Some fantastic ideas on this thread........ now if only LEGO would sit up and realise how much life is left in this theme.

Well i think that would depend on how long WB hold the rights to HP for. I suspect they would need to renegotiate this with Rowling. Don't see that happening. more likely that if she ever writes another book (she said she isn't) that they would do something like a cartoon from it.

Fatastic news about the sets and nice to see Mirandir vindicated, well done mate! Loving the sound of most of the new sets, does anyone else see a Yavin base in our future?! I'm going to be broke.......................again!

These are really good Geertos! you're a man after my own heart, love to build MOC's with a good animation in mind. I like Slughorn. As good as Jim Broadbent is in the films, he is nothing compared to how i envisioned him in the books. i actually saw him in my mind as looking more like the actor who played Vernon Dursley.

A Grimmauld place set would be a very welcome set to everyone on this forum. Probably not that many minifigs. I'd settle for Harry and some members of the order we haven't yet seen or need redoing. Harry, Sirius, Tonks, Moody and Kreacher I'm afraid they would never release a battle set with that many minifigs, I think the most recent Hogwarts set is as much of the battle of hogwarts as we'll see. The only possible additions i could see would be something like a special edition Room of Requirement set you could add on to the castle or a remake if they were continuing the theme of the chamber of secrets as it was a main playset and re-appeared in the final film.

Who's Ian? Doesn't sound like a very cool glactic name.

It's a good question but I'm not sure it would do justice to Jabba's palace. If it only has one minifig at a time with each set then it wouldn't sell very well I don't think. Can you imagine a kid taking a small box up to his mum and dad saying, "I want this one Gamorrean Guard with a handful of bricks, so that i can fit it to this other pile of bricks i got with Bib Fortuna." Just don't see that happening, I think we're more likely to get something like a miniship on a display stand with an associated minifigure. I could be barking mad though.

Not a bad idea, but then we don't have to have prizes. We could do it for the sheer enjoyment, MODs should be allowed too.

good point, crazy. If they wanted to round off the collection nicely it would be good to have a few students from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff and maybe even Professor Slughorn. I am disappointed they never did a Tonks or Shacklebolt figure.

bit of both actually Legocrazy, it has been said a long time ago that they didn't like to have more than a couple of licenses on the go at anyone time but i can't remember when it was said (i know it was quite a while back). things have changed though and if it makes them money they will do it. SW has been renewed on a multi-year license so that is definately back but honestly I have no idea about the others. I really hope I'm wrong and I hope we have official news soon. I'd love for at least another year of Potter but TLG have dropped it many time before when it could have easily been kept going. i hope the games have kindled a lot of interest because if it makes money then they would be mad to discontinue it.

Well i don't blame you at all, but the framing of the photos was particularly good. You can teach photography but it's not so easy to teach people how to frame things artistically like you did.

[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
Vindice replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
After finally seeing this set in the flesh I was well impressed with it. Not a big fan of the podracers generally but i may change my mind after seeing these! -
My first comment here, is great MOC! love the feel to it, and at that sort of size and detail you should do a whole castle! Would be a massive undertaking but I'd love to see it in this scale. Second comment, after having just been to your flickr gallery, your photography is awesome! There are some really great pics on there and I'd recommend anyone who hasn't already clicked the link to do so.

I do agree on the Bacta tank. It'll be interesting to know how this set sales as it is far more like a traditional city playset that the kids go for in a big way. If it goes well, we may see a lot more like it. Wookies is a much better name, maybe they wouldnt have had all their financial problems if they'd had a better name.

Wow the old Kenner AT-AT! I still remember buying my first one over 25 years ago. It cost £25 I think and i saved my pocket money for over 4 months to buy it. I can't save nowadays, when new SW Lego sets come out i want them straight away.
-
If only they would, can you imagine the shock if they unveil a whole new wave for the winter, add on sets for the castle and a UCS style Ministry of Magic! until then, keep on MOC'ing friend.
-
Sad as it's a really good license. I would've liked to see a flying dutchman but I'm not too hopeful.
-
Very true statement, what I was thinking though, was that HP is ending and deserves a proper goodbye. A superhero comp will be excellent when the sets are released.
-
Well the price will be determined by a number of factors with weight being a key factor. Don't forget a reasonable number of minifigs which seems to be a common theme in most SW spaceships nowadays even if you can't fit them all in. I'm comparing it more to the BH gunship and T-6 shuttle so that sort of price looks reasonable.

Scummer?! I wasn't aware these lowlifes hailed from Southampton too!! PLAY UP POMPEY!!

I was in Legoland last Monday and I'm sure the Hoth set was available for £79.99 could be wrong on that as i only took a quick glance at it.

I agree that the UCS sets are a totally different story, they are aimed at the serious adult colelctor of which there are thousands but Cloud city was a playset, if there is a call for it to be made then it should be made available even if there are limited modifications. I'd much rather see TLG release an older set with little to no modification so that kids can have the chance to re-create scenes out of Empire with it, than see it in the lock-up of some Lego profiteer that buys them just to sell them on some day at four times the original price.

A new X-Wing makes perfect sense as there is a new Tie Fighter coming out. kids want to recreate the battles afterall. People have been mentioning about Ep.1 sets coming out in summer to conincide with the theatrical 3D release but isn't the release date in February?? If it were February then that would be perfect for the January wave as the toys would already be in stock in most stores. I think if this is the case then we can expect no more Ep.1 sets after January, as it would be a little pointless. I think it's scheduled release is the 10th or 11th of Feb

Probably right there, if it's time to say goodbye then it should be no holds barred really.
