Third major battle in the OT.
-
All studs. Plate size will vary to knock down the cost. The only transparent bricks I was planning on were for the xwing engines, and possibly the stars.
-
As part of an OT display, I need a 118 by 56 stud mural to put on the wall. Since I'll need to buy the pieces for any design I have (used up all my black/gray pieces on stands and another mural) I need to plot out what I need to build before I build it. Here's a drawing I did in Paint of what it looks like so far. One stud equals one pixel. Copy the image below, paste it to paint, and zoom in to get an idea of how it'll look on a wall(about 3 ft. by 1.5 ft.) Hopefully you can see what I'm going for? Using only two grays along with white, red, and black...is there anyway I can get the rear of the X-wings and the Death Star to look more accurate with this low stud count? Or maybe this is awful and should be scrapped entirely? Let me know! If you have a theory on how to improve something, please test in in Paint to see if it holds up.

In a closet out of the light. Should I ever need to resell sets, having the box and manual in good condition helps a bunch.
-
I'm expecting a build similar to Home One. A room on the left with the control room and the med bay...the room on the right will be the hangar bay with a snowspeeder. Just my thoughts. Of course, given the way TLG remakes sets, they'll just greeble the '07 set, throw in some new minifigs, and call it a day.
-
I'd be giving kids 5 bucks to go win a White Boba minifig for me. The profit that could be made on eBay...
-
I checked it out...it is now said to be the smallest echo base yet. Brickipedia is a source anyone can edit, so it's a source that can't be trusted, UNLESS there is cited material to back up the claims.

Impressive would be an understatement. Wish I had the money to try something like that. I hope that instead of Endor, he would try a massive Trench Run. But likley not since he's already got a lot of forest pieces.

This set is pretty horrendous. I feel sorry for the collectors that must "catch 'em all", especially when they have to pay top dollar for something like this.
-
He just asked when it was seen. Nothing beats the models though. Your T-16 is excellent; it makes my TLG one look like crap in comparison. I hope they revisit this ship someday (unlikely, but they've got 10 years to burn).
-
Considering TRU's normal markup, wouldn't this be them just lowering the price to MSRP?
-
In the background of that particular scene you can see the incomplete hull of the ship. Other appearances: In the Special Edition of Return of the Jedi, the T-16 does a flyover of Mos Eisley when they show different cities at the end of the movie. I believe it's in Attack of the Clones as well when they go visit Lars.

StoutFiles replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Personally I feel this topic should be bumped every now and then; I enjoy seeing other SW collections and new members should be encouraged to share. SW geek, you have a pretty nice collection. Some here have just a few sets...some have every set there is. I'd start on Page 1 of this topic and scroll through to see some great collections. -
I'm disappointed about it as well, but we must all remember that Lego is mainly for kids. Kids don't care about movie accuracy, they want something with some playability and figures that look like the movie counterparts. Most of the AFOL's will still buy the disappointing sets, just grudgingly. I just hope this price per part trend doesn't get any worse than it already is.
-
So no Echo Base then, very disappointing. Does anyone know when we'll get the details of this set? (future event, randomly one day)
-
Were regular Stormtroopers on Hoth? I thought they were all Snowtroopers. Anyways, not bad, although I don't think they'd be so close to something on fire or currently exploding.
-
They won't add Boba Fett because it would cripple sales of the Slave 1. Other than the typical exclusive minifig, the other minifigs need to be generic enough where they won't hurt sales of competing sets. The cover is showing the best of the best. They aren't going to hide better minifigs and mini ships....they want people to buy this, remember?
-
Coming in to someone's thread to promote your own MOC is extremely rude. This is their thread, let's keep the comments on this MOC only.
-
There are few people that would buy something they didn't like just because it had the Star Wars label on it. I actually can't get over how bad it is according to the box art. I mean, just look at this! Is that the Millennium Falcon? I mean, maybe if a 3 year-old designed it, but there are supposed to be great designers working at TLG! That's the best they could come with? And then the minifig list...the only slightly rare characters are Nute Gunray, which I could argue is the least appealing character in Star Wars, and Santa Yoda, which can be recreated provided you have a CW Yoda and purchase any future Christmas themed sets. And they didn't even bother to give Chewie the right bowcaster. It's like TLG just mailed in it on this. "Hey, people will buy this regardless of the set quality, so let's just put no effort into these mini models and keep the piece count ridiculously low for mass profit. Ooh, and let's throw in mini figs that nobody really needs to make sure it doesn't hurt sales of any other sets. Oh, and let's give Yoda a Santa torso to make sure all the 'gotta catch 'em all' collectors buy it."
-
By the way, is there anything unique about Santa Yoda that won't be replicated on future winter themed sets? Santa will take this body and backpack... and short red legs are obtainable. The figure is unique now but it will be easily recreated in the future.
-
Sadly, it will easily be the best selling advent calendar. Doesn't matter if the models are lacking and minifig selection is average at best. TLG has no reason to try harder on it.
-
If anything the cockpit is still too big, this ship would be a good entry in the Chibi contest as it is. But yeah, it's a toy. They try to make it accurate while still having play features and this is what we got. If anyone wants a true Falcon, I guess get on EBay and get the accurate UCS one. Or do as I'll likely do and mod it to be more accurate.
-
So the new figure is a non-canon CW Santa Yoda? Good, now I have no reason to purchase this overpriced set.
-
Nice find Emperor. The back of the box shows the Falcon from weeks ago, while the Falcon pic a few pages back show the slightly edited Falcon. So some of these features may have been edited as well.
-
I'm not even sure why they'd bring that out, unless to just mess with people. "Oh wow, that Falcon looks amazing! I'm definitely going to buy it!" "Yeah...actually this Falcon is the previous model. You can't buy it anymore. Don't worry though, the Falcon coming with these mini figures is smaller and much less accurate!"
