  1. It could have a ghost problem, good catch, but the real reason is I tried using fleshies for the patrons and I don't have too many of them.
  2. I feels like it belongs in a story book. Great work! You could add the wolf from CMF Series 14 to try to blow the houses down.
  3. Thanks for the kind words everyone. I had fun with the cheese slopes and used all the blues that I had to create the wave. Coming up with a somewhat realistic totem pole design that fit the space was harder than anticipated. Each of my kids like different sections of the museum as well so I am happy that different people like different exhibits. I like doing the interiors of buildings as much as the exteriors.
  4. Welcome to my Museum of Civilization. I wanted a place for all of my historical CMFs and thought a museum would be the best place. The former Canadian Museum of Civilization (now the Canadian Museum of History) is one of my favourite museums that had great displays that included people in costume. The ground floor has a First Nations exhibit with totem pole, and indigenous peoples from Central and South American as well as the Pacific Islands. On the other side of this level is a dinosaur display and although technically not part of civilization it is a nod to the Canadian Museum of Nature dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaur in the front hall reminds me of Sue at the Field Museum in Chicago. The second floor includes dioramas from Japan (with my rendition of the famous “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” wood block print), historical Europe, and the Middle East. The top floor houses the ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian civilizations and a gem display. I had made a previous MOC that I was not happy with, so I thought I would enlarge it on a 48x48 stud plate. This allowed for a more open and detailed interior. You can see a few more pictures on my flickr page. Hope you enjoy. 20160211_100217 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_100237 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_144106 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160207_115721 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_100424 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095521 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160207_115239 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095545 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135546 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135811 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135303 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135518 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135222 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095744 by Karen Metz, on Flickr

  7. This is perfect. Totally recognizable as Larry. Like the little touches like the banana.
  8. Wow, great first MOC. Everything is perfect and I like the little details as well like your lamp posts.
  9. I love this and all the little details. Great roof and the tree house sits perfectly in the tree. Thanks for sharing.

    10251 Brick Bank

The Laundry as a separate building is great. Nice MOD.
  11. This is stunning. It would be great to have this as an official lego theme. Good luck in the new job.
  12. Great build. It fits in so well with the other WV set.
  13. Thanks. I made it even more dark red, replacing the orangish tan brick layer with brick facade dark red bricks so there is less of a layered effect. I really like the muted candy cane vibe.
  14. The North Pole is a bustling place around Christmas. Hope you like the expanded North Pole scene. I have incorporated builds from my daughter's City Advent calendar this year, there is skating, skiing, snowboarding, and caroling going on as well as many snowmen that the elves have built with the snow that only seems to be at the North Pole this year (at least not much snow here in Ontario this Christmas season). Rudolph is practicing his flying. The elves needed a place to sleep so I added a bunkhouse for 2 of them to my general Christmas scene. I really liked Aliencat's Winter Village cottage so the bunkhouse has ideas inspired by that design. The elves of course have Hudson Bay blankets on their bunk bed and the fireplace lights up to keep them warm. The loft area has a quite reading area. Happy Holidays. 15. I love these buildings and they make an amazing cityscape. Fantastic work, thanks for sharing.
  16. Wonderful job, it looks just like the house from the movie. So many possibilities for scene additions like dogs making off with the turkey. Love to see the interior when done.
  17. Great rendition of a unique architectural building. Congrats.
  18. Thanks for the comments everyone. I loved Christmas window displays when I was a kid. I got to see the HBC windows in person for the first time this year and they have a very magical Christmas feel. I wanted to recreate them in Lego miniature for my home.

    Edinburgh

It reminds me very much of Edinburgh. Great work on the inside and outside. I really like the double wall so there is colour inside.
  20. Here is my completed MOC of the Toronto Hudson's Bay Christmas windows that I have part of in the Winter Village display. You can read about them if you go to that post. Hope you enjoy and comments appreciated. 21. Thanks for posting the real Hudson's Bay Christmas window and everyone else for their comments. I have posted my complete MOC of my rendition of 3 of the Hudson Bay windows combined into one building in a new thread. Cheers
  22. My entry is part of a larger MOC. Can I make a new post, not part of the contest, to get feedback on the completed larger MOC without violating contest rules.
