I created this Legoland scale figure of Charles Darwin for this year's Brickfete in Toronto. Darwin is writing his "The Origin of the Species" or in Lego pun "Oranges and Peaches". A Galapagos tortoise and finch sit by his side. He encountered both of these animals during is voyage as the naturalist aboard the HMS Beagle, which is pictured in one of the panels in the base. The base also contains a conch with barnacles. Darwin was somewhat obsessed with barnacles and spent 8 years studying them between 1846 to 1854. Thanks! Thanks very much. Those scroll pieces are very useful for adding detail.

This hardware store has everything you might need; fantastic interior! Great cast of characters as well. The hardware store looks amazing on the street and I really like the facade.

Thanks! Leia somehow seemed like the perfect choice.

Thanks so much! My actual garden is just starting to flower now, so it was nice to have a spring/summer scene early. There are so many great Lego pieces to try in different ways.

This is remarkable! I concur it belongs on permanent display! You must have been dreaming in tan and grey for the past few months.

Wow those mantees swim fast! Just received the A-FXs today. Thanks so much CopMike for the totally unexpected additions.

Thanks, I really like using the ornamental fence for things other than fences.

Marvelous Police Station! Nice details like the water fountain. Thanks for including your original drawing to see where the inspiration started.

Looks amazing, that is a lot of bricks and detail! I really like the design of your bike shed as well. These ladies have a fantastic place to stay.

Thanks! I can see the middle-earth shire feel with the lush greenery.

Thanks so much! Those quarter tiles are awfully useful and the pie ones looked like bathroom tiles/floor mats to me. I like figuring out new ways to do furniture and lights. Thanks for your comments and noticing the feminine touches, very much appreciated!

Thanks for the nice comments. It was such a lovely day outside yesterday and the ice finally went off the lake that week so I could take pictures outside. The piece is a 1x1 modified brick with scroll and a 1x1 round plate underneath. Glad you like the colours in the house. I used up all of my 1x1 plates in dark grey, light grey and beige trying to create random stone work. Thanks, Glad you like the details. They are fun to add.

April showers bring May Flowers. Just in time for Easter, I finished my Limestone House. A couple of pictures from the outside and a few of the interior. Hope you enjoy. Came across my Chocolate Frog box and wanted to create something similar out of Lego. Instead of containing a chocolate frog it has Fawkes inside, hence the Fawkes box. The Nexo shields work to create a domed pentagon shape. I used custom stickers to get the colours mostly right. Wow, so many great details packed into your firetruck and even room for four fire fighters.

These colours go together very well and the facades and roof are beautiful. The ability to take the sides off for playability is genius. I also really like your vintage car. Fabulous work!

A lovely police station and project to work together on. The sand blue is a great colour choice. Nice bits of humour added to the interior scenes, which are very well done. Congrats on your first MOC!

Love your dinosaurs. Can't choose my favourite between the ankylosaurus, parasaurolophus and triceratops. Great work!

T Thanks! The dragon was fun to do in miniature. Glad you like it!

Dragons are the best security a bank can have, probably why the goblins of Gringotts kept one in their vault. This is my mini version. There is an interior to the bank as well but it was too difficult to capture due to its small size. Thanks for the motivation. I originally followed the size of the Rebrick Mini Modular contest, which limited me to only do the centre portion of the building. I have completed Kingston City Hall in architecture set style. Below are some more photos of the finished model. I have also included a photo of the real Kingston City Hall for comparison image by Karen Metz, on Flickr image by Karen Metz, on Flickr image by Karen Metz, on FlickrThe back isn't very detailed, to reduce the number of parts. Celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday in miniature. This is based on the centre section of Kingston City Hall in Ontario, Canada (I have added a photo of the entire building). The City Hall, built in 1844, once served as the Capitol for the province of Ontario and is a Canadian National Historic site. For random part usage, the round sections above the clocks and above the entrance are the tails of Daisy and Donald Duck. image by Karen Metz, on Flickr KTown City Hall Mini by Karen Metz, on Flickr KTown City Hall Mini by Karen Metz, on Flickr Kingston City Hall Mini by Karen Metz, on Flickr Kingston City Hall Mini by Karen Metz, on Flickr KTown City Hall Mini by Karen Metz, on Flickr
