  1. If it was the Executor, then yes. Otherwise, no. The only sets I could ever see this happening with is the Genosis Arena, with tons of minifigs and vehicles.
  2. It appears that they're unloading the last of it now. Get it while you can, this will be a fortune on the resell market.
  3. Think it looks great as it is, bunches of minifigs don't make scenes better unless the scene calls for it. I think Lucas has convinced everyone that when theres a battle droid there needs to be hundreds of them. Love the wall!
  4. Even worse, basically everything that Yoda said in Empire has been negated by the prequels. "Size matters not" - Yes, unless fighting someone who can match your Force skill. Then you have to over exert yourself to keep up physically. Size DOES matter. "Always with you it can not be done" - Yes, but luckily Luke has lots of midichlorines. "That is why you fail" - You won't fail if you're one with the Force! "Into exile I must go. Failed, I have" Oh, well you're an expert on failing then. Maybe you should have teamed up with Obi-Wan against Sidious? "Ready are you? What know you of ready" - You're very wise when it comes to knowing who's ready! And if you think otherwise, well, you won't do anything about it and let premonitions of grave danger be ignored.
  5. I feel like creating a classic forum would stretch the user base too thin. Instead of one busy forum, we'd have two quiet forums. It's a big reason why I rarely visit FBTB, the SW forum has long periods of no posts.
  6. Very nice. Sneaky how you made Chewbacca seem taller with that camera angle.
  7. Yes, I will be likely be putting in hand painted backgrounds. That won't be for a while though. I will be putting in scenery as I go but getting the other sets is still top priority. The Death Star will likely stay open to show off the rooms inside; the Death Star 2 will show off the paneling look. I may consider asteroids but I'm not planning on doing any space additions. I make modifications if it pains me to look at it, so far only the blue colors of the TIE sets needed changed IMO. I will likely modify the oversized cockpit of the Falcon as well. But I have to pick and choose my battles, I'm not working with unlimited money and wanting perfection would mean I'd have to mod every ship. And I'd still be disappointed after because I'd never get perfection. Not repeating. Other than the money to do so, there'd be X-Wings and Falcon's everywhere. I want each shelf to be completely unique. Another instance where I have to pick and choose. If I did that, well, the snowspeeders aren't to scale with the AT-AT...and the AT_ST isn't to scale with the speeder bikes....it'd just never end. Besides, the display is more about showing off the TLG sets than it is building my own. I'm just trying to group them together or add some scenery so they can all work together to create the display instead of a mismatch of sets on shelves. Which won't fit? Note that I haven't put up the two small shelves that go under the Alderaan and Endor posters yet. The land dioramas are a chance to show off the minifigs so they will be pretty busy. The space shelves could never be MOC'd even remotely accurately with such limited space so they're just ships on stands to show off the vehicles from the scene, not so much the scene itself. Since I'm thrown away space accuracy, I can show off the Death Star II battle plan scene and its unique minifigs than just having the A-Wing on a stand. Thanks for the advice so far everyone! Sorry to disappoint about scale and ship accuracy, but I have to draw the line somewhere. This is still Phase 1 though, so each shelf can and will look better as I add things to it.
