  1. Does anyone have pictures of what the next Pick a Model will be?
  2. *spits coffee* 140CAN for the turbo tank!?? That is insane! I very rarely post about new sets -let alone complain- but this is ridiculous! 903 pieces, 4 minifigures and a shrunken Turbo Tank for 140CAN? I don't recall having this reaction after seeing the AT-AT, the Star Destroyer or the Republic Gunship. Maybe it's been a while since I've seen Star Wars prices.
  3. Does the AT-ST look enough like the OT version to be displayed with the Ewok Village or any Hoth set?
  4. Woah, only 250$?? I thought it would be 350! I hope it only amounts to 300CAD and nothing more.
  5. Good Lord, that set is a beauty! Definite buy! It will go inrcedibly well with the Tower Bridge!
  6. Yeah... it's been a long while since we've had anything as big as the Town Hall, the Green Grocer or the Grand Emporium. Where are we on the "political - residential / retail - business" cycle (if it has been proven to exist)? Should next modular be residential and retail? If so, I could really see a dentist office or a clinic of some sort along with a little apartment.
  7. Wow, the colour purple is very, very nice. The customization of the stickers' colour skyrockets this MOC's visual appeal. I haven't seen many MOCs depicting different kinds of Eta Interceptors. It's usually the Delta starfighters that get more fame, so seeing one of the Eta's is very welcomed.
  8. Mmmmh... looking at this set again... it's not as awful as I first thought it to be. Although the design isn't half bad, and the whole would admittedly make a nice display set, the price is very high. 300CAD is a lot, but, perhaps, by MOC-ing in the 7879 Hoth Echo Base, this set might be worth purchasing, especially for those missing the older set with the blast doors.
  9. Yeah... it looks nice, but I would have prefered more of the base itself rather than more trenches, more turrets and a completely unecessary wampa cave. The snowspeeder is justified. Even though we've had tons of them, there can't be an Echo Base without one of those. Shield generator and ion cannon are nice, though. Pass for me. 300CAD is too much, would have bought it if they'd have spent more bricks on the actual base rather than on the surrounding smaller builds.
  10. Man, I need masonry bricks. Those two old-fashioned buildings are beautiful!
  11. I've only ever bought the 8292 Cherry Picker set back in 2008 or so and am currently rebuilding it. I've been collecting Star Wars and modulars for quite some time now but have decided to move on from SW (it's too expensive of a theme) and give Technic a try since I've been interested in this theme for a while but never found the determination to put Star Wars aside. I'm currently only interested in the motorized sets, and the 42042 Crawler Crane is peeking my interest at the moment. Does anyone have any advice on whether to get the 42042 soon or the Mercedes Benz Arocs later? Also, I'd like to know if the non-motorized sets are really worth it. Race cars and whatnot don't really appeal to me, I'm more of a "service / construction" kind of guy.
  12. The Brick Bank, Parisian Restaurant, Pet Shop and Palace Cinema should be available in LEGO Stores. The rest you can purchase at insane prices on Amazon, eBay and whatnot. Or, instead of purchasing those that are no longer sold directly by the LEGO group at multiple times the original price, you can buy the individual bricks via Pick a Brick, Bricks & Pieces and Bricklink and pay much less than what you would if you were to buy the actual modular from someone having kept it to resell it after they're retired.
  13. I find myself to have the same problem as you do. I've been collecting Star Wars for the past five to six years but have also bought most of the modular buildings and the Tower Bridge (as well as a couple Ideas sets). I don't have the budget to buy all the expert Creator models (Ferris Wheel, Mini Cooper, etc.), but manage to collect the modulars and, if they are particularly nice, the landmark sets. What I do is collect the UCS Star Wars sets and, with my spare money, buy Creator sets. I too am a Star Wars fan and love the models TLG has been releasing, but there's too many of them and they are too expensive, so I just buy the two or three big collectors ones they release each year, since they're usually more iconic and pretty, and save the rest of my money for Creator.
  14. I hope it's not a speeder bike or the Landspeeder. Being the 40th anniversary, I want something bigger, more iconic and having more meaning to us Star Wars fans (preferably from A New Hope, because, after all, it's the one that started it all). Like, as others have said, a new Tantive IV or Imperial Star Destroyer.
  15. Woah... This is... this is absolutely incredible. The piece usage, the irregular tile insertions... I see tons of great creations every day and have no time to congratulate all the builders for their amazing MOCs. But this, this is absolutely beautiful. Well done.
  16. Hi I've signed up on the website Rebrickable today. Every time I come back and have to login (when I close and open back up my browser), no matter how carefully I write my password or e-mail, it always tells me that either the e-mail or password is invalid. I've now changed my pass three times because it wouldn't let me login without resetting it. I'd like to know: is this a known issue? Am I the only one having this problem? Thanks
  17. Has anyone attempted to bricklink the Fire Brigade? If yes, how long did the whole project take and how much did you have to spend? Same questions for a non-100% pure (replacements made) Cafe Corner.
  18. Can we see more pics of the front and back of the center section, please? This looks HUGE and quite heavy
  19. Most of the sets look good as they are. But some of them are begging for modifications to look great! Specifically Kylo Ren's Shuttle, which should be black and with the proper wing function, and the FO Transporter, which, although TLG had reasons not to do so (it's targeted towards kids), should be a bit longer. I wouldn't be surprised if TLG decided to remake Kylo's Shuttle ASAP.
  20. That probe droid is abysmal. Best version for me was 75014's. The turret is not horrible, though. It's been a while since we've seen those, instead of the ones with the dish. Although, the top looks a bit big and chunky for the body (still a nice representation). I don't know how I feel about the tan and beige plates on the trench. They look a bit out of place but still make sense to be there (perhaps a more battle-damaged / trampled area?). Not great, not bad, still a good set for Hoth fans. Thank you for the review!
  21. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being very unlikely, 10 being very likely), what are the odds that last summer's TFA sets will be on discount during the upcoming winter sale?
  22. Hi Does anyone know if the Volkswagen Camper Van will retire soon? I was wondering if this (Christmas) would be my last chance to acquire the set or if I still have time to get it sometime later in 2016. Thanks in advance Terrasher
  23. I once dreamt I built the Fire Brigade and left it sitting on a shelf beside the window. When I woke up to find it wasn't there, I got kind of sad.
  24. Minerals and whatnot. I'm glad my city has a couple of gemstone and mineral shows each year. Gives me a chance to admire the pretty shapes and colours I some day wish to find on my own while rockhounding.
