I am amazed Lego haven't already explored the ideas of Ancient greek mythology or 1001 arabian nights more fully yet. There is a sequel planned for Clash of the titans but I don't see it happening. Besides the original is still better!

Review: 7779 The Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit
Vindice replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Superb set for the price. What can you get for ten notes nowadays!!?? Awesome review again Penguin. I so wish this theme would return. Do you think theres a chance for the final film? -
Review 7780 The Batboat: Hunt for Killer Croc
Vindice replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for another great review Penguin. Personally I'm more interested in the minifigs for MOCing purposes than the sets. I like the Killer croc figure too but would've preferred a greyish green colouring for him. Thanks for the great review though. -
Review 7781 The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape
Vindice replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
I really wish I'd been collecting when this set was out. I'm apalled when i see how people profit on these sets on ebay, it was a big mistake stopping the Batman sets in my opinion. Fantastic set especially at the retail price and the review is outstanding Penguin. 10/10 for the review alone! Can't wait to read the others now. -
Harry Potter Winter Break Contest Voting Thread
Vindice replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
This feels like Eurovision!! I considered not voting because I really would love to award somethign for all of them as there are no bad entries but I am going to give some points. cara - 1 point cutlass Iz - 1 point Mayday Artist - 1 point Sirius Black - 2 points (awesome work!) I could easily have given marks to all the others though so sorry for anyone who i didn't vote for. -
What a great idea for a thread. WB also has Harry potter don't forget so don't tule it out completely. There has to be something to appeal to Lego in terms of the scope it gives them to produce sets. Vehicles, playsets, and a theme consistently popular with boys. I'd love clash of the titans but i just don't see it happening. Avengers is a real possibility to me but i actually hope that with Lego preferring to concentrate on less themes, that they decide there is nothing new worth pursuing and so continue with the PotC and HP ranges. Wishful thinking though!

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Vindice replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Great sets! Thankfully i'm slightly underwhelmed by most of them which may save me some money! Some great hairpieces though and I love the QAR. If the prices are right i could be tempted. -
Very nice, only just noticed this one. Love the way it opens out!

Fair point, "I stand corrected" (says the man wearing orthopaedic shoes)

I don't think it's a given that Ron and Hermione will be in the Battle for hogwarts, but for TLG it makes sense to have the most marketable characters in the big sets for casual buyers and kids. I personally think the only definates should be Harry, Nevilel and Nagini. I would say definately Voldemort if he wasn't already rumoured to be in the forbidden forest set too.

It was a great contest and kudos to the guys for running it. I'd love to see another contest soon. May be something along the lines of everybody doing one room out of Hogwarts Castle itself??

I think it's a great attempt for a first MOC! Nicely done Gregorovich. I agree with willdog actually, it looks very much like it could be an official set. I like it when playability is a contributing factor to someones design, I know everyone has their preferences and that's mine.

Pissku it's a nice house and you should be happy that you did something in such a small amount of bricks. maydayartist, i'm gutted for you. Your entry was sensational. Good luck to everyone for the voting!

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 3 Building Contest
Vindice replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Outstanding entries! I think they could wrap the category C contest up in a week! if they don't its going to be one long thread!! -
As a beginner to MOCing I would love to see somre sort of dedicated space to this. I've got a Great Hall MOD currently in the HP section but I'm not sure if people go in to here to view it if Harry potter isn't their thing. Could there be a section for MOC WIPs that people can post to? And I do like the idea of sub topics on building techniques if they were quitespecific.

REVIEW: 7326 Rise of the Sphinx
Vindice replied to Bricknave's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review first off so thanks for that. Unfortunately I'm just a bit underwhelmed by the Pharaohs quest theme. A lot of kids are interested in Ancient Egypt (and Adults) but i think they would gravitate to the far more authentic looking playmobil sets. I think Lego have missed a trick here but I will probably be proven wrong! -
Brilliant! I think this is excellent, Exterior is great and the interior is even better! Well done.

I think the only reason that the Knight bus was made was due to it being a vehicle and Lego love making vehicles. (Just look at the Atlantis and Pharaohs quest, not to mention SW. I agree that for a building to be made it has to be in one or more movies or be a scene of particular action. For this reason I hope they will consider a ministry playset. It's one of the most action packed locations! I think the next 3 sets could be related to the final film:- Dragon escape from Gringotts (with Helgas cup?) Room of requirement (Harry, Ron/Hermione plus Malfoy Crabbe/Goyle and may be The Rowena Ravenclaw bust) The Cave (Harry, Dumbledore, 2 inferri) The reason i say all of these is that we could end up with all the horcruxes. They are also scenes of great action and contain the main characters. Dumbledore needs to be available in a cheaper set for kids too i think.

This comment sounds wrong!!

Thanks for the decals! They are excellent. Any others in the pipelines?

Another nice steampunk MOD. Great imagination.
-
I agree totally! It's the reason i got back into it last year, I wanted a hobby i could do with my son and a toy that was stimulating to the imagination. Plus it's one of the most family friendly toys alongside playmobil. Comparing it to Transformers is like asking who would win out of a fight between King Kong and Godzilla.......... there will never be an answer!

Thanks for this, I actually just found them. Sorry guys i didn't look properly! My bad. It's going to be expensive isn't it?! i wonder how much a SW AFOL generally spends on lego per year.
