both the front and rear axles are facing different directions, one needs its direction reversed. The polarizing switch reverses the direction of one of the rear drive motors so that drive for the rear axle can take up only a single port on the BuWizz, reducing five different wires to fit on four ports. For example, port 1 on BuWizz may be front right drive motor, port 2 is front left drive motor inverted, port 3 is steering, and port 4 has both rear right and rear left drive, one inverted using the polarizing switch bb339c01. BuWizz is enough to control the truck with full power. I use an SBrick as it allows better, custom control schemes on my phone with which I am more used to controlling my creations. That being said, if you have an ios device and an MFI certified gamepad or an android phone and compatible gamepad, the app "Brickcontroller2" allows you to control your creation with a game controller, which I would argue is the best of all methods, and only requires BuWizz. I recently bought a Steel Series Nimbus controller to connect to my iPad and BuWizz and it is awesome. I haven't tried it on my Rocket Crawler, though I'm sure the analog controls would be a welcome upgrade.

  20. In some cases, the incorrect pieces on the LXF are not a big deal, and do not affect performance. The incorrect parts that do affect performance are obviously incorrect, as they don't fit in the model or don't function correctly. When you come across a weird building step, or a piece that seems too loose or disconnected from the rest of the build, check this folder to find a photo with the correct piece placement.   22. @imurvaiHey, I just bought a steel series nimbus yesterday to use with your ios app and my BuWizz 1.0. It works fantastic! No noticeable lag, precision controls. Your app is actually better than the official BuWizz app in that it automatically reconnects to the BuWizz if connection is lost. Thank you so much!
