  1. Love seeing this sort of stuff, great work! I think my favourite is the All Terrain Magnetizer. Interesting that you based the Y-Wing off of the UCS rather than the system scale set like the rest. The Outland TIE is fantastic, it almost has no business being among the rest of these stylised models
  2. So I built the Jungle Dragon last night, and honestly I’m a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the finished build is still good and I will proudly display it alongside my other dragons, but this set offers significantly less value than say the Overlord Dragon in my eyes. The Jungle Dragon may be bulkier, have 2 extra figures and a side build but the Overlord Dragon is cheaper ($50 vs $70), significantly larger, has figures that are just as good and has an equally unique color scheme (dark blue and purple vs teal). Given a choice between the two I would take the Overlord Dragon all the way. Complaints aside I do recommend the Jungle Dragon. And also... TEAL
  3. I also picked up the Jungle Dragon and will probably build it sometime this week. Very much looking forward to seeing that pile of teal parts. Managed to find skull sorcerer’s dragon for 50% off as well, what a fantastic build that was. Also, you can totally sign me up for Space Ninjago with some Space Snakes. Snake Jazz, anyone? As long as Ninjago keeps up with the excellent set design they can do whatever they want with it as far as I’m concerned. Ninjago has been leaning into a bit of a cyberpunk feel these last few years, especially with the Ninjago movie and city sets and the video game-centric wave. Taking it to space would allow them to go full sci-fi and I would love to see it.
  4. I like these! Consistent designs with just enough changes to add personality. I especially like the Hordika chestplate used in conjunction with the CCBS parts, and Lewa's blades are very fitting.
  5. Primarily collecting Star Wars sets makes me forget just how vibrant the LEGO color pallet actually is. You've done an awesome job. Lovely ornate exterior, brilliantly designed interior... definitely one of the better modular MOCs that I have seen.
  6. The only thing this is missing is two kids stacked on top of each other wearing a trench coat.
  7. Alternatively Bail's Speeder could be a set on it's own akin to Han or Luke's speeders, figures could be Bail, Mas Ameda and the Padawan who's name escapes me but he was played by George Lucas' son. A 501st trooper or two would probably make more sense but slipping Mas Ameda in there would be better IMO. Yoda vs Palpatine could be a duel set like Mustafar or Starkiller Base. These Coruscant based sets remind me of an idea I had a while back. I might've posted it in the old thread but I'll repeat it here anyway. Coruscant Playset in the style of modular buildings/Ninjago city Pricepoint: expensive Modular style Coruscant built on one or two baseplates. I envision this having two towers, one shorter than the other, with ample space in between for figures or vehicles. The back of the buildings would probably be open for play and every floor can be removed for easier access to the level below it. Some creative liberties would be taken to ensure everything fits in, but I think fans would forgive the inaccuracies if the execution is stellar. Much like the Death Star represents episodes IV and VI this would primarily represent episodes II and III, with some Clone Wars references in there as well. I'll start with the shorter tower: Forming the base of the tower we would have Dex's Diner, though it would be kind of small it would still have 2 booths and a bar. Building on top of that we have a walkway representing any old pedestrian area that we often see in The Clone Wars. This would be relatively open but there would still be support for construction above it. The interior section on this floor would be Galen Erso's apartment from the flashback sequence in Rogue One. Creeping up along the outside of this tower would be a minifigure elevator encased by circular transparent pieces, the "glass" can swing open on hinges to provide easier access for figures and the floors of the building can be removed without affecting the elevator spire. There would be access to the elevator from dexter's diner and it would lead up to Padme's apartment on the top floor. The distinctive round windows of her apartment would form the roof, and there would be room for her balcony. The second tower would be the larger of the two, both in footprint and height having 4 levels instead of 3. The bottom floor would be the Outlander Club, the bar that Obi-Wan and Anakin chase Zam Wesell into at the beginning of Attack of the Clones. There would be a bar, two or three small tables and one of the walls would be decorated with screens. Above the Outlander Club would be another, thinner walkway with some fancy billboards behind it. This is the area where Zam Wesell and Jango Fett meet to discuss the assassination of Padme. Behind the billboards could be a bounty hunter hideout to store weapons. The walkway on this level would continue onto a bridge that connects to the other tower's walkway. If the towers are built on separate baseplates the bridge would remain connected to the taller tower I am currently describing. The next level on the tower would be a rather small rendition of Ziro The Hutt's palace. There won't be much space left after the hutt is placed inside but there would still be room for an audience to stand. There would also be a small prison cell on this level. Protruding out of the building in between Ziro's palace and the top floor would be a landing platform with sufficient space for an included vehicle. The top floor of this tower would be Palpatine's office, with a breakway play feature in the window. There could also be a rooftop balcony above this. Finishing off the set, Anakin and Zam Wesell's airspeeders would be included as well. Included figures: Episode II Anakin, Episode III Anakin, Episode II Obi-Wan, Episode II Padme, TCW Padme, Episode III Padme, Zam Wesell, Jango Fett, Dexter Jettster, FLO (waitress droid), Galen Erso, young Jyn Erso, Elan Sel'Sabagno (deathstick guy), Ziro The Hutt, Ziro's assassin droid, Chancelor Palpatine (Episode III), Mace Windu, Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, Saesee Tin, 2x Coruscant Guard Clones, Cad Bane and a brick build ASN-121. I'm so in love with my own idea that I just might have to make a MOC of it
  8. Thought so. Interested to see what it is. Obi Wan’s starfighter would be good to see again for those who missed it last time but it’s probably just going to be another Snowspeeder
  9. I’m well aware of the YouTube videos, gotta know where to find them if you want to downvote them. We could see a reveal of the shuttle soon, we saw first pictures of the Razor Crest around this time last year even though it was a September release. There’s no $130US set but there is a $30US store exclusive that we don’t know the contents of, right?
