I think this is a really good point, Lego is not an action figure line. I would love to see a wave of collectible SW minifigures but the purpose of lego is construction and if selling too many figures separately meant lower sales of the sets they usually come with we'd soon feel the effects as investment in the sets themselves would reduce.

Good news about the HP game! Aside from giving us a faint possibility of some more sets it was one of the best TT Lego games in my opinion ranking just behind the SW complete saga. With "The Dark kinght rises" due next year there is a chance for more Batman sets. I think we'll have either more HP or new Batman next year and i would be pleased with either. Batman and Indiana Jones never had a DK book release either so I think the signs for more Potter sets could be more positive than some of you think. 2 games, the DK book release and a massive film release. Lego would be crazy not to cash in unless the sets are underforming in sales which seems very doubtful.

Amazon.co.uk had the new sets on their site last week all with a release date of August 1st, but now they've gone! I'm still concerned we won't see them in June.

Well for anyone who's interested in the UK, Argos are selling the Isla De Muerta set for just over £16 and the Captains Cabin set for about £8.50. It's a small saving but betterthan a kick in the teeth. I think everything is expensive now! With the price of petrol being so astronomical now I hardly notice the lego costs.

I agree, i think the sets look really good. Personally I would rather spend my money on other sets but son has his eyes firmly fixed on this set along with the millenium falcon so i will probably end up getting them. It's going to be a very expensive summer!

Is it confirmed for June release in Europe? Brickipedia has the dates up as August but is this just for America? If you'reright then we only have a few weeks to wait!!

It's down at the moment. I've noticed that fewer people seem to be using it now, I think most have migrated over to Flickr.

Good luck with the Hogwarts Castle! I'm trying to do something similar myself but am altering bits slightly to give it a more open layout for stop motion filming. 4842 is a great set in my opinion. I'd suggest waiting for a big retailer (sorry i didn't see which country you are in) like Tesco, ToysRus or Argos to do one of there 3 for 2 sales and gettign at least 3 and selling off the minifigs and instructions and possibly even some accessories you may not need. I did this myself and ended up paying just over £200 for 7 castles worth or bricks and a full set of minifigs! Also get ready to place a large brickorder on S@H for a lot of tan bricks, baseplates etc. You will probably also want to make some custome decals and minifigs so do check out the customising forum here on eurobricks. People like LuxorV and Tin7 are incredibly helpful and have doen some great designs.

Violence has nothing to do with it, if it makes money they will make another game. Although it hasn't been confirmed yet there is a strong belief that there will definately be another game. What i'm not so positive about is that this will necessarily mean any new sets. I think the HP license has run it's course as far as TLG are concerned. I'd love them to continue but if Pirates of the Caribean is a strong seller then I think this will bump it. I think we may get one more exclusive though................. I hope so anyway! I too loved Battlefront but there won't be another. There were problems with the studio which canned it.

That's fantastic. I'm really in two minds about showing this to my 4 year old boy or he'll want me to try and build one too!

Is the April 16th date I've seen posted a worldwide release date or US only? There is no mention of any UK release dates and the lego UK shop@home site has no information on it yet.

I've only just started to collect lego SW as my oldest boy had been more into HP and City. Unsurprisingly he is more drawn to the new clone wars sets than the OT. In view of this does anyone think they will re-release the AT-TE and republic gunships anytime soon? I don't want to pay exhorbitant ebay prices for these sets and i'm not overly keen on the clone turbo tank. Sorry if i'm asking something that has been asked before.

Finally i can come out of the closet and confess my love for hello Kitty! I can't stand Lego really I just come on here because I don't have any real friends....................... I sure hope this isn't an April fools joke!

A Kraken would be great! The tentacles from the Atlantis "Gateway of the squid" set could be good. I think the Atlantis range as a whole is a good thing for POTC because of all the head moulds. Tia Dalmas voodoo shack could be a real good idea!

If I were you I'd get it before it's gone. I have to say out of all the sets I've bought (and that is a lot!)it's the best value by far.

Great call Captain! The noose scene is a nice brickfilm idea for someone too! Sounds like a great looking scene. Looks like some requests are going to have to go in to the ever helpful LuxorV, Tin7 and crew for some custom decals!

When I look to get into a new Lego theme I instantly start thinking about the potential MOC ideas. If nothing interests me then I probably give it a miss. In light of this, I've just decided that I probably will invest in some POTC sets after all. I thought it might be fun to know if anyone has already earmarked some good MOC ideas or vignettes to go with this promising new license. Let your imaginations run wild! Tortuga? The pirate court? The black pearl interior?

Does anyone really think there won't be a Flying dutchman set?? If they went to the trouble of producing a mould for the crewmember in the mill set then I'm quite confident we'll see Davy Jones. Unless the whole first wave does worse than PoP (unlikely) then I think we will see a lot of sets, with the flying dutchman being one of the most prominent.

What a great start! Really like the thought that's gone into this. Looks like a large brick-order is about to be palced! When are you hoping to start/complete it?

Where were we?? Oh yeah the exclusive minifigure! I think Harry in his yuleball attire is possible. I think it's also one of the only outfits that is in the game that you can't get.

Has a bit of splurge on Lego this weekend and bought the Bounty Hunter gunship, grievous starfighter and now this! Got my 4 year old to build it which took some time but was great fun. The playability of this set is great and he loved it. My wife who usually casts a disapproving eye over my lego purchases (especially Star Wars as she thinks i'm trying to indoctrinate my son!) thought this set was actually really good value and was impressed at the size of it. great review, great set and a great weekend building and playing lego with my family!

This series looks awesome! Didn't like series 3 so this more than makes up for it.

You may have to consider building yourself a new wife out of lego........... might be all you have left.
