  1. Mine is so literal I'm not even sure there's anything left to say I go by 'scarbrick' on a few other forums......this is a combo of a play on 'Scarface' (say hello to my little minifig); Scarhead (Harry Potter (a taunt from Malfoy)) + I have a scar behind one of my ears !!! LLL
  2. Well done Lightning Tiger  Really enjoying watching New Mannum grow.....looking great. LLL
  3. Well, I hope that's not the case. That would be annoying, as I asked for the forms...then waited two weeks. When I'd heard nothing, I sent the idea as I'd put a bit of thought into it and didn't want to sit on it until the expiry passed Anyone else in the same boat? LLL
  4. I suspect all attempts to capture would result in the 'would be' capturer ending up somewhere different.....and feeling disorientated
  5. As the convicts were transported from England (Northern hemisphere) to Australia (Southern Hemisphere), they weren't used to being the other way up. They printed arrows on their uniforms so they knew which way to stand up...and help control the temptation for them to do handstands all day LLL
  6. I probably should have said "P.S. everything Faefrost said in the last part of his/her 28 Nov 2012 post " I confess I didn't go back to earlier posts...oops LLL
  7. Loving this one !! It was a close call....but I guess, I was after something that would also pass for a real life pub if you didn't think about it too hard. Who doesn't like a good LEGO pun though? .....per above....bring it on  Two more favourites !! Thanks for the great suggestions.....looking forward to seeing if there's more...... LLL
  8. Cuusoo guidelines (http://lego.cuusoo.com/guidelines#L2) Acceptable Project Content (iii) says: "Projects should be product concepts. Your project should be positioned as a new product concept. LEGO CUUSOO is not a gallery to display your creations" Not sure where the idea that it's about one-off models came from Cheers, LLL P.S. everything Faefrost said
  9. One of those is a little familiar.... :) ......
  10. Thanks for the suggestions.....as a Pink Floyd fan myself, that one might make The Final Cut
  11. Hi there, I put a pub / hotel / bar in my town and am looking for a LEGO style name to put on it's sign. This is my list......would like to know which people think is the best.....or even better, some new suggestions Short list: The stud and barrel Brickbeard's head The bull and brick The brickwright's arms Marquis of Billund Brick & Whistle Rejects: The stud and flag The minifig's arms The knight's helmet The royal brick The brick shepherd The bishop's plate Brick lion The stud and dragon Brick and crown The barrel and stud Three bricks. Bricklayer's rest The brick and tile Railway tavern Bricklayer's arms Cheers, LLL
  12. Welcome...some fantastic detail on your models there !! LLL
  13. The 6th one [2752] reminds me of jar jar binks ....I'm not sure I could handle that on my rails
  14. It's one of the 2x6x2 brick you can see below.....an extra weighty brick to help gravity give the driving wheels good purchase on the rails .... Thanks Hobbes for posting this link in an earlier post LLL
  15. .... sums it up for me too. Definitely useful!! So, thanks .
  16. Nice video too....kept it upbeat all the way through LLL
  17. Hi Paddy, Agree it's pretty good value.. I don't think it's the doors that are particularly rare in 7760 though (unless they have the 7760 stickers attached). The two 1x3x2 Blue Windows from 7760 and a 12V Motor will cost over $100US (over $150 if you add a 7760 sticker sheet and instructions). Still definitely a handy bag to pick up if you need a few doors. Cheers, LLL Did it really take me 15 mins to write that ??? looks like roamingstudio beat me to it. Forgot about the weights....another $30-$40...yowch!
  18. Hmmm....I didn't receive any forms.....but I'd already submitted my idea. It'll be interesting to see what happens next with all the submissions. Hopefully a perfect melding of the best facets of them. Cheers, LLL
  19. This is so great ! I'm beyond impressed. It's simply tremendous
  20. 'Flamers' aren't welcome in this forum !!! Someone should give him a 'spray' On a serious note, great job once again monsinjor !! LLL
  21. Hi Everyone, Many PF users would be familiar with this battery box: Pro's : Takes AA batteries (6xAA should last longer than 6xAAA) Cheap (about 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of the AAA 8x4x4 version) I seem to have lots of spares Cons: Awkward shape Too large to fit in the 'compartment' section of most trains Not many studs Anyway, as I had some of these battery boxes sitting around, and I wanted to convert my: 7740 12V to PF; and 4511 9V to PF using the 9V motor with PF attachment, I have made the following attempts and shown the approach below with some pictures. Please take note.... I'm not suggesting this is better or even equivalent to using the AAA or rechargeable battery box...... ....just something I have done to make use of my AA battery boxes . Hopefully it might be useful to someone !! 4511: World City High Speed Train New Carriage: Tha AA battery box revealed: Held in place by four pins in each end (and gravity): And the flawless (get it? ) reason this battery fits : 7740: Inter-City Passenger Train I'm not as pleased with the look of this one - which is a bit over utilitarian....but hey...on a practical level it does the job !! Roof is modified in the front for the IR receiver and in the rear for the protrusion of the battery: The switch is integrated into the pantograph, which slides into the three different positions (camera also shows my 1x6 black plate in need of a good clean ): Removal is easy enough: From the rear: All the best. Please feel free to fire any questions at me. I have the lights working in the 4511 and my next project is to do the equivalent in the 7740. Cheers LLL
  22. Another triumph!! Well done. Great detail with all the gauges - as well as the rear......but the whole thing looks awesome.
  23. Great review mostly technic....very detailed - you really brought it to life LLL
