This is an incredible collection, and I love how you themed them all consistently but gave such character to each one.

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: Tōrō Nagashi
Umbra-Manis replied to Louis of Nutwood's topic in Guilds of Historica
Absolutely nailed it with the landscaping here, beautiful texture throughout that supports the tower -
A great collection! Arken is probably my personal favorite

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: S'äkbri Temple
Umbra-Manis replied to W Navarre's topic in Guilds of Historica
The scale here is damn impressive, and you nailed a Kali setting! -
A distinct pleasure to look at and explore all of the details! The scale is quite grand, but it does not detract from the distinctly detailed sections, which all flow together quite nicely, and the wall provides a continuous presence behind it all.

Very Alien! I love how you did the mouth and the seamless transition between the more bionicle and system elements

Which Lego YouTube channels are best these days?
Umbra-Manis replied to Lego Mike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I second this, this is pretty much the only lego channel I've watched recently -
As the last rays of the cycle glint across the peaks of Nocturnus' northern border, two cloaked figures make the final leg of their return journey to the city of Vacunani, following a long mission to the frozen north. For the Ferdurin it has been a great opportunity to expand the Great Library's catalog of the north after a great many years since the last update. The remains of the Algus invasion are of particular interest, having never seen anything of it's kind. Mecabricks 3D View It has been a long time folks University has taken a great deal of my building time, but I've always got ideas for the darklands kicking around in my head!

Advice for Travelling to Billund
Umbra-Manis replied to Umbra-Manis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
@Toastie @1974 Thank you! I am planning to do TLG related research on more of the engineering side, and I only have about a weeklong window to be out of of the country, so I can't turn it into a grand tour of Europe unfortunately. -
Recently I was inspired by some architectural renderings of public spaces that had very prominent wood features on the walls, and in keeping with the style of such renderings I decided to omit any minifigures from the scene despite the scale being fairly close for them. The edge of the scene is cropped out due to the technique I used for the floor, but everything can be seen in the 3D view on Mecabricks. C&C Welcome!

Hi folks, been a while since I was active around here but life happens. I'm currently looking into the possibility of doing a research project which would hopefully involve taking a trip to Billund during the second quarter next year (hopefully covid safe), and since I've never been myself I figured I would ask those who have more experience. I'm happy to read any and all suggestions, but I'm particularly curious about flight advice (where to go through, etc) as I'm from the US, and transport when in Billund. Thanks in advance!

Eslandola Colonial Council, 621, IN SESSION
Umbra-Manis replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Councilor Hadelson was looking over papers delivered to him minutes ago by a messenger, when he stood up suddenly for a man of his age, his spectacles falling to their chain as he did. "This is a blatant attack on the freedom of a pillar of the free trading network in these seas!" -
Love the integration of the Glatorian Axes and Gelu's helm!

One Ping Only - Status of Lego SciFi RP
Umbra-Manis replied to Norseman's topic in Andromeda's Gates
It'll be 4 years next month since the final moves were made (I just checked the timeline)... I feel old now knowing how long that has been, but I'm also hopeful for a return to the universe some day. I've got another year and half or so until I complete my degree and have time to theoretically get involved with a game like I did with AG1, but the wheels are still turning in my head for builds set within the Andromeda Galaxy. One of these days I'll work on the rainy Blade Runner esque prison moon idea I've had forever. -

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Umbra-Manis replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I gave my space votes to Blacktron and M-Tron. I really wanted to vote for Ice Planet as well, but M-Tron won out because of the existence of a leaked modern ice planet fig- 991 replies

Custom LDD bricks and fixes
Umbra-Manis replied to Equilibrium's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
So I'm looking to update LDD with custom parts for the first time, and when I try to use the LIFextractor, I can't find a resulting folder or tell if the program does anything. It pops up a Processing"filename" in command window when I drag the lif onto it, but then it disappears a few seconds later -

FABUpunk! Mafia II Sign-ups
Umbra-Manis replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1. Considering Fabuland is about twice my age, I'll pick my former self and be an elephant! 2. Ah yes in the form of Chima 2: Domestic Boogaloo 3. Trying to survive as scum in my first game. Stressful. -
End of an Era on LEGO CMFs reviewing for WhiteFang
Umbra-Manis replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, I'm very sad to see the end of the Whitefang reviews. I've always preferred the written review over the video review and Whitefang's were just the best, especially with the funny pictures. Been a big part of EB since I joined in 2014. -
Last month I did a spot of Blacktron building for the Color it Blacktron VI contest, and I didn't think they all deserved their own topics so they're collected here. Bow Tie Fighter This is a rework of one of my previous MOCs (That was the category), a single pilot fighter with light armaments. Blacktron Motorbike (Blacktronization of 2259 Skull Motorbike) This is a conversion of a Ninjago set into a Blacktron version, so now you can smash the space police with a giant blacktron logo! Blacktron Mandalorian This custom I came up with ended up winning me the minifigure category, so I'll be adding some vintage Blacktron Figures that are older than me to my collection soon!
