  1. Thanks for the picture, it's much appreciated. Based on this I think it'll be minifig scale and about $200. I also think that it'll be the only set released this winter, and more HP will be coming next August.
  2. Ninjago is related to Ninja, but Lego never said that Ninjago was a Castle theme. Ninja was only really a Castle theme in the first place because it was set in roughly the same time period, but Ninjago is set in some sort of futuristic City. Nexo retained its Castle vibe by presenting itself as a far future in which society still stuck to medieval practices...Ninjago didn’t. Ninjago is its own theme, Nexo is a subtheme of Castle. I don’t think the world will implode if a new Castle theme and Ninjago ran side by side next year.
  3. If you want to get super technical, there were Castle sets released this year. Now I’m not even going to attempt to convince you that this year’s NK sets have even a smidgen of Castle-y theming, because they don’t, but in Lego’s mind, it’s a Castle theme. Therefore, Castle is still an evergreen, and it was even confirmed a while ago that regular Castle was just taking a breather during NK’s run. I can’t be the only one around here who’s positive, right?
  4. If that's the case, you probably won't be seeing those in the winter. The set names revealed so far are already enough for a large wave, and with TLM2 coming out in January I don't think TLG would go much bigger than that.
  5. He's certain it's fake because he's just2good. You gotta trust him on these things
  6. That's disappointing if it's true. I get that re-releases appeal to newer collectors but I own all of the buildings (besides the Toy Shop remake) and it does nothing for me. Simply changing the color and a few minor details doesn't warrant a re-release. However, if they're going to make a significantly different cottage, I would probably buy it. That would satisfy both new and old collectors of the theme.
  7. That's a reeaally light wave. Mostly just Juniors stuff and Microfighters. Interesting. I'm not getting my hopes up just yet about the Clone pack, but if it's all 501st I'd be stoked.
  8. Great work as usual, Gary! You've really nailed the realism on this, aside from the mummies of course.
  9. My bad, didn't look back at the original post when I was typing that. It's currently planned as a trilogy, that's why I said that. I guess we're in agreement, no?
  10. "Evergreen" is a very specific term that only Lego can determine. Just because something has run for a long time doesn't mean it's evergreen. To date, the only themes officially declared as evergreen are City, Space, Castle, Star Wars, and Ninjago, if I recall correctly. If JW is not evergreen for that exact reason. Lego only makes sets for each new movie, and they don't make JW sets in years without a JW film. JW is a trilogy, and after the final film comes out in 2021, Lego will discontinue the theme.
  11. Minecraft and Speed Champions are not evergreen, and I actually see Minecraft ending the second kids stop playing the game, which could happen soon. Jurassic World will likely be discontinued after the third and final JW film is released. You likely won't see more JW sets until if/when Universal decides to make more movies. Yeah, it'll last as long as NK for sure. Evergreen is another story.
  12. Mark Stafford said a few years ago that Nexo would be around for a few years and that Castle was just taking a breather. If it's not coming back next year, it'll be back the year after. There's no evidence that it's not testing well with kids. I was proposing a Historic/Castle themed series next year, and then Castle coming back in 2020 after HP's hype has died down.
  13. It varied from place to place of course by where I am more kids were buying Hobbit than LOTR. No one was interested in the third wave but the first two sold decently from what I saw. Again, I'm not saying that was the norm (and it very clearly wasn't) but I would think that more kids were buying Hobbit stuff as opposed to LOTR simply because the Hobbit movies were just coming out and LOTR was a decade old.
  14. Yes please! If Castle doesn't come back next year, the next series should be entirely historical. Same with Space the following year.
  15. I agree. Either two small waves for 4/5 and 6/7 or one large wave for all four movies is a given, as well as a second CMF series. It gets a little dubious beyond that point though, although as I said I expect three or four sets for the last three FB movies each time one comes out.
  16. Yup, this is a big disappointment. For the first time in a long time, I'm going to spend $50 or less on the entirety of next year's winter sets, at that will all go to TLM2. After that, all I can hope for is that CMF Series 18 is normal and the very slim possibility of a Castle theme in the summer.
  17. Do you think children are going to want several Ministry of Magic sets that are essentially large gray buildings? I don't. I also can't see three more CMF series happening, maybe one or two. By the third one you'd be into obscurity once again. Regarding LOTR, a surprising amount of children seemed to be into the Hobbit movies when they came out. I think it's a fair comparison, albeit a bit rough. Nonetheless, my earlier post was less about LOTR and more about not getting overconfident.
  18. Since they already made two of the most iconic locations, as well as two full CMF series, I doubt we'll see anything else.
  19. Just a thought: Given the price range only seems to go up to $20, and the high number of sets, that might rule out an Elves replacement. However, Mixels was also in the 41- range. Maybe AL stands for "Alien Life" and the sets are Mixel-like aliens? Would that make it a Space theme? I could see TLG trying that out as a sort of low-budget test run to see if Space is commercially viable while SW is still churning out films.
  20. Just to clarify, of the nine sets, there will be one priced at $5.99, one priced at $14.99 and one priced at $19.99. The prices for the other six are unknown for now. I haven't been able to find the set numbers but if @Falconfan1414 is right and they start with 41-, I think this will probably be just another minidoll theme. There's still hope though
  21. Don't the current ones have udders? I could swear that they did.
  22. The current one seems okay. What would you change about it?
  23. Just as a precaution, I'm gonna leave this here: don't fall into the same mindset that the LOTR fans had. It's crazy how that was so recent but everyone has forgotten about it. The LOTR 2012 thread was the second biggest thread on the whole site because people kept raving about how LOTR was "going to last for at least ten years" because "there's so much to cover" and "LOTR is one of the biggest fanbases in the world". I'm starting to see that here, don't get too overconfident for your own sake because you'll end up disappointing yourselves. Of course you should appreciate what's out now and hope for more but don't expect it to run for ten years, because the odds are against that happening. Or, they covered the first few movies this year because they're covering everything in chronological order, and after they cover the remaining movies in the next two years they'll stop making sets. "Clearly" is a strong word here.
  24. Some people think every theme is going to be an evergreen. I'm actually beginning to get sick of that term HP will probably sell well, and I think it will end up like POTC: Another wave of sets based on the original films, and then a couple sets each time a new FB movie comes out. HP has a habit of popping in and out: Active from 2001-2005 Discontinued in 2006 Brought back for one set in 2007 Discontinued from 2008-2009 Active from 2010-2011 Discontinued from 2012-2017 Active from 2018-? I think that pattern will continue. It's more popular than LOTR, so it will keep coming back. It is not as popular as Star Wars, so it won't be around every year.
  25. Where did you see set numbers?
