This is fabulous and love the touches of humor like the PJs. I especially like how it opens from what initially appears only to be a speaker.

I love how overgrown the village is. It certainly has an abandoned haunted feel; perfect for a Scooby mystery. Great work!

A great series of CMFs. My favourites are the Southern Businessman, Puppeteer, and Architect, but it is really hard to choose since they are all well done. Would love to see them made into a series!

Here is the Swinging Wake beside an altered Haunted Mansion. I made the front columns more substantial and changed the interior dining scene, losing the kitchen and expanding the table. I think the larger columns are more in keeping with the Disney mansion but the smaller columns are more elegant. I changed the windows which add more light and hope that it doesn't appear too crowded in the interior. Hard to fit in all of the iconic ghosts and scenes, which make the ride so special. Any comments are appreciated. image1 (1) by Karen Metz, on Flickr image1 (2) by Karen Metz, on Flickr

So glad you recognized Captain Culpepper Clyde's crypt. I had to sneak it in there even though it is only in WDW. More sets based on the theme parks would be great, especially with the minifigs coming out.

Thanks for the comments! I had a lot of fun collecting enough glow in the dark and white heads for the ghosts. There are not a lot of different ones available to make all the ghosts unique (particularly glow in the dark). From what I gleaned on the web I think there actually is a frog in the pet cemetery at Disneyland. It is Old Flybait and not Mr. Toad (which is only at WDW). I have only been to WDW and am luckily going to Disneyland for the first time this summer so will have to check it out in person. Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 8.34.04 PM by Karen Metz, on Flickr

"When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, Spooks come out for a swinging wake! Happy haunts materialize, and begin to vocalize. Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize!" I created this graveyard scene to go along with my Haunted Mansion. It includes many of the ghosts that can be seen near the end of the ride in the Swinging Wake scene. There are two sections, one of which also includes the Pet Cemetery. I changed the iron-work on the Mansion to black from the original white (the white tends to look better in photos but in person the black looks more like the iron grill work found on the Mansion. Good catch, I know Mr. Toad is in Florida and was going to include a disclaimer. The weathervane is also a nod to WDW Haunted Mansion. I tried making a ship but it looked too large even in micro scale so I went with the bat instead. I have added tile to the second story floor and the bathroom so it is easier to see the elements. Haunted Mansion Upstairs by Karen Metz, on Flickr Here is the picture of the main floor too without ghosts (well one still there). Thanks for the comments. I don't know exactly how many bricks I used, but it is probably between 3000 and 3500.

Haunted Mansion Disneyland’s New Orleans Square “Welcome Foolish Mortals, You are hereby invited to a spirited adventure in the home and estate of a prosperous yet departed sea captain, Captain Bartholomew Gore. Alas, the sea captain and his family long ago met an ... untimely ... end. The mansion is now home to 999 ghosts, ghouls, and goblins. Enter .. if you dare!” haunted mansion 1 by Karen Metz, on Flickr My rendition of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion closely resembles the Shipley-Lydecker mansion, Imagineer Ken Anderson’s inspiration for the attraction and includes many of his original concepts as well as iconic ghostly scenes. It is built on a 32x32 base plate and is fully modular. Not all 999 ghosts can be seen but many have a home. Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 4.52.49 PM by Karen Metz, on Flickr “Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat; call in the spirits, wherever they’re at!...Let there be magic from regions beyond.” Madame Leota by Karen Metz, on Flickr Inside Madame Leota Toombs welcomes visitors to the home and has summoned the house’s permanent residents. The long departed sea captain sits in the living room trying in vain to warm himself by the fire. The library is stocked - only ghost stories of course. A pair of ghosts wait for their meal that they will never again be able to enjoy in the kitchen/dining room. The size of the dining room is a lot smaller than in the attraction and the kitchen is based off of a concept drawing that was never incorporated into the ride. Haunted Mansion 1st by Karen Metz, on Flickr Haunted Mansion 1st Floor by Karen Metz, on Flickr Behind the central grand staircase a grandfather clock chimes that the witching hour has begun. A pair of ghosts dance to music begin played on instruments without apparent players. The stretching gallery adorns the walls of the staircase (images from Avastindy on Deviantart). The Hat Box Ghost is ascending the stairs and nearing a strange picture of a young boy that appears to change while you look at it. Haunted Mansion Stretching Room by Karen Metz, on Flickr Haunted Mansion staircase by Karen Metz, on Flickr Singing busts by Karen Metz, on Flickr More ghosts, including the captain’s wife, a weeping Priscilla who was entombed behind the bricks in the fireplace by her husband, are haunting the upstairs. Eerie music emanates from the organ being played by a ghostly figure. I wonder if he met his untimely end from the axe wielding black widow bride, Constance Hatchaway standing behind him. In Master Gracey’s bedroom a small ghost plays with her teddy bear on the ornate canopy bed. A few more ghosts and ghouls can be found in and around the house as well as the caretaker and his trusty yet nervous dog, who has found Priscilla’s wedding ring that was thrown out the attic window. A toad seems to gaze on the remains of another, “Here lies Mr. Toad. Sad but true. Far less popular than Pooh.” while being serenaded by some singing bust statues. When (and if) you leave please don’t pick up the hitchhiking ghosts, Gus, Ezra and Phineas. Great project that is fantastically executed! Love seeing these.

Thanks everyone. I did not know whether to call this a MOD or an MOC because it uses mostly the Friends sets as the inspiration. I used 2 supermarket sets and only one cupcake set. The rest of the pieces came from my collection.
-
I don't have a grocery store in my Lego town and wanted to modify the Friend's supermarket. The grocery store is loosely based off of a small local independent grocer. I added the cupcake shop on the second floor since we all need to indulge sometimes, and its entrance is at the rear of the building. A few more photos are on my Flickr page. Comments always appreciated. It captures the look of the car perfectly. Impressive!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful cathedral. I really like how the dark tan mixed with gray brickwork compliments the green roof. Nice tree, organ, and stained glass as well.. Good job!
-
Very nicely done, so much more grand than the friends version. I particularly like the roof.
-
A great bookstore that very much looks like the original. Inspires me to visit Amsterdam for the architecture.
-
It is. My kids got it for my birthday for just that purpose. A wonderful present that keeps on giving. And I still have hundreds of tan cheese slopes for more MOCs.
