  1. They could throw in a R-22 Spearhead, which were supposedly in the battle. It is the A-wing predecessor. They won't, though. Everyone should just double the suggested prices for a more accurate TLG price scheme.
  2. Hasbro paid for an exclusive license for SW figurines. If TLG intruded on that license, Hasbro would be suing someone. Besides, TLG makes much more money by bundling an exclusive minifig with a product or high-priced set people wouldn't otherwise buy.
  3. I consider a set designed to be played with by kids with mini figures can not be compared to one that is much more expensive and forced to sit on a shelf. One should be fun, one should be accurate. This is my problem with some of the UCS sets. I'm paying extra for the accuracy, I should get it.
  4. Are you referring to the Death Star II? I think they did a pretty good job considering Lego by design is not sphere-friendly. The Death Star, if it even is UCS, is a playset so it doesn't need to be accurate. We agree to disagree. If you can't play with the ship...if it's designed to be strictly a model...then it better be accurate. And it isn't. It's not something that would have difficult by design, they just chose to make it less accurate.
  5. This set always angers me, the whole point of UCS is supposed to be accuracy. Or so I thought. Yes, it looks better with longer engines, but it shouldn't be designed that way. If I'm playing top dollar for a set, I demand at the very least an accurate scale.
  6. That's only for personal preference. Not one person of the many people who have seen my sets has examined them for movie accuracy, or even cared. They're ships built out of Legos, that's the novelty. They look great on display either way, its up to you how much time/money you want to spend on accuracy, especially when 100% accuracy is impossible to obtain.
  7. The cart is just holding missiles for use on the ship; it's acting as a supply/repair cart.
  8. And the biggest army prize goes to mutley! That's a hard post to follow.
  9. They'll throw in a NEW MINIFIG!!!, a pilot, and a stormtrooper with each set as well as some useless loading bay thing to put figures on. Poof, 49.99. No doubt in my mind.
  10. I feel the same way, but for different reasons. I think only the OT can sell such a high priced set. From what I've heard, the starfighter didn't sell well at all. It's hard enough to warrant buying UCS sets...so mostly adults will be the ones to pony up extra cash for a display model, and adults are mainly OT fans. It's dumb to take PT risks when there are still OT ships left to do. I think we need to ban imagining a price point because it's just depressing. We're not getting good values like that anymore. Both the TIE's would be $50 and the Shuttle around $80. The days of good values died a while ago, be prepared to overpay.
  11. There was no R2-D5, it's actually R2-Q5. They just misprinted the name on the ISD.
  12. This is a pretty bad question. Everyone should be picking the UCS MF, whether you have it or not. It could be sold for any other UCS set and there will be still be cash left over. If you just wanted pieces, the MF has the most.
  13. If you're opening for an overpriced set, you'll be rewarded. I cringe thinking how much it's going to be.
  14. It's the only battle they showed, but the rebels lost others. What do you think happened to the rebel base at Yavin after they blew up the Death Star? The Stormtroopers have proven over the couse of the movies to be anything but elite, but that wasn't the point of the Endor scene. First off, it was never implied that the Ewoks were winning...they were merely a distraction. Lucas says this himself in the commentary. Secondly, it was supposed to be about a technology-inferior race holding off the Empire. Once again, there have been numerous wars in history where the inferior army has won, either through sheer numbers or battleground tactics (Ewoks had both). Nebulon B would be a great ship, but I doubt they'll do it. A little too obscure.
  15. Looks like it just holds flick fire missiles that can be put on the ship. The B-wing set does something similar with its missiles.
  16. I don't see why I can't point out problems with the PT, I do it sparingly. I definitely agree there are flaws with the OT, but the rebels defeating the Empire twice isn't one of them. Both times were due to an overconfident Empire. The Empire did dominate the rebels on numerous occasions. There have been MANY times in history where an underdog has defeated someone though, too many to list.
  17. It costs 50 because they can get away with it. The movie early next year will just be free advertising. Even so, while my initial thought was 50 (comparable piece count and figures to the X-Wing) even I though TLG wouldn't raise this above 40. Oh well.
  18. The X-Wing and Death Star are older, but I agree, an Endor Rebel pack is needed. We probably won't get one till The Battle Of Endor is off shelves though.
  19. If they have to make an Episode 1 ship I'd want the Naboo Royal Starship, simply because it'd make a great chrome parts pack. And who can forget the great scenes with it? -Qui-Gon trying a suicide mission flying straight through the blockade! -R2-D2 saving the day fixing the shield generator, and right afterwards they weren't hit by a single shot! -The fake Queen thanking a piece of equipment for doing its job! -Padme and Jar-Jar having an in-depth conversation! -Obi-Wan sitting on the ship reading midichlorine levels! Just magical. And to top it off, they never considered selling it to Watto for the slaves and some extra money to hire a transport for the trip home. Nope, the ship is worth throwing all our eggs in the podracer basket! It's a shame this ship hasn't been made and remade three times by now.
  20. In Empire, Boba's jumpsuit is a very light blue. In Jedi and New Hope SE, faded white. The big difference though is the cape, he has a two tone brown cape in Empire but switches to one tone green for Jedi.
  21. If it helps any, Boba has two more Manalorian armor sets in addition to the one he got from his "father". So you can always pretend it's another set. I wish TLG would employ a super nerd to point out errors that wouldn't effect the companys bottom line and only improve accuracy.
  22. In small doses, EU sets just don't sell well.
  23. I think the ship needs to be higher for aerial shots. Even from above it still looks like a mini ship compared to the minifig size.
  24. Is Chewy standing on a brown stud for the extra height? If so, great job at hiding it, it looks like the reflection initially.
  25. You'd get only AFOL's in that range. So, it wouldn't be a toy, it'd be a collectors item for display or just to hold value. The 1,000 range makes it that much more valuable since few could even afford it.
