[Contest] Build to the Future
Jurss replied to BusterHaus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've built allready rear axle with cardan, like it is used by BMW. I'm just thinking about possible future. BMW allready have their vison, prototype. Great vison. They also made real model (not flying) of LEGO B-model hoverbike. So it will be pretty hard to come out with some special idea. I'm afraid, that winner will be just something good (very futuristic) looking. In fact, there are allready 2 entries - both hoverbikes. I'm planning to stay on the ground, becauses that's the idea of motorbike, in my opinion.- 9 replies

Big or Small
Jurss replied to TechnicRCRacer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like to build more like small, because somehow it's easyer. I tried to build something big, but I just can't :D But it's true, that mostly in TC will win something big, even that there are smaller builds with great engineering, to fit functionality in that smaller model. You have pretty bad steering geometru there? Why did You add those gears to fron wheels? -

I like hat idea with that coupling gear, to get better control over steering. That is something new for me. I also like small car cretions.

Both recently this set. There was good offer with damaged box in local shop. Didn't planned to by even, but proce was very good. So built it. Run out of inpiration for TC11, so started to make modifications to this set. Everything started with this, because it was so annoying for me Then I rebuilt handlebars with brake levers Then replaced rear lights with flat ones Then installed water cooling Also I didn't liked that grey axle, so I made somethong on the bottom part of body. You can see changes also in previous picture Then disc brakes (they are on both sides of the wheel) last thing now is red side panels in place of black (i don't put stickers)

Steering is clever, and used also in some real cars. The middle (under) part of car looks too complex, it seems, that it could be made sipmlir and with better clearance. -

[MOC] Race truck - FDT
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Axles marked with red lines. They are partly covered with tubes, which prevents rear part from shaking side to side. Those are 2 from 3 connections points to fornt part of car. 3rd is so called power joint. -
