LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Terrasher replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Apparently, the user who first posted the picture to the legoleaks hashtag says that it came from the official LEGO Instagram page itself, but it was deleted. He received a notification from Instagram saying the official LEGO page posted something, so maybe that's how he managed to snag the pic so quickly. If that's true, could a teaser be coming very soon? It seems strange that he'd be the only one claiming this. Wouldn't a lot more people have been able to see the Instagram post by LEGO before it got deleted, if they receive notifications? -

It looks like one of those HD pictures you find in the product page on the LEGO shop. The last few pics in the Diagon Alley page are kind of like glamour shots that showcase it in a fancy room. IMO, if this is real, I'd hope for official pics or more leaks very soon. Usually the first leaks we get are of boxes, stickers, minifigures or instruction manuals that have been found in the wild or taken from factories. This looks like a picture that would come with an official HD reveal. The question is... where is this coming from? -

An Instagram user (I think he was the first one to post the pic on legoleaks) claims that the place he got the picture from mentions the release date being on the 16th of September for VIPs. Last year, the UCS Star Destroyer was released for VIPs on the 18th, the third Wednesday of September, and revealed on the 5th - the first Thursday. -

Where's the leak coming from? Is it real? I'm curious to see the interior. So far, it looks exactly like what you'd expect a UCS Cantina to look like... There are a few builds that are separate from each other, but nothing indicating that it'll be as bad as AoH. -
Got my copy of the Alley this morning. Don't know whether to start right now or wait for the weekend! I'll get the Hogwarts students pack and the CMF next time I go to the LEGO Store. My store had about 30 copies of DA, and we were a dozen of people when the store opened.
-
I agree. This might be my favorite setup for a screen-accurate display when it comes to recreating that tight-fit aspect of Diagon Alley. However, I doubt anyone would be able to appreciate all the details of this set when there is so little space to look at the façades.
-
The CAD price is exactly what I was hoping for, so I'll be going to my local store tomorrow morning to grab a copy. I'm really glad the PS Harry is included in this set. That makes me worry a little less about a GWP extension. Still need to figure out the space problem...
-
Isn't the DA box the largest size before the thicc Millennium Falcon and Star Destroyer boxes?
-
Agreed. I understand an employee putting out a set too early, but an authorization from TLG? For a D2C? Mmmmmmh...
-
Well, yeah, why offer the GWP at the same time as the release of Diagon Alley when hardcore fans can buy the 400$ set now and spend an additional 50$ later for the GWP. I have no interest in the non-D2C Harry Potter sets (though that Astronomy Tower is tempting), but my plan for an eventual GWP is to buy the Diagon Alley on release, then wait to get the CMF to populate DA if and when a HP GWP comes out down the road.

DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Terrasher replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's a leak in the usual place that shows a sticker sheet and what seems to be the instructions manual, which does not seem like a mock-up. If the Tumbler and the 1989 Batmobile are anything to go by, I'd guess a couple figures at least. I'm not familiar with this vehicle, though. Is it from the 1989 movie like the latest UCS Batmobile? If so, does Batman wear another costume in the movie, or would TLG provide the same figure as in the 1989 Batmobile set? -

Woah, mama. I counted approximately 35-40 studs from the center of the cockpit to the edge of the right wing. If the model is 70-80 studs wide, then it is about 55-60cm wide. -

Well, this came out of nowhere. Box art and sticker sheet? When could this release? October? November? -
This is also a day one purchase for me. I'll be calling my local LEGO Store on the 31st to find out how many copies they'll have available. Hopefully they'll have enough so that I don't need to queue up too early.

I wasn't sold on the colour of QQS at first, but the more I look at the whole set, the less it bothers me. The first floor façades are truly spectacular.
-
I stand corrected. I thought those were products and decoration that belonged inside the building.
-
That they're literally on the back wall of WWW? This is a few notches above someone overlooking "Sheild".
-
Looks like TLG applied some stickers on the outside of WWW...
-
I love that picture of all the buildings separated. The set is huge. Now all I need to know is the Canadian price (and the release date? 31st?? 1st???)
-
The French website says "disponible le 31/8", which means "available on 31/8". I'm guessing 31/8 is just the reveal date, since it would be strange for it to be the release date. So TLG is really waiting until the last second to reveal this set, huh?

I was ready to ask you what made you think Mos Eisley would be leaked or revealed next week, seeing as most D2Cs have had their reveals just a couple of weeks before their release (usually mid- to late- month). However, seeing the reveal dates of the UCS Star Destroyer and Cloud City, I guess it would make sense to reveal Mos Eisley at the beginning of September. It just seems so strange to get a D2C reveal so far away from its release date, considering we've been waiting for the Diagon Alley reveal for a month over at the Harry Potter topic in the Licensed Forum, and the set releases in 8 days. Have there been rumors of an early VIP-access for Mos Eisley? It seems like forever since we've had one. -
I thought it was squishy because in some pictures it doesn't have that hard plastic shine. Instead it looks very matte like the old Bionicle Barraki eels.
-
I want to display the street in two sections to make an actual alley. However, I don't have 50cm-deep shelves. I'll have to see if I get something larger from Ikea or if I just put on my desk. If I have no choice, I'll just display it with all building on the same side, connected to each other on some of my Algot shelves. Between this, the Colosseum and the Ninjago City Gardens, I'm gonna need one of those huge storage shelves units you usually see in garages.

As long as we get a Gringotts along the same scale as this DA, I'm getting it. I'd imagine TLG would go the same road as WWW, even if Gringotts isn't a 90° corner. Though I'd prefer if it were a tighter angle, like in the movie.
-
Despite the colour used for QQS being the weakest part of the set IMO, the leaning windows & entrance of the lower floor sure make up for it! Still waiting for an official reveal to see what the Canadian price is. Hoping for 500CAD like Hogwarts and not more...