  10. Fantastic rendition of such a cool looking and underused ship! Love the interior details. Awesome work! Even less than the Knights themselves.
  11. While we’re on the topic of the bad batch shuttle I saw someone on Facebook suggest that it’s releasing on May 4 to tie in with the show. I don’t think it’s true, because when has a Facebook comment section ever been a reliable source, but just thought I’d check here with the bothan spies. It’s coming August with the rest of the 2HY wave, right?
  12. The original UCS R2 scales pretty much perfectly with BB-8. It’s off by a centimetre or two, but on the shelf together you can hardly tell. No telling if the scale will carry over to the new one. If I had to guess, the new one is likely to follow the trend of being smaller but more detailed than the original (though I would much rather see a direct rerelease). If that ends up being the case, BB-8 could end up looking too big next to him (kind of like last year’s D-0 model, I skipped it because it didn’t scale well).
  13. For me to get the new R2 the model will need to be a significant improvement, I’m talking a retractable telescope in his head, concealable rockets in his leg, the whole nine yards. Even if they make these changes I’m not sure if I’ll want to “replace” one of my favourite sets. I certainly wouldn’t sell the old one for sentimental reasons. Even if I do like the look of it I probably won’t buy it until next year after the 2HY UCS (please be the AT-AT ). But if LEGO decides to throw Beru into the homestead GWP that plan may change. I’m glad they’re giving this one another breath of life, it’s a great set that everyone deserves a chance to get. Hopefully they do it justice. Still holding out for a UCS Lambda rerelease next.
  14. @Mandalorianknight I voted for the gunship, fully expecting a massive model that takes up the entire shelf with no thought of minifigures put into the set. Hopefully it’s going to be one of the most needlessly big sets that LEGO has ever released. If that’s the case I’m all for it. What I was expecting in terms of figures was two pilots, never thought we’d get more than two figs in the set. In the box where it asked what figures I would like to see I think I put 2 pilots and 4 gunners. If the set does end up using the Jurassic World ball pieces for the turrets and the Jedi interceptor cockpit piece, minifigures would still look small but it would be passable (kind of like UCS Y-Wing).
  15. Oh boy, new wishlist thread! Where do I even begin? Seeing the downsized sets this year is fantastic, would love to see more of them but honestly they can be smaller and cheaper. $80 is still far too much for an X-Wing. The midi TIE Advanced from the Death Stars/Vader’s Castle is the perfect scale IMO. Fits a minifigure but is still an accurate model with no unneeded “detail”, and most importantly it’s small so it would be cheap. There’s nothing more that I want to see from LEGO Star Wars than that model and ones like it being released as their own sets. All wishlist prices in AUD because I’m tired of pandering to the (albeit much much MUCH larger) international userbase so you guys are gonna have to do some conversions for once. $16 creature “microfighters”. Boga or Acklay with Obi-Wan, Nexu with Padme, Blurgg with Kuill, Sarlac with Boba Fett... there are many options $20 - Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced (or any other TIE really) with Vader minifigure. Other TIE Variants could easily be done at this price point too and could come with a TIE Pilot instead $20 Jedi Starfighter range - Eta 2 or Delta 7, both are possible at this price point. Figures are Jedi Pilot and astromech. Throwback to the days of clone wars sets where we got a different coloured one of these in every wave. $20 Bespin duel with Luke and Vader. Take only the catwalk from 75222 and release it without the rest of the model $20 Death Star duel with Obi-Wan and Vader. Vignette with sliding door and an exploding play function integrated into the model somewhere $20 Anakin’s airspeeder with Anakin and Padme $20 Zam’s airspeeder with Zam Wesell and Obi-Wan. Also brick built ASN-121 droid. $30 - X-Wing with one pilot and a rebel fleet trooper. Also an astromech, because astromechs should not be substitutes for a normal figure $30 Battle packs, because the past has shown that $23 is not enough and $45 is too much. Finally give us vehicles that aren’t oversized, and 6 troopers instead of 4. $30 - TIE Bomber with Pilot, and either 2 stormtroopers OR 2 bounty hunters from Empire. This TIE variant is larger than the others and needs extra pieces. $30 AT-ST - take the one from 8008 and call it a day, no design work needed and more needlessly oversized walkers. Figures are Chewbacca, an Ewok and AT-ST driver $30 Slave I - rerelease of the Slave I from 75222. Ideally recoloured to be Jango Fett’s version. Jango, Young Boba and either Obi Wan or a Kaminoan. If LEGO insists on doing Boba’s again, figures should be Boba, Han with carbonite block and Bespin Lando. Alternative set of Mando figures: Boba, Fennec Shan and Cara Dune $30 N-1 Starfighter with Naboo Pilot, Queen Amidala and an astromech $30 Podracer range - includes podracer pilot, an appropriate companion (I.e. Padme for Anakin, Watto for Sebulba) and a pit droid. Gotta cut this post short for now but will probably add to it later. Also chalk me up as someone wanting a UCS Shuttle rerelease. Old one looks perfect, no need to redesign it for an excuse to bump up the price.
