[COR-TROOP] Your Country needs you!
Ayrlego replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great posing for the minifigs, looks like a very cosy little tavern! I understand what you mean, but currently there are no issues with this, the precedent has been set many times previously. -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Ayrlego replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Usually I make a table in Word (or Excel then paste into word), then copy and paste into the browser. Probably not the most elegant or efficient way - but it works :) -
The Conquering Hero Returns in Triumph
Ayrlego replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Before reading the blurb I noticed some of the interesting torso uses in this MOC, then I actually read your post and it all made sense! Some great houses there and in the colourful Salida Este style. I especi ally like the bright yellow/tan colour scheme (one I will likely steal borrow sometime soon(ish)! Fantastic work! -

[OL - Claim] Scratching in the Rocky Soil of Ile d'Or
Ayrlego replied to CapOnBOBS's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Although conditions do indeed look most encouraging for gold, unfortunately at this site Vincent's skills have only uncovered a very large and rich vein of iron. Not gold to be sure, but something that will still prove valuable for the Olean war effort. -
Is that lavender or medium lavender you have used for the highlights in the rocks? Either way it looks quite unique and will be interesting to see incorporated into upcoming scenes of the island. (checks lavender stash... crap! no plates... Hello Bricklink!!) It appears we have more rocks! The intrepid settlers have found ideal conditions for a rock quarry.

[COR Dec FB] Farm House, Port Woodhouse
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you all for the comments! An air vent was what I was going for, sounds fine in English although there may be some technical term I am unaware of! No, although that would be a handy skill to have! Good question! I had to look it up, Bricklink has it listed as: 30229 Minifig, Utensil zip line handle -
[COR Microprize] University of Lotii Studies
Ayrlego replied to Puvel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice work on the Lotii mini, it came out great! Very nice to see another distinctly Lotii scene in Port Raleigh. -
Nice work, I am a big fan of the style you guys have chosen for Nouveau Oleandia and this is a great example.

Ayrlego replied to NOD's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great micro island NOD, good idea to link the individual buildings together to make a large scene. Well done! -
[GoC] Myzectlan Agricultural Market and Snake Temple
Ayrlego replied to Wellesley's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A very nice addition to Myzectlan Wellesley! I like how you have presented it as an all Lego immersive scene which I think helps give the market more of a bustling, busy feel. A very impressive collection of Myzec looking minifigs as well! I think the best bit for me though is the red snake motif on the front of the temple. It just looks very Aztec to me and I will probably borrow the idea soon! (As soon as I can get my hands on some of the new Jaguar warrior minifigs, Myzectlan is back on the building roster!!!). The lore to go with the snake was great as well, especially the snake's connection with the earth. All in all a great effort and a GoC from me. Oh PS, Licensing wise as long as you meet the minimum footprint for each license, you can license as two separate licenses. The precedent has been set in the past for breaking up larger builds into smaller licenses as long as it fits the scene (which this does with a market clearly being commerce and the temple clearly Arts and Culture.) -
When Port Woodhouse was established it was accepted that the location was strategic in nature and unlike nearby Jameston, there was little potential for the large scale farming of cash crops such as sugar that primarily drive Corlander colonisation of the New World. Despite this, many small land holders have established small farms to service the growing local population and visiting Royal Navy ships. Here one such farmer negotiates with a Royal Navy Petty Officer for the delivery of fresh vegetables to a visiting vessel. Meanwhile a trio of pigs fattens up in the small pen under the shade of a fig tree. Figs have been found to grow quite well in the less humid conditions on Garma's Key and the wardroom of many a visiting Naval vessel has benefited from a special delivery of fresh or preserved figs. A quick build to finish out the year. I had hoped to achieve a bit more building this break, but unfortunately real life had other plans! Anyway Puvel and evancelt's recent Port Woodhouse builds put me in the mind for a quick Port Woohouse scene so here it is! The structure was done in one building session on Boxing day and I finished the landscaping off over the last couple of days. Will be licensed as a plantation in PW for the settlement. Anyway, I hope everyone is having an enjoyable and safe holiday season. All the best for the New Year, cheers for making the BoBS community so great!

Great job capturing the 'Cinque Terre' style we envisioned for Spudkirk in mirco. I think it gives the first overall impression of how Spudkirk is laid out. I do believe I recognise some of the buildings featured - probably the most distinctive is the Octan warehouse and wharf!

[GOC-FB-COR] Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse
Ayrlego replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Fantastic work! This is a great representation of the Port Woodhouse style and I absolutely love it!!!! Points that stand out for me are of course the fountain. The use of the curved tiles to make the cobblestone pattern is beautiful; and I think very fitting for a courtyard in this style of building. I also like the inclusion of the black wrought iron gates - I will have to borrow that look for future PW builds myself! The semaphore flags are nicely done, especially the combination of the white an green to make the diagonally split one. All up great work and I can't really find anything to suggest for improvement! for GoC from me. Oh and also- 29 replies
