  1. What is really interesting is the listings, which actually sold, involve elements not even produce in particular colors!
  2. No, that's this person's, who is also a member here…
  3. Thanks guys Since there is a bar through the pin, keeping the prongs expanded, wouldn't that overcome the detriment of it being compress? As to force a perspective that the slopes appears linear than what it actually is?
  4. It seems like once I improve something about the Snowspeeder another possibility for improvement arises right after—like a domino effect! But that is in no means a complaint, because it is quite an exciting experience knowing that it is all for the better of a quality build, and it is such a delight when it all comes together so soundly! Now when I made the first finished version of the T-47 Airspeeder, I threw together, to what I now consider, a shoddy display stand that just happened to work for the aircraft, because of how the underbelly was designed. Well, since I completely redesigned the cockpit, the entire body of the snowspeeder, that fragile section, which gracefully and conveniently joined the wings, went away without a second thought! Then I noticed this topic about display stands and came across this fascinating tripod design by someone who goes by "yellost"—I love triangles and the number 3. Here his is original design: The concise use of the train roofs for the base sold me on this amazing design—it is simple yet visually interesting! What more that had to be done before it was ready to display the T-47 came in the process of some refinements to the structure, per my requirements, and some reworking so it will accommodate the speeder efficiently and securely. And now here is my rework of his with the WIP T-47: The hinge brick provides a mount for a decorated round 2 x 2 tile, probably sporting the Rebel insignia (only if there exist the tiles with it printed on). Otherwise, it could mount a custom made UCS detail sticker. Negatively the wing would hang over the display card considerably, which could make viewing from above difficult, but I personally will not be displaying a sticker (it is just for those who would be interested); I feel the 8 x 16 tile hurts the aesthetics of the sleek stand. Besides that, I need to test the stability.
  5. They were actually used to prevent the enemy from retreating by hyperspace—no survivors! Great work Raskolnikov, I especially like the gravity well generator bubbles and the greebling done in the middle surrounded by the wedge plates!
  6. Yes, what I have experienced with managing the building instructions to generate coherently, unconnected pieces or assemblies will always be the first step of the guide, even if they are grouped too. They probably could be easily connected with open, round plates with a bar through them. *EDIT* I just realized that there are studs inside the middle ring element, which is physically impossible. It could otherwise be done with these elements:
  7. Uhm, I recall the lizards featured in that scene being smaller monitors and iguanas. Komodo Dragons can grow up to 10ft (3 meters) in length (and probably to dangerous to be tamed on the set)! But yeah, I agree with you, some new lizard molds would be nice!
  8. In perspective to the elements used, you could realize how oversized it is compared to a minifigure. I think to ever have a GONK droid at right size whilst being representable, Lego would need to make a mold for it. Though, great job on the GONK droid hachiroku!
  9. Wow, both of yours profile pictures are so similar that I for a moment mistook you two for the same person, but I remember that legocharles did his a while ago…
  10. Re-uploaded the LDD file for the old Snowspeeder version—for any who is interested. *FILE REMOVED* *EDIT* I will be publishing version 2.0 soon…
  11. Alternatively, this element could be brick-built with the 4 x 1 curved slope & a few plates!
  12. Yes, I could again just re-upload the file that is already up there.
  13. Besides the fact that there is this issue with the attachment files continuing to break (dunno if it has been resolved yet), and that I am still in the process of making improvements to enhance build so others will enjoy the experience, you are currently in the state of "New Member," which prevents access to particular actions until you accumulated 10 posts. If you have any other questions, you can check the site's FAQ section or ask one of the responsibly obliged members of the staff. Oh and I believe there is a rule that advises to not openly post your email—welcome to Eurobricks!
  14. I am in the process of finishing version 2 of my T-47 Airspeeder with improvements to the design, structure, and build of my T-47 Airspeeder, and in this exciting adventure involves rectifying the illegal techniques involved—as a part of my endeavor to render a quality model. So I was reading this PDF of builds that are considered illegal connections, presented by Jamie Barard, then this particular example caught my attention because it was present on my model as the tips for the laser cannons, and now I am prompted to address this area with additional revisions : ) There is not much of a big dispute over the half Technic pin not snapping into place since the transparent-red bar runs through it, but which design do you like, the one one on top or the one on bottom?
  15. Well the thing is that it is not a smaller scaled ship like the airspeeder or the Naboo Starfighter.
  16. Uhm, maybe I could borrow one of the vast Hoth dioramas that are out there? If anything of that sized I would want to do one of an imperial staging area on the planet Cardia, with vehicle depots, barracks, a shield generator, etc., and some invading Rebel forces, as would be experienced in the Star Wars Empire at War real time strategy game.
  17. Yeah, the tow cable is pretty an impractical design; I don't see any airspeeder transporting cargo efficiently without it dangling around dangerously, unless there is a group of airspeeders towing along as well. Neither have I heard anyone refer to evacuating something, unless they were referring to living things or some sort of transportation (which can take on personification). Anyway, I assume that the origin of the name came from the creative people behind the design. Yeah, it is unfortunate, as there is no other simple way to replicate this detail so concisely. Though there is the trans-black hinge plate that only appeared once in a very prized UCS set, which the only one of those parts available is just a mere CA $249.99)—that is the definition of rare . Regarding the retirement of the sunroof element, I assume it was because the fingers of that hinge plate holder broke easily, but they certainly can improved the design. Too bad there is already word of another UCS Snowspeeder planned for 2016, though, I do not know if Lego will ever return to making smaller sized minifigure-scaled vehicles for their UCS line; I think the last one was of the Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter.
  18. Yes, "Snowspeeder" is the name used by the toy industry, just like "(Clone) Turbo Tank." Though since it was an airspeeder modified for the extreme weather conditions, such as the snow (to some extent), so technically it could be referred to as a "Snowspeeder." Well, since the medical droid said "To evacuate the T-47s," I would assume he is referring to a vehicle, dunno? And I suppose those "Smaller modules," Luke was referring to could be of those vehicles that transported cargo within the base?
  19. Yeah there is this issue going on recently with the attachment files continuing to break after some time, and I am experiencing it as well…
  20. Nice part usage—you did a terrific job on this. I also like the use of the 4 x 4 wedge plate, with a cutout, it transitions seamlessly to the other.
  21. Yes, that was one of the weak points of this design, but I believe the roundness of the panel corners minimizes that to a certain degree; adding more to take in. Also I believe that the perspective of the model will be enhance once it is constructed with physical bricks (which is the usual of things coming from a computer screen).
