My apologies all, I just noticed a mistake in the text. The above for Cat 1B should read maximum of eight figures the same as Cat 1A. I have edited the OP -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Ayrlego replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Some Mokolei troops - I seem to be into old world NPC building at the moment! Infantry: Imperial Janissary (heavy infantry), Nizami musketeers (x2) (line infantry), Kvarnerić Pandour (light infantry), Mokolei Shamshiri (melee infantry). Cavalry: Imperial Guard Cavalry, Nizami Lancer, Camel Tribesman. I'm posting from a hotel room in (not so) sunny London, I'm visiting the UK for work for the next few weeks so no more MOCs for a little while, although hopefully Colonel Allcock will get out for some sight seeing pictures and I should have some time to catch up on some admin stuff around here! -
Flower of the Lotus - Mini Challenge - RESULTS POSTED
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
No, unfortunately not! Although if you retook the photo with some additions/slight modifications (no huge changes required) then that would be ok! Yes, they can definitely be part of another MOC. As Capt Wolf stated, they are the southernmost nations on Halos. Not sure I can find a reference to the East in the OP? They occupy the eastern half of El Oleonda, but originate from Southern Halos. -

Looking good! Do you mean the name of the the topic you post your entry in? If so then the usual convention is: [SR - Flower of the Lotus Cat1A] Lotii Rocket Troops (or whatever you want to call your topic!) -
[GoC] Marshalling in Spudkirk
Ayrlego replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice angling on the wharf - I'm trying to work out if it is just the pier that is on an angle, or if the actual shoreline is not straight. Either way it gives a nice flow to the scene. The structure is excellent for such a small façade with the yellow adding a nice splash of colour. Nice to see a new regiment of Foot Guards - those custom torsos look great! for GoC. -

Officially, the Lotii have a fairly established presence on El Oleonda. They view Madrician colonists such as Carno, Oleon and Corrington as invaders and have vowed to drive them of the island so that they have sole possession. Probably not much of a story required for this challenge - the idea was to get some builds from a different perspective/flavour. Something nice and easy that most can participate in (the fig-barf) and build some oriental style ships for the more nautically minded. -
[SR-FB] Hilto, Pasha's house of the red petals
Ayrlego replied to omnihash_cz's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Seconded! Hilto is such a vibrant and colourful settlement and this is a lovely new edition. I love that you are making everything modular and posting updates on the whole seafront. The outhouse is a particularly fun detail. Fantastic work, keep it up!!! -
[OL - FB] A Mostly Warm Reception
Ayrlego replied to Jeff of Clubs's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice work - exactly the types of scenes I'd hoped for when we agreed to cooperate on Oleonda! I especially like the way you have done the angles with the roof to make it work with the curved wall - thats very neat work. Great build!- 12 replies

[COR - FB] Fortifications at Neustadt
Ayrlego replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice work! As others have mentioned, that is a very impressive palisade and nice collection of Carnites. Hopefully they will keep those pesky Lotii out! -
Deep in the deserts of New Oleon, a detachment of the Oleonese Légion Etrangère can be found manning a small outpost in a village. The detachment keeps an eye on the important trading route running through the village and the presence of these tough soldiers discourages bandits from making trouble. Troops based of the La Légion Etrangère entry in the The Gran Military Encyclopedia of Oleon. I've wanted to build a scene with these guys for a while now, but until recently I only had one of the revolutionary soldier torsos. The tower started as the first test build when I started my recent Mexican themed western build - I was debating whether it should be in white or tan - so I made a small upper section of tower in both colours. I decided I liked the white better - so the tan sat around on the desk for the last few weeks until I modified it, then turned it into this! As I mentioned in the faction thread, Oleon is free to license as an EGS property if they wish.

