According to an Instagram user who has been leaking 2019 sets, there will be a new theme coming next year that was abbreviated on BrickSeek as "AL". There will be at least nine sets in the first wave, and three of the sets will be priced at $5.99, $14.99 and $19.99 respectively. I'm posting this here because I'm fairly sure that it will be an Action theme and I don't think there's a topic for it yet. Speculate away!

Alright, that's a little too pessimistic I think 2020 would be the latest date for Castle to come back. Now that Elves is likely gone, the only thing in its way is Harry Potter, and the two have coexisted before on numerous occasions.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I see in that article: Nowhere in there does it say that it's still one of Lego's best selling lines. Of course we can assume that, but I'd just like to point that out.
-
Well yeah, it'll stay evergreen until it isn't. I don't think that the failure the TLNM helped its case, either. Bionicle was never declared evergreen because that term wasn't in use while it was out. If we were to take TLG literally, could we assume that Ninjago would still be around in 100 years? Obviously not, because eventually kids would lose interest. The only themes that Lego confirmed truly would never be permanently discontinued are City, Castle, and Space, and even the latter two take long breaks so they don't get stale.

Here's my theory: This isn't Ninjago's last year. Next year is. That year would be 2020, the tenth anniversary of the theme. Yes, I'm aware that Ninjago has evergreen status, which it received in 2015. 2020 is SIX years from then. That's more than enough to fit the label. This year, they'll probably bring back old sets in the winter and maybe not anything at all in the summer except for an exclusive or two. In 2020, they'll create one more new storyline as a "Final Battle" to wrap up the theme. I think that would be perfect. Now look, I get that a lot of people here like Ninjago (This is literally the Ninjago thread so I would assume so ) but all good things have to come to an end. Ninjago was saved by the fans and got an extra seven years. Hundreds of sets. If it doesn't got past 2020, I think it's safe to say that complaining about that is literally just greed. You got everything you could ever want with this theme, and it's truly amazing what the designers have been able to do with the sets and the story. It's one of the largest Lego themes of all time, and it even got a full-on movie with dozens of sets of its own. It'll be remembered, just like Bionicle is, by lots of fans. They might even reboot it for a couple years at some point in the future. But if it's done, it's done.

Yeah but his point about HP and Bond still stands. The Bond thread only have confirmation that something was coming, and the HP thread was literally based on a rumor that I'm pretty sure turned out to be false. A month and a half is a really long time to go for a theme that Lego probably expects to be popular.

It's possible that they're all constraction figures. This might be a way to tide over the Bionicle crowd until the next in-house constraction theme. However, the fact that until just now no one had posted in this thread since June 25 is kinda telling. Call me a pessimist but I'm sorta expecting a dud

There's been some talk today about Elves being discontinued by the end of the year. Is it possible that Lego is clearing space for a new Castle theme?
-
That's probably the sign. It make it a year longer than I thought it would, and it was a good run. In all likelihood this was the final wave.

My recommendation: 1. KK2, to get your disappointment out of the way first. 2. Fantasy Era. It'll take a long time to build because there are so many sets, but it's worth it. Four different factions as well as Dragons and Wizards can go a long way. 3. Castle 2013, as a slightly mediocre palette cleanser to tide you over. 4. Kingdoms. Arguably one of the best Castle themes ever. It's set up to be in decreasing levels of wackiness.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
BrickJagger replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really doubt that we'll be seeing anything new in the way of NK aside from the magazine gifts. That said, I hope they throw us a bone at some point and include Macy or Clay's hairpieces in a future issue.- 1,601 replies

We haven't gotten any concrete rumors for next year yet. If we had, a topic would have been made by now.

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
BrickJagger replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ehhhh....these aren't that good. Emmet and Wyldstyle are in every set, which is a negative. The Unikitty set is okay, but the truck is a blatant ripoff of TLBM's Batmobile and the spaceship is extremely overpriced. Hopefully the full wave is better, but I do recall not being impressed with the first Lego Movie's sets, and the full wave turned out to be great. -
Slope piece is still used for minifigure dresses...?
BrickJagger replied to MattedBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that there should be a new skirt piece of some kind. The current slope looks too blocky ( ) and comes off easily due to being more like a brick than regular legs. Another thing is that I would like the skirt to be moveable to get some "action" poses.- 42 replies

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification. Although we're getting Overwatch, TLM2 and possibly a new Big Bang theme next year, those will all be January releases, while a Castle theme would come out in the summer. If it's coming then we probably won't hear anything until the fall.
-
That's actually a solid theory. Still surprised that we haven't heard about the next Big Bang in any capacity yet, though there is a possibility that there isn't one coming next year.
