  1. It looks good. My favorite part is the curved back, I think. I already have too many cars in my collection, though. After the 1989 Batmobile, Technic Supercars and Creator Expert cars, my shelves are starting to look more like a garage than anything else. I'll wait on this one. With the modular, Colosseum and Ninjago City Gardens, early 2021 is already expensive enough.
  2. Another picture leaked. Looks like a thicc box. We get a glimpse of that nice angle we see on the Fiat box art. Ooooooh, come on LEGO, give us a reveal.
  3. Nothing screams happy kids show like the dark endless void.
  4. Welp, there's a teaser for Sesame Street on LEGO's Twitter. TBH, my guess is that we'll get a reveal for that set this week or the next, and the Colosseum will be a late November / December release.
  5. Apparently TLG has made prototypes to change the CMF packaging from plastic bags to little cardboard boxes. It's a punch in the gut for people who want to feel the bags, but I guess it was inevitable considering TLG is looking for environmentally-friendly packaging. If it's hard cardboard, I'll probably just buy the figures I want from eBay. I hope they find a softer cardboard, like the one they'll use for the pieces inside sets. That way we'll still be able to feel for the figures. However, I doubt softer cardboard would be strong enough to resist tearing from feeling with our fingers.
  6. Oh I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the Colosseum. However, one has to admit that some of the Landmark sets that are basically four symmetrical corners (Taj Mahal, Tower Bridge) can become a bit repetitive in their building experience... I really want to see the set from a forward-facing angle. The shape looked good on a first look, but upon comparing with some pictures of the real thing: (Similar angle to that of the leaked pic.) The LEGO version looks a bit squished on the sides. Anyway, leaked pics are always tricky, so I trust that official pictures will do the set justice. Now, if only we got a reveal or a hint soon EDIT: I came across an article from Stonewars from October 5th, saying that they believe the Colosseum will be available starting November 27th - Black Friday, like the 1989 Batmobile last year. However, an article from Promobricks says that they believe it'll come out on November 1st! Both rather reliable websites, I guess we just have to wait another couple of weeks to find out
  7. An Instagram user claims that the 250$ set will be a modular-like Hogsmeade, while Gringotts will be the 120$ set. If true, I think I prefer it that way. I'd rather spend 120$ and get a nice facade to go with the DA, insteadd of the whole shebang with the vault, mine carts, dragon, etc. Don't know about the reliability of this user, though.
  8. I was watching a documentary on Mont Saint-Michel and I have to agree that the Colosseum may not be one of the best uses for 9000+ pieces...
  9. Is the Colosseum a November release? Or are the November releases the Saturn V and Ship in a Bottle? Seems weird that TLG wouldn't do any extended teasing for what is rumored to be their largest set to date. If it is to come out in November, maybe we'll get a reveal next week? The 1st is just over two weeks away...
  10. A picture leaked. Shape looks perfect, but I hope we get more pictures from different angles soon. I really want to see this thing from the same angle as it is on the Fiat's box. I hope official pics do it more justice, because right now I imagine a lot of the texture and details get lost in the blurryness. Anyone can make sense of the size of the set? I can't see any studs to count, but following a rough estimate of the slopes that form the base, i'd say the set is at least 64 studs on its longest side.
  11. Ended up pulling the trigger on the Cantina . Those minifigures really grew on me. I managed to rearrange my collection to make space on a couple of shelves, and God knows how unsightly empty spaces are in bookshelves! Also got Yoda's Lightsaber. I don't know what I'm gonna do with it. Just like the Hagrid & Buckbeak Brickheadz, I'm not really interested in it, but those licensed GWPs do sell for a fairly interesting price online...
  12. I really hope this guy is right, but it seems very sketchy considering he's kind of coming out of the blue as a leaker. I guess he seems sincere? Doesn't mean his information will be correct though, but at least he's not just a new Instagram account wanting to troll. Thankfully we should know soon enough whether he's reliable or not. January is right around the corner in... three months. Between Ninjago City Gardens, an (unconfirmed) modular and possible expansions to DA, January will be an expensive month.
  13. I would be all over a set of the Enterprise-D bridge or of Deep Space Nine. The more kid-friendly shows are probably not popular enough anymore for TLG to think it's worthwhile to produce it as a theme. I could definitely see a Star Trek set come out in the Ideas line. Sadly, it's one of the IPs that aren't allowed due to License Conflict.
  14. When do you imagine we'll get a teaser or an announcement for this set? If the info we have so far is true, I'd imagine TLG would want to release at least one teaser (or more), considering it would be the largest set by a wide margin.
  15. Isn't the Colosseum a 2020 release? I believe 10274 was postponed to coincide better with the release of the new movie, which would explain why its set number comes before the Colosseum, but is released months later.
  16. Wasn't sure about the scaled down versions of these vehicles, but I'm happy the sets will be more affordable for kids. If they're both real, they look good despite their size.
  17. I think it's this one: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=67139#T=S&C=11&O={"color":11,"iconly":0} ------------------------------ Good looking set, but I'm still holding on to my wallet until I see the Colosseum and the Ninjago City Gardens. Love the possibility of wall-mounting it.
  18. Promobricks has a list of the first 2021 wave. Looks like we're getting a cheaper TIE, X-Wing and Imperial Shuttle, but with reduced detail compared to their predecessors.
  19. It could be this week, it could be on the 15th. No way of telling, considering Diagon Alley was revealed the day before its release, while most other sets are revealed a week or two in advance.
  20. Having almost finished DA, I am very excited about the prospect of getting Gringotts in a future wave (hopefully in 2021). When can we expect initial leaks regarding next year's sets? I believe we got the first bits of info about this year's wave back in January.
  21. That's exactly what I was thinking. It doesn't really feel like anything new IMO. Just an upgraded version of something we've seen before. We never had an Ewok Village or a shape-appropriate Death Star and Cloud City before, which is why I think those three playsets were more impressive. Sure, this Cantina is bigger and can be nearly fully enclosed, but it really does just look like a combination of two or three 75052s. The minifigures are awesome and the side builds are well-detailed, but for what I assume will be in the 400 - 450CAD range, this one will go in the "low priority" pile. You know, unless the HD pics are a miracle, which considering how many beautiful D2Cs have come out (and are yet to come) this year, I hope they're not.
  22. Once in a blue moon. IMO the official LEGO Store & S@H are the last places you'll want to look for good deals.
  23. Might add 2 or 3 Bith musicians for the not-safe-but-doubt-they'd-be-excluded category.
  24. Just finished Ollivanders and Scribbulus. I must say, I'm liking the design quality of this reboot of Harry Potter much more than the latest Star Wars sets. I'll be building one building/baseplate per day. I can't wait to get my hands on most of the CMF and the Hogwarts students pack to add to the DA. Here's hoping TLG makes Gringotts in the same style as this set.
