  1. Wow, a whopping 10,000? She must be more than what meets the eye! Anyway, you did a fantastic job on this vehicle, especially with how you managed to join the panels almost seamlessly. I also like how designed the rear turrets; how did you accomplish angling the sides in such a narrow space?
  2. Yeah, the attachment links keep breaking for some odd reason—Oky has made a topic explaining his experience of the same issue (though I did not read anything about Eurobricks resolving this). The file that is up there now, which is currently broken, is of the old version which can be quite fragile in reality, but I am almost finish with the updates that I promised to accomplished to improve the build, and I will upload the file soon after. Quick question, what does the Boba Fett helmet tag signify?
  3. Oh, I apologies for causing the confusion, as those pictures that I uploaded came from a while back, when my model was still in WIP phase (page 2, post #34). Back then when I made the switch to Lars' design, it was because more vanes could be crammed in there (which a part of my obsession for accuracy). However, in light of updating my Snowspeeder again, I realized how difficult it would be for someone else to reconstruct Lars' heatsink and how fragile it is… Then I remembered your design and why I fell in love with it in the first place; the concise use of the panels was so simple yet most effective, and especially eye catching since they feature rounded corners (like the studio models). Thank you again ecmo for your design, and I will still be sure to lookout for any pieces only hanging by a stud or two!
  4. Thank you. Though the radiator in the back, or the heatsink, was originally designed by someone named Larry Lars whom this is his Snowspeeder, though I advise you to NOT leave a comment there since the topic is old. Anyway, in wake of restructuring some areas of my Snowspeeder, I have come to disfavor Lars design, because of how puzzling difficult it can be to build, as well how fragile it can be. Before, when I was designing this model, I was wildly over obsessed with getting the details accurate as possible, even if it meant being poorly structured, resulting in a fragile. However, since redesigning and restructuring my AT-AT as well, I have grown out of that obsession, and find it most enjoyable when the build has a pleasing balance between details and structure. In this direction, I want to see if I can implement ecmo47's design for the vanes of the heatsink (or radiator). Here is his below: Though I will make a few alterations to it, like I have done before:
  5. . Though you have to admit that some of their builds can be remarkably well structured—even to the point of being impressive. Anyway that is something I am working on for the wings today, a better structure, as they can break apart pretty easily since they are mostly bricks, as well as alternatives for rare or discontinued elements. Indeed on all of those points. However, in this situation where LOBOT-OMY does not have access to LDD, building from the HTML could be quite difficult; especially if there is not the luxuries of the ability to adjust the camera on the model or the animation of the bricks falling into place. With designing the generated instructions for the sections of my AT-AT, I so much have had great success in manipulating the program so that the building guide comes out coherent as possible. So it is certainly doable, but it just takes diligence.
  6. Hi, I was looking at the generated instructions for the snowspeeder and it worse than I would allow to be published. The program is all over the place, with illogical steps and physically impossible floating pieces, which LDD is infamously known for, if some sub assemblies of the model are not group properly… If you are not in a rush, I would appreciate some time so I can polish up the model and the generated guide, for you and everyone else.
  7. Ah right! So much discussion has been buzzing in hear I hardly ever look back at my original post—thanks!
  8. Thanks phaelon for helping out. Though I have had a change of heart and I am all for contributing to this community, and will make the files available once the model is finish—whenever that will be!
  9. The closest matching paint color to LBG, that I have had previous experience with, is RAL7040 (also known as Window Grey). The brand that I would prefer (also the only one that I could find) is available here, and offers a variety of lacquers from ultra flat to glossy (which the gloss lacquer one has a sheen of about 90 units, which I believe is on par with the Lego elements).
  10. Unfortunately there is no pdf, as I have no experience in designing instructions or know anyone who has a lot of time on their hands that would just do it. This is why it would be so convenient if LDD was made available on tablets, and if they implemented a sign-in feature so you can access your library of models from whatever device or computer (I have to get this idea across to Lego). However, I could probably, somehow, upload the LDD generated instruction HTML, but I quote myself: I still have yet to finish those improvements, and LDD has this queer demeanor of generating the steps for the instructions in a illogical and sporadic fashion, unless the assemblies are properly grouped—so that would be more work to accomplish. However, if you want the HTML of generated instructions for the old and outdated version regardless, just say the word, and I will see to it if it can be done.