  16. It’s not too much to expect to be safe from spoilers on a lego forum, especially when the rumor only made it here so you guys could speculate on if a figure is coming or not... isn’t there a separate thread for speculating future figures? Yes she was rumored for months, what does that have to do anything? Just made it all the more disappointing when she did turn up and and it was meant to be a surprise. As I said before the 2019 discussion thread ruined that too, and if I remember right the mods tried to get you guys to stop spoiling things back then too. What do you have against people wanting to be surprised as the filmmakers intended?
  17. Guys, stop with these casting rumours, please. You think you’re being subtle but you’re really not. This forum already ruined the Ahsoka and Bo Katan reveals ahead of time for myself and a lot of others and now you’ve gone and ruined another one so thanks a bunch
  18. That’s what happens when you decide that the fire ninja’s sister is the water ninja 5 years after you already made the lightning ninja blue.
  19. I thought there was a third one that had a set number but nobody knew what it was meant to be? Oh well, these things happen. Doesn’t matter if we get 2 instead of 3, I imagine they will both be of the same quality as last year’s.
  20. The Batman bust has been floating around for a few days now, the helmets shouldn’t be far behind. Keen to see what that third helmet is, and if we really are getting that probe droid statue because it hasn’t been on any recent lists.
  21. I’ve liked most of the brick built heads because I prefer brick built solutions to a one-off mould but I understand where you’re coming from, some of them have been rather ugly. And yes, the 2019 gold dragon is much smaller than the original, one of the few other dragons I actually have hahaha. Couldn’t pass up such an awesome cheap set with the overlord in it. Yeah, the legs on the skull sorcerer dragon kinda turn me off, as does the lack of articulation in the wings, but the final thing is just so intimidating. Been holding off on that one because of space as well, I just recently took apart the 2014 mech dragon to make room for some UCS sets. Between the jungle dragon, the skull dragon and now the fire and water dragons I can see my focus shifting towards Ninjago for this year. Must stop myself from going too hard because Star Wars is looking good in 2HY too. On the new Ultra Sonic Raider, I actually really like the look of that one. The 2012 Raider is the only LEGO set I’ve ever had that I can say I truly hated, didn’t vibe with the finished build at all and ended up returning it the next day. Eager to see reviews for that one, it looks like they’ve gotten rid of a lot of the fat by downsizing it so much. Let’s see if it still has the transforming functions
  22. As much as I love the moulded Taun-Taun I much prefer this brick built model, couldn’t say the same about the dewback from 2019. Never been the biggest fan of the microfighters but the sets do their job, providing us with a nice cheap way to get some desirable figures. Love that they’ve been using these two packs to bring some of the creatures of Star Wars to life, the Bantha/Skyhopper pack was one of the best sets of last year imo. If these creatures continue, like everyone else I want to see a Blurgg and Boga.
  23. Popped out from under my Star Wars collecting rock to tell you all that I think the Overlord Dragon is a wonderful set. Picked it up the other day to go with the golden dragon back from 2013. This is one I’ve wanted since I watched the show all those years ago, I think the set does do it justice but it wouldn’t have hurt anyone if it was a bit bigger. The highlight for me is definitely all the purple and dark blue pieces, but I love the poseability that it has compared to older dragons. Glad to see a cheaper dragon in the Ninjago range again, I have a couple of the older dragons but the really good sets were usually too big to fit in my budget. Looking forward to the teal one in a few months time. Skull Sorcerer’s dragon is looking nice too...
  24. We’ll see if it gets that far, give it a few months and this could all blow over like with James Gunn. I haven’t done a deep dive yet but I know Lucasfilm has been looking for a reason to fire Carano for a while despite Cara Dune being a fan favourite. No further comment on this situation cause it looks messy and has no place on toy forum. My gut tells me we’re still getting Cara in the cruiser but I won’t be surprised if the set comes out and we’ve got an extra dark trooper instead. Or worse, and imo even more likely given then timeframe, one less figure and no substitute
  25. Are we about to watch the Cara Dune minifigure shoot up in price? Some people seem to think she won’t show up in 2HY now even though the current figure list suggests she’s in the Light Cruiser.
