[MOC] Fury Supercar
Coola1 posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here is my new MOC, it's my second super car and I think it's a lot better than my first. I'm not sure about the top speed, but it's reasonably fast since the XL motors drive 36t gears, that go to 12t gears and then the differential. It's 99% done, might make some small aesthetic changes if you guys suggest any. Specs: -2 XL Motors for RWD with differential. -1 Servo Motor for steering. -V8 Engine. -Full independent suspension, 2 hard shocks per wheel. -Working steering wheel. -Only one seat, so the interior is quite empty and dull . -Manually openable doors. Pics: Sorry if the pictures aren't very good quality, was using my phone. Some of them got a bit weird with the lighting. Video coming soon. Any feedback is welcome !- 16 replies

Ok I guess that makes sense. We will have to wait untill it's in stores to find out, unless Sariel gets it early for reviewing (I hope that does happen, and soon.

I think this gearbox is more complex, since you dont have to use the battery box to change direction of the output, meaning more drive rings. Please correct me if Im wrong.

You shouldn't worry much, thats the differential working. It transfers all power to the wheel with less strain, I guess the wheels on the right are a little tighter than the left. But don't worry, because when all wheels are on the ground, both sides will be spinning. -
I joined when this contest was already well in motion, so I didn't enter. Looking at all the amazing entries definitely makes me want to enter in the next contest, but for now I'll just be voting. Any hints on what the next contest will be about?

I'd say since it isn't 100% ready yet, they just put a random number to fill in the space on the box. -

Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately I only have 2 L motors. I'll probably use 2 XL motors next time I make a car like this. I might use a locking diff in a future model though, thanks. Yeah I totally agree with that I feel I used a bit too many panels on this model. It all goes to the list of things to work on in any future models. -

Thanks, that really means a lot coming from an expert like you! -
Hi there, I'm a "new" builder with not a lot of experience in building MOCs. I started this project to sort of get the feel of building a super car, since I've never really built one before. As you can see, it isn't the prettiest of cars, It's a little too boxy and there are a bit too many stacked liftarms. I focused more on the functions then the looks, I'm sure my next super car will look a lot better. Specs: - 2 L motors for RWD with differential. - 1 Servo motor for steering. - 4-speed manual gearbox (Sariel's Enzo gearbox). - Front and rear independent suspension. - Working V8 This was a great experiment to see how well I would do, and I think it's ok for my first try . Also, I learned that it is definitely better to use XL motors for big vehicles, this car doesn't have enough strength to run at full speed on the 3rd and 4th gears. Pictures: V8, receiver and battery box Easy to take off hood Not very detailed interior Underside I'm gonna try and make a video soon. Thanks for reading, any suggestions or comments are welcome!