  11. Your welcome; it's a pleasure contributing to this community. It has not been smooth sailing with the walker. It seems like when once something is solved a new issue arise . Though of course that is a part of the process The current problem is that I have four legs each adjusted in a different position, and because so, they do not stand leveled (some stand high, others lower, and some in between), and with the limited angles of the Technic turntable it is not such an easy fix to counteract the offsets. The position of each leg has to work within the limitations of the turntable, though if one set of two legs shared the same position and the other set of legs another, (in which those certain positions work with the turntable), that is a possible solution, but not a very dynamic looking one… Besides that, I have updated and improved some details of the leg, as well the stability of the legs when bent (because with only a single joint it is significantly wobbly, just as Fuppylodders warned some pages back). Some time back I had typed up the full details of this update in the comment section (which was considerably long, especially longer than this), but I accidentally quit out of the window browser, and Eurobricks did not autosave anything that I wrote . Well, anyway, still working on the updates for Snowspeeder, and I probably would of had them released sooner, but I also have been multitasking with heavily revising the design of my AT-ST. In all of this I am keeping my mind off the frustrations I had with the AT-AT & Eurobricks' comment section .
  12. Thankyou. The front windshield is indeed from Speed Champions (18972), and it works perfectly because its tallness allows room for the minifigure to sit upright and the element slopes all the way to the top; covering up the the 1 plate thickness of the roof. However I hope at some point Lego will produce a windscreen exclusively designed for the Snowspeeder; just like they did for the new X-wings.
  13. For some odd reason the original file could not be downloaded, but here is the file re-uploaded now featuring the Speed Champions windshield. Although I am working on implementing some revisions to the structure of the aircraft where some areas are weak, probably in addition, finding alternatives to some rare elements (such as the sunroof element), and the illegal connections.
  14. Hi, thanks, and apologies for getting back to late, but I will certainly re-upload the file and get it working for you. Though, I do note that the connection between the wings and the body, which involve modified plates with clips, does not hold up so well after a while; they ended up breaking. I am currently revisiting that area with implementing & to improve the connection, as well as improving some of the structure, so I will release an updated file with those revisions as soon as I can. However, if you cannot wait, which I certainly understand, I will upload the old file until then.
  15. Ah, I remember this scene in that 'Tales' book. Fantastic work on the base!
  16. I'll take it as long it is not an underwhelming rehash of 75054, like the snowspeeder from the "Hoth (non existing) Assault" set. Also it would be nice if we get some new pieces featured exclusively for this particular set.
  17. Well, you could replace the 4 x 2 wedge plates with a & , but then that area would be raised a half plate. Alternatively, you could construct the wings with a brick design, which would make the wings a half plate more thicker than what you already have, but maybe it will not look that bad. Otherwise, you could hope that Lego will finally make tiled wedge plates, though whenever that will be…
  18. The DSII tag is awarded "for consistent positive contributions to the Star Wars forum." I know pittpeguin123 wouldn't qualify for that! …
  19. Such clean lines—is this even Lego anymore? I especially like the plain DBG area that the wings fold over, as well how smooth they fold over, and your use of the modified 1 x 14 brick with a groove!
  20. Outlandish and weird. It is taller than it is longer, a shorter neck, the heavy laser cannons have been emplaced on the cheeks, and that protruding yellow armoring on the body, etc. It would be reasonably if it is a predecessor, but as it mentions in the text that the AT-DP (introduced in "Rebels") coexists in the same universe with this AT-AT, so why would this walker de-evolve from the model featured in "Rebels," or evolve in ESB yet to only de-evolve with a longer neck (as that is its most critical weak point of the walker)? I feel that these eccentric changes to the design is all unwarranted, as I assume the timeline is not so far off from The Battle of Hoth, though it might make more since if it is a different version of the AT-AT, since it is after all designated "AT-ACT."
  21. It looks fantastic! Though are you looking into any solutions for a design that features open view ports?
  22. Oh, I forgot Duple was compatible with System—phenomenal work!
