  1. The deadline for Categories A, B and C has now passed. The index of entries in the first post of this thread is now up-to-date. Please let me know if I have left your entry out or there are any mistakes. Great participation from everyone.... now to get around to commenting on all the entries! I'll aim to having the scoring matrix set up in court shortly and we will attempt to have results back in a more timely manner than the current MRCA! (no promises but!).
  2. actually it's technically 20x20 with an additional 1 stud black border... and significant overhang - but yeah, the aim of these builds for me was to challenge myself to a high amount of detail with a relatively small footprint.
  3. no, it doesn't appear so
  4. I have a week off coming up soon, hopefully I can finish the March/April account and start the May/June one, I'll share with you then. (how is it June already!!! ) ^This
  5. lol, it was supposed to be Bivalve

  7. The most sacred and holy order of Athena is a monastic order dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom and knowledge. Monks of the order spend their lives in peaceful contemplation and study. New chapters are usually funded by a wealthy patron, and the order appoints a prior to administer the monastery. Sir Dirk Allcock has been looking for a discrete way to signal to his Oleon acquaintances that he bares them no ill will after the recent conflict. A rational and scientific man he passionately believes in the separation of church and state; so when he heard of the drive by the clerics of Nola Mar to create a centre of culture and piety, he was hesitant at first to support it. The Athenian order he feels is a good compromise. The monks are academics; rumour has it members frequently get in trouble if the Order feels they challenge dogma too far, and are perhaps the closet organisation in Oleon to the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy of which Sir Dirk is a member. So, after some contemplation, Sir Dirk has quietly funded the building of a modest monastery for a small chapter of Athenian monks led by Prior Timothée - who he has had some correspondence with in the past regarding a rare species of bi-valve mussel found in Port Raleigh. My entry for Category B, supporting the clerics. @KotZ I'm happy to donate this to the Olean/Nola Mar account for licensing as an art and culture or education as you see fit. Let me know if you want me to do the paperwork.
  8. Here is the March-April Summary - everything should be update except the MRCA results and troops. (I was hoping to get the troops done before releasing but it just hasn't happened.)

  10. Whilst the panning didn't immediately reveal any promising results for our prospectors, one of them did notice an odd ore in a rocky outcrop near the river. On further investigation, it turned out to be an extensive seam of iron. PS nice sluce! I may borrow that one in the future - it looks very realistic!
  11. Wow! This is really coming together now. I have yet to have commented what a great idea this concept is. Well done to all involved and I am definitely going to have to convert my digital building to Stud.io!
  12. The additions of the minifigs really brought this scene to life compared to the WIP shots! The white and bley mixture on the tower also look very nice together. Any chance of an overall shot of the whole scene? I'll submit the paperwork to license for the glory of the ETTC!
  13. The circular base turned out great and as I commented on the WIP shots, the colours you used for the landscape look really good. I finally got Bricks and Pieces working so depending on how long the order takes to turn up I might be able to also use the new nougat 1x2s to mimic your landscape! I like the simplicity of the Atwi house, it's very fitting for a hybrid native/Madrician house. The whole scene very effectively portrays how I envision the Atwi interior - expect my part of the collab to mimic the aesthetic you have used here!
  14. The use of the coral plates to make the centre tower is inspired and it looks simply amazing! All over a great colour palette - an amazing entry - well done!

  16. As tensions slowly have calmed down after the abortive attack on Tarlor and signing of the treaty of Pamu, Colonel Dirk Allcock has found himself busy in Westface liaising with L'Olius on the creation of the Commonwealth of Terraversa. Popular opinion in Westface is somewhat united in a desire to break free of the shadow of King's Port and surmount that city as the premier trading port on Terraversa. Opinions on how to do this are far less united with many advocating for an increase in production of the staples produced in Eastern Terraversa, while others call for a massive increase in commercial facilities. Allcock believes both sides have merits and that ultimately Westface will need to develop both if it is to compete with King's Port. For now however, he believes that production must come before commerce. Here he sees an opportunity to both help Corrington's new Ally and expand the East Terran Trade Company's activities on Terraversa. Using his discretionary funds, he has purchased a water mill located astride a dam on the outskirts of Westface. After some refurbishment, the mill is operational, processing mostly sugar cane on the ground and first level, while the upper floors are being used to temporarily direct the companies activities in Westface while a suitable office location is found. A manager has been found to run the mills operations and she watches the road for a delivery of raw cane from the nearby great plantations. Sir Dirk and fellow ETTC shareholder (and current chairman!) Sir Isaac Montoya discuss business opportunities for the ETTC on Terraversa on one of the upper balconies. and an ubiquitous ETTC Sepoy patrols the dam wall. My entry for Cat C supporting the agrarians in Westface. I wanted to continue what I'm dubbing my 'vertical' builds (small footprint but five stories high with overhang). Will be handed over to the ETTC for licensing as a factory.
  17. That's a really great looking sawmill - a subject I have been thinking about for sometime! I like the rundown look of the roof and slightly overgrown appearance. Maybe a few minifigs would make it look a bit more lively - at first I thought it was abandoned! Very nice work and great first build for BoBS!
  18. I like the effect.... I have bulk 1x2s in brown, I wonder what it would look like as ‘wood’. I may have to try...!
  19. Great transition from ruins to finished building - and such an grand building befitting of an embassy as well! The statue of Poseidon/Neptune is particularly well done and I also like the addition of the public fountain as well. A very nice entry!
  20. Very interesting masonry technique and I will have to examine it closer to figure out exactly how it works (looks like SNOT 1x2 'log' bricks at first glace? The idea of a mushroom grow house is intriguing and I am pretty sure is a first for BoBS. It's great to see Wullham continue to develop and I like the similarities/ties to Elizabethville.
  21. Thanks NOD! It is indeed SNOT! They are 1x1 dark bley headlight bricks with 1x1 medium bley tiles in the 'headlight' connection. Confession time: that handcart is built from one of the cart tutorials on Brickbuilt - I've used it in many builds since I first constructed it and it sits on one of my shelves waiting for the next time I need a cart in a MOC! Thanks Khorne! Now that you mention it... that's kind of what I was going for without realising it! Thanks Fraunces, unfortunately they most get pulled apart for parts before I start the next build - although this one is still sitting on my bench as I haven't worked up the courage to break it up yet! Thanks Prof, Like the hand cart, I recycle that lantern design regularly! Thanks Evan I considered this but didn't have the courage to follow through lest it look like I'd forgotten - I'll have to try it in the future as it makes complete sense.... Thanks Garm, looking forward to seeing your builds. Would you like me to take care of the licensing paperwork for the ETWC? Thanks BD, I have another almost good to go and am planning several more in the same vertical style as I really enjoyed this build!
  22. That's a neat little bonfire Kai, although of course I can't approve of the material they are burning!
  23. Very Nice! This is exactly the kind of thing I imagined when I wrote the island description for Crocodile Island! The mixture of greens and trans blocks have succeeded in making it feel really swampy and the board walks came out really nice. Great work!
