If only you had the fabled George Lucas fig...
-
I assume they'll save those two for a bridge scene set in the future. We're getting a new Dengar and probably a new fig in Piett so oh well.
-
Someone HAS to do this now. Then cut away to Ackbar smiling.
-
He can be seen exactly five times, watching both rancor scenes and watching Han and Luke get sentenced. Just because you didn't notice him doesn't mean he isn't there; it's not like he's ever the focus of any scene in RotJ. I also agree with Anio's measurements.
-
Yes, he can be seen multiple times in the palace. He wasn't on the sail barge though. I would hope he wouldn't come with this future set so they can make characters we don't have yet; notably Leia's Boushh disguise, Oola, Max Rebo, the Rancor trainer, and printed Gamorrean's. Printed Jabba is a given.
-
The Devastator is only seen in Episodes IV and VI. And yes, the Executor has always been in Episode V.
-
I wonder if the officer will be Piett... Lego's catching on that people sometimes buy sets strictly for the minifigs. Not me personally, but some people.
-
It's still a great MOC regardless, and better than TLG's. Doesn't take away from the MOC at all.
-
Anio, you've never hid the fact that you didn't want TLG to build an Executor so you could be one of the few with one. That's understandable. Yours is likely more accurate with more detail so be proud about that too. But please, TLG did not copy you. And don't be a killjoy in this thread because you won't be one of the few with an Executor.
-
YES!!! So glad they made this. This likely means the DS is getting one more year on the shelves. Guess we can wait till next year to bring back the Cloud City discussion. Fallen...apology?
-
If he is kidding he needs to be a little more unrealistic. That's a believable set, set name(they won't call it Executor), piece count, and price range. It's also the most iconic OT ship that hasn't been made a set so it's bound to happen at some point.
-
Just to make sure everyone here knows what Vader's Super Star Destroyer would be. The Executor. It would be the large arrow head ship. It was destroyed in Episode VI when it crashed into the Death Star II. Sir von Lego, give some confirmation on this ASAP. There's no talk of this set yet but I would LOVE them to build it. It deserves the UCS label.

I was 13 when TPM came out. I thought it was pretty awful except for Darth Maul. It's not an age issue, the Prequel movies just aren't as good. It's a sad fact. They aren't iconic at all. TIE fighter, Executor, Home One, Khetanna(sail barge). Not to mention, a UCS Cloud City would sell like hotcakes. Back on track! I still say that given the set number of Echo Base, were going to get a set exactly like Home One. One side will be the med bay and one side will be the hangar with a snowspeeder. I'd be shocked if it's not like this.
-
I would have rather had a sale. TLG finally caught on that just about everyone would buy a flaming bag of crap if it came with an exclusive minifig.
-
Now if I could just get Anio to post the instructions for his Executor...
-
They'll be going somewhere for sure...Ani has to blow up that ship! All I care about though is that you can spin it, because that's a neat trick.
-
And the Home One scene was exciting? Crix Madine was an important character? You'd be surprised what OT sets would sell considering the parents are holding all the money.
-
SotE was huge in the mid 90's, but TLG's target audience would have no idea what The Outrider is or why they should pay 100+ for it. I watched a Let's Play on YouTube for the N64 SotE game (loved that game) and the guy reviewing it kept calling it the Falcon. I'd buy it of course but many wouldn't...TLG won't take a risk with a big EU set unless their smaller EU sets ever sell well.

Wow, this thread really exploded! I, for one, enjoy fallenangel's love for accuracy. It's better than someone uploading a MOC and we all clap like seals. I also think that if two people build the same ship but one model is much more detailed (more time and money) then that person should get more applause for their efforts. What's the point of making anything fancy if we equally applauded every MOC uploaded? "Yeah, if I squint and turn my head it sorta resembles a X-Wing! Yeah! This is amazing! Don't change a thing!" How does that benefit anyone? We need to keep people on this forum that are willing to offer honest opinions on MOC's and suggest higher levels of accuracy, whether the poster wants to hear it or not. There are plenty of sites where all the comments are positive, but you don't get any better at building from hearing that. Also, from what I've seen, no one has ever been blatantly mean about their opinions. It's just an opinion, you don't have to take a negative one personally.
-
Maybe that's ok for Joe Poor and his 12 bricks, but I'd never let my kid pass that crap off as something. We can't encourage stupidity! As for MOC accuracy, enough to please the target viewer within a time/financial limit. Sometimes it's this forum, sometimes it's people that come over. If no one likes it then it probably sucks and I scrap it.
-
Of course it's possible, but there has been no real information about it. The UCS Lobot wasn't a clue; Hyland isn't legally allowed to talk about the sets he's seen. He said something that would sound ridiculous, and since everyone wants a Cloud City anyways they construed it to be some sort of hint. The Naboo Royal Starship and Malevolence were also rumors. How'd those turn out? I could go start a Yavin IV rumor on another site and be just as credible as these other rumors. All I'm saying is that until confirmed by a credible site, don't go crazy with rumors.
-
We havent heard any credible information about a UCS set. Cloud City is wishful thinking by many people and Jabbas Palace is a rumor from a website that could not be linked to.

Minifigs - 7667 - Stormtroopers. Parts - 7668 - I guess the Rebel logos would be nice to have. They all kinda suck on parts. Design - 7667 - The dropship, it can fly and can hold all the figures.
-
It's not really a retcon...more like an alternate universe. SW is full of them.

Here you go. This is only for the dropship though.