The Lotus empire still lurks in the east as a sleeping giant. Although the Carnite-Lotii war saw them battered and pushed back and for a moment entirely on the defensive, little is known of their overall position and strength in the New Haven Sea. In recent months, the Lotus banners have started to reappear, rumours of a new Lotii commander have emerged together with reports of vast new Lotii and allied Monomonto land forces massing on Eastern El Oleonda. Now, it appears Carnite forces are under siege in their settlement of Seawatch, while Oleon and Corrington marshal forces for a combined land campaign on El Oleonda. But what... and who will they face??? Aim: To highlight the NPC factions of the Lotus Empire and Monomonto Shogunate Category One - Fig Barf! Task A: Show an example of Lotii soldiers and equipment. Your entry must: Consist of a minimum of four and maximum of eight figures. Your figures must be purist. eg. Constructed using official Lego torsos, legs, heads and headgear/hair (or digital renders of parts and colours available in real life). Third party weapons are permissible. All other parts must be official Lego parts. Your figures must be presented on a plain background with no base. OPTIONAL: Although your figures can not be presented on a base, you may choose to place a stand alone tree/vegetation or other feature in the background. Focus should remain on the figures, your background feature should compliment your entry but not dominate it. Examples: 1 2 3 A link to your entry topic should be posted in this thread. Example of Lotii Troops by @Khorne Task B: Show an example of Monomonto soldiers and equipment. Your entry must: Consist of a minimum of three and maximum of eight figures. Your figures must be purist. eg. Constructed using official Lego torsos, legs, heads and headgear/hair (or digital renders of parts and colours available in real life). Third party weapons are permissible. All other parts must be official Lego parts. Your figures must be presented on a plain background with no base. Focus should remain on the figures, your background feature should compliment your entry but not dominate it. Examples: 1 2 3 A link to your entry topic should be posted in this thread. Example of Monomonto Troops by @Ayrlego Category Two - War Junk! Task: Build a Lotii (or Monomonto) naval vessel in service of the Lotii in the New Haven Sea. Your entry must: By licensable under the EGS rules for ships, but not be licensed to any player (intention is to license them to the Lotii for use as MOC'd vessels - Thus available for capture by players). No class limit for this category. Be distinctively Lotii (or Monomonto) in character. (Please no 'captured' Madrician (European style) vessels). A link to your entry topic should be posted in this thread. Due Dates Category One: 28 March 22 Category Two: 25 April 22 Rewards: Category One: Know thy enemy: The faction with the highest average combined score across both sub-categories will receive one extra experience point to be applied to a single selected commander when fighting against the Lotii or their allies on El Oleonda. Category Two: The top three scoring entries in this category will be rewarded with a license for an un-MOC'ed ship equal in class to the ship they built for the Lotii. This un-MOC'd ship may be used for the tMRCA but can not be sister-shipped if lost. Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Ayrlego replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oleonese friends, I thought I'd post a sneak preview of a MOC I'm close to finishing here. It's a scene from New Oleon. I don't have any particular story in mind - I've wanted to build something featuring your Légion Etrangère for a long time now and when I was experimenting with Mexican style buildings I ended up with the basics of something much more North African on one of my first attempts. Anyway I ended up completely reworking and this is the result. Any faction related tips or concerns, let me know - I was just going to say it is a Foreign Legion outpost somewhere in the deserts of New Oleon. I'll probably end up donating it to you guys for the EGS if you want. PS, not sure if I'll go fleshie or yellow for the figs but rest assured - I will not mix!!! -
[COR FB] Campaign Planning, Port Woodhouse
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks Kai, the three leaf pieces are attached to a chain of dark brown 4x3 leaf pieces (with some mechanical arm pieces for variation). Then the one end of the chain is attached to the SNOT side base and the other to the normal base plate with the natural flex of the leaf pieces creating the curve. Technique adapted from here. -
Always niece to see more of the bayou in Nouveau Oleandia (and the crocs of course!). Great use of the seaweed parts to create that overgrown swampy feel.

Seconded! I love the depiction of the underground vaults. I hope those two guards don't prove to be as dodgy as they sound! -
[COR-FB] a long forgotten ambush

Nice display of troops - it's good to see them in an old world setting now and then! Naturally the Redcoats are giving those dastardly bluecoats a good thumping! -

I believe the WTC have moved troops to the area; however, at this stage the Crown have not received word from the trade company on how they plan to employ them.