  8. I'd put this in the display thread, but there's some MOC's in this. Alright. So after buying a few OT ships, and then a few more, it ballooned into the idea of having a full display devoted to just the vehicles of the OT. And then, the OT in general. I put together a display in Paint and designed what I'd want the final design to be. The six OT planets would be framed posters. I figured there was enough fan art out there to find themed posters of the planets. The shelves would have the Lego sets according to the scene. Ships in italics mean I own them. Death Star Plans: Tantive IV Devastator Tatooine: Sandcrawler T-16 Skyhopper Landspeeder Imperial Landing Craft Battle of Yavin: X-Wing Y-Wing TIE Fighter (modified, color) TIE Advanced x1 Battle of Hoth: (moc battle, work in progress) Snowspeeder AT-AT Asteroid Field: TIE Bomber (modified, color) Slave-1 Millennium Falcon ('11 model) Tatooine: Jabba's Palace (future set) Jabba's Sail Barge Battle Of Endor, space: A-Wing B-Wing Home One TIE Interceptor (modified, color) Imperial Shuttle Battle Of Endor, ground: AT-ST 74-Z speeder bike Individual shelves: Death Star Death Star II Cloud City (future set) Executor (future set or MOC) The shelves were purchased at Home Depot. While white, black, and light orange were obtainable colors, I settled for an dirt brown for the Endor shelf which ended up working out just fine. The posters I found in one theme, but I hated the poster for Yavin IV. The Alderaan poster I ended up liking the best so I used that one instead. The wall wasn't long enough so I had to wrap it around to the adjoining walls. The Death Star was put in the center so the wall looks a little more balanced till I get more sets. Here's what I have so far: . Endor is done minus trees. The scene is the Empire about to ambush the rebels in the shield bunker, and the Ewoks getting ready to ambush the Empire. On the far left, Wicket is being chased by Scout troopers after stealing a speeder bike. Any suggestions so far? Let me know! I apologize for the below average pictures, when it's finished I'll get a better camera.
  9. In 2001, but he's stayed consistent with those thoughts. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Canon Scroll down to the George Lucas canon section.
  10. Haha I guess. I'd say it's a better sleeping device than a vehicle though.
  11. Kinda sad that a character who's in the movie for about ten minutes with two lines is the main antagonist of the movie. Sadder that he's one of the most revered characters BECAUSE he didn't appear long enough for Lucas to ruin him.
  12. In Dobby's defense, only the '09 Echo Base didn't include a vehicle.
  13. Lucas - "The Star Wars story is really the tragedy of Darth Vader. That is the story. Once Vader dies, he doesn't come back to life, the Emperor doesn't get cloned and Luke doesn't get married..." G-canon is all that matters. The events after Episode VI are canon, but they aren't G-canon, so they didn't happen according to Lucas. All other canons (T, C, S, N) exist if only to rank the plausibility of other events aside from the movies.
  14. We've never had any evidence of a CC set, just a lot of wishful thinking.
  15. Those aren't the exact same, if you zoom in they are all slightly different.
  16. Lucas -"There are two worlds here," explained Lucas. "There's my world, which is the movies, and there's this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe—the licensing world of the books, games and comic books. They don't intrude on my world, which is a select period of time, [but] they do intrude in between the movies. I don't get too involved in the parallel universe." Everything but the movies is not G-canon, which is all that matters. Lucas lets the other versions exist because they make him money, but they didn't happen.
  17. If they did this with Cloud City it would be just as popular, if not more popular.
  18. Grey? Jabba's color varies from green to a reddish brown. There's no grey at all. His eyes are an orange-yellow combination resembling a cat eye. Possible new minifigs are Boushh, printed Jabba, printed Gamorrean, Max Rebo, Oola, and the Rancor keeper.
  19. Go ahead and list them here if you don't want to share the commission with a site like eBay, people here will make offers. Otherwise, eBay will get you the fastest results.
  20. How long ago was it? Use your browser history to go back to see what pages you've visited.
  21. I'm going to assume you've never edited a picture. There is no way he edited in the other Tusken's.
  22. Shouldn't this thread be locked? These are Hasbro boxes.
  23. It's two layers deep, but I want the top layer to be solid, no gaps. All the pieces you've described would make the angles look better, but result in gaps. I could have the layer beneath it be the correct color for the scenario, but it wasn't what I was hoping to do. As for the wings, the two colors are there to differentiate the wings, so I exaggerate the shadow. Otherwise it wouldn't look like two wings together, just one fat one. Thanks for the advice. Maybe I should just create a different mural where blockiness wouldn't be a fault? I'll play around with some other designs.
  24. Where do you think most of the minifigs on Brinklink are coming from? Then you have to factor in shipping cost if it's not part of a greater order. But yes, I'm opposed to magnet minifigs in general, especially ones that haven been glued.
  25. Sounds more likely than $25, especially with 7 minifigs (no, a battle droid is not a minifig in terms of part cost.)
