[COR - FB 3] The Government House at Port Raleigh
blackdeathgr replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oh! Someone NEEDS a holy inquisition then?? Pff... Excellent multilayered MOC Ska! Great colors, great design and interesting stories are always welcome!! May you govern in peace (and in one piece) +1 from the great nation of Oleon! -
These are the ships we must see more often around here (at least in an archipelago more dense with islands) until the colonization of the new territory starts! And as others said, it is an example of fine engineering and i am tempted to steal, ehm... borrow your hull design for my own sinister, ehm godly machinations. This, along with smart sails and superb rigging, is what makes her shine!

A nice colored, cozy ship! I like it! One suggestion would be to add one more sail (the main one). But overall is a balanced vessel Keep building!

Hi Sparhawk and welcome to the grand nation of Oleon! Secrets are what make people (sigfigs that is) interesting! You will learn a lot here by merely observing and reading our always constructive criticism (and stabbing at each other's backs). But ofc we are waiting of you to show your fierce nature, as "people" around here, regard us as warmongering torturing guys THAT I ASSURE YOU WE AREN'T! Feel free to build at your own pace especially since family always comes first (Adam Sandler anyone?) Also don't hesitate to ask us Oleanders whatever you want, here, in our respective thread, or anything in general, in BoBS main discussion thread . Regarding your intro build, you can post it as a separate thread if you like. -
The color choice is excellent, especially sand green and dark gray coupled with my favorite arched windows! As other will say (i am sure of it ), front yard could use a bit of love. Some flowers or a little fence or a paved road would match your creation nicely. EDIT: Second photo shows A LOT more detail

I really like the unity of its colors and the way all that cargo is stashed on the deck. Also viking prefabs are giving him a fine shape. I envisage your ship as a barge (always class 2) sailing up and down the rivers full of sugar or cotton or for coastal waters sailing And GJ on your first ship! -

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

Amen to that bro! Only thing i wish i could do, is replace POTC minifigs with yellow faces and arms. But i love them so much, it hurts me to even think doing so . I know i have the fig-fever! So i end up trying to think that fleshies are a race of their own (just like caucasians, etc) and can be presented to MOCs along with normal yellow-leather minifigs (which ofc makes most MOCs not quite aesthetically pleasing). -
Whats the deal with the 2015 pirates line?
blackdeathgr replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Pirates
In order for a Wave to feel loved, it must have originality, an impulse set and above all, a "flagship" set. And by flagship i don't necessarily mean a ship (or a rehearsal of an older one) rather than a (medium to big sized) intriguing build that despite all criticism, if any, really stands out and gives color to that wave. Something like Eldorado fortress or Imperial trading post or even what 6253 was to the 2009's pirate line. Or Islanders sets even better. A think-out-of-the-box kind of set. I hope that next time TLG gets a manager to coordinate pirates line designers, will think of that and show us some love -
It will count as January's FB. Better wait if you want it to be your February's first FB

Houses are always needed, and pretty houses like yours are always welcome. Although too much green isn't to my liking! Try blue! Approved by Oleon -

Welcome to our pirate family! A nice clasic-feeling MOC you have build! Keep MOCing and observing. That way you will be building miracles before you even know it

Yeah, yeah, we got it. ETWC rulez!! Nice plantation. I don't know how oat can be replicated in LEGO form but yours at least do try to do so. Personally i would prefer the axles a bit shorter so as to be more "minifig scale" but i like it overall!

Lovely flag you have there Vedauwoo!! Ingeniously designed -
It was strange redcoats and red lions (medieval) appeared for this year LUGbulk. I guess it was in order to lower their stock since there arent any more pirate lines on the horizon for the next couple of years at least. But i was more than happy they got added. Plus we somehow lobbied for them to get chosen . I ordered 50 bluecoats + 50 red, so along with some others i got, i can easily replicate a 70 vs 60 battle. But that's it. Nowhere near Gary's Waterloo MOC :) Next year i guess only bluecoats will be around?. We are on G from "Gricks" and we got them September last year . But i guess capital control in our country also played its part. Anyhow. They will eventually arrive!

Things are indeed working and as far as i am concerned, i like it! But if things go the down way, expect some old blue vs red battling come around September (around then, comes LUGBULK)

January MRCA Escorted Trade runs

One question guys regarding escort operations: Do we have to visit THE EXACT colonies (e.g. every colony in a zone) visited by our trade ships or just state one colony on the zone we are passing? -
