Having a neat little office ready to go for scenes like this would defiantly come in handy - I could answer this letter immediately for one thing!!! I will attempt to answer on the weekend, but for now OOC I see no issues with the WTCs plans in the East Prio Sea. Black Beach has an ETTC presence already, so as long as neither TC is looking for exclusivity I don't see a problem - lucky there don't seem to be any horses on Gunpowder Island (yet)! Governor Allcock is mainly interested in the strategic location of Gunpowder Island - he didn't want to see a foreign (or even worse pirate!!) power establish itself on such an important shipping lane (shipping to the economic powerhouse of Jameston, - and a lesser extent Mesabi Landing all pass here). He's happy to leave the commercial development/exploitation of natural resources to the TCs. Although the Crown will ofc need a piece of the pie!

The Aksumite Empire was a kingdom centred in Northeast Africa and South Arabia from Classical antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. Based primarily in what is now northern Ethiopia, and spanning modern-day Eritrea, Djibouti and eastern Sudan, it extended at its height into much of modern day southern Arabia. My (hopefully) first entry into the African category of the Summer Joust 2022. Based on the Age of Empires Ethiopian watchtower.

Nice depiction of the mangroves Darnok. Looks like the strange dirt is not gold, but almost as valuable - congratulations on striking silver.

Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Ayrlego replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Darnok is correct, a new account sheet is due out at the start of July to cover the May-June period and you will appear on that sheet. In the meantime, you get 25DB for signing up (so technically that will be your total atm. Posting freebuilds is another way to earn coin - post your build in it's own thread and fill out the Build Submittal Form . Your first 2 freebuilds for a month earn 10DB each, third and forth freebuilds earn 5DB and all other after that 2DB. -

Welcome to Corrington and to BoBS @DeathCap. I think class 2 would work well for HMS Piper. To license her for the EGS, you need to post her in the forums with your story and some pictures. Then fill out this form: Ship Licence Form . The account managing the ship will be your Eurobricks username and as she is your first vessel you can license her for free, so make sure to check the 'license a free vessel' box. When posting pictures from Flickr, most people find it best to use BBCode. To do this, click the little arrow button at the bottom right of the image in Flickr. Select the 'BBCode' tab and then select a size. On the forums we mostly use the 800-1000 range (usually the top 'medium' or first 'large' option). Select the code that Flickr generates, copy and paste into the forum post like this: HMS Piper 4 gun cutter by DeathCap Lego, on Flickr This allows people to see a decent size picture of your creation and then click on the link to view it in Flickr if they want an even higher resolution look. Hope that was helpful, please let us know any questions - everyone here is always very happy to help out! -
[OL-FB-Troops] Jiangkai tirailleurs
Ayrlego replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great troops and detailed backstory - I like how you incorporated the raid on Jiangkai into their motivation. Interesting looking statue as well, looks really well done (and almost wasted in the background! - it definitely deserves to be the focus of a MOC! ) -
'issues of girth' lol - nice use of partially de-constructed MOCs to add some colour to the world!

[COR-FB] Allied Intelligence Office, Spudkirk
Ayrlego replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As I mentioned on Flickr, this is easily my favourite build of yours in this style so far. Too bad it's not in Port Woodhouse where it belongs!!! Your solution for the angled walls is quite clever - Can you post some of the WIP shots from Insta here as a reference? I will totally be trying this in the future! The palm tree is also brilliant and I don't think I've seen those pieces used as leaves before. Very nice! Edit: Licensed for the faction -
As I commented on Flickr, brilliant work here Spud! The stained glass is a clear standout but the whole scene is so very nicely done. The Corrie flag is especially clever - thanks for the preview shot of how you did it. for GoC

So many great details in what is such a narrow build! I really like the way it attaches onto Hoang's place - I hope we get to see further additions to market street in the future - I really like the style you have created with both these builds.

During the American Revolutionary War, British forces in North America were supplemented with auxiliaries from many German states, most notably Hesse-Kassel. These troops included Jäger companies. Jäger, a German word that translates to “hunter”, were recruited from huntsmen and foresters who were skilled in the use of rifled weapons normally used to hunt boar. They were skilled shots, self-sufficient in battle, and swift, able to efficiently load and fire a rifle, a skill which took greater dexterity than firing muskets. The Jäger differed in appearance from other Hessian troops, wearing a green jacket with crimson facings instead of the blue jackets of Hessian infantrymen. These Lego Jäger are printed by United Bricks. I have since read that the Jäger were not issued with bayonets, instead they had short swords, so forgive this inaccuracy on my part! The church is based on the Von Trap family chapel in Vermont - again not period appropriate! Basically I just wanted to show of my new Jäger, so here they are!

There are no EGS Corrie troops on El Oleonda (we haven't moved any and our ships largely didn't sail last MRCA - they are amassing at Spudkirk), but for story purposes a small advanced party has arrived at Fort Arltrees.

Yes, although these builds count as a collaborative build between two or more players, so your total licensable builds per month will be four. Also if you build over your limit, you can still present the builds and they can be licensed in future months. -
Great work capturing the aesthetic of the inspiration pictures, especially the colour palette. The medium nougat/dark orange works well for this style (I guess the bricks from the clay pit have entered production!!!). The diagonal 1x1 SNOT studs are a very nice little detail as well. If I could offer one minor suggestion, it would be to maybe try and break up the demarcation line between the dark orange and nougat sections - the façade strikes me as being a little 'flat' if that makes sense. Maybe further indenting a stud? Or making the nougat indents around the windows a little bigger? Anyway, it looks great as is - I've licensed for the faction and added your total to the faction thread.

An update to the mine rules announced in the 'by land' thread. Duplicated below: Mine: (rules updated May 2022) A mine is a piece of land that yields mineral wealth and works a little differently than other property types. Firstly, mines only come in one size - medium. All mines count as x2 towards settlement size and should meet an approximate minimum of a 32x32 stud footprint. A standard mine (Rock Quarry, Clay Pit, Sandstone Quarry etc.) can be built and licensed as normal. Submit your build and license using the property licence form. Select 'Rock Quarry' as the mine type. However; if a builder wants to attempt to uncover precious minerals (see the list below), they must first present a 'prospecting' build. A prospecting build (no size limit) should show your characters prospecting for minerals. Prospecting builds cost 25DB and should be licensed using the property licence form and presented in their own thread (tag @Ayrlego for a speedy response). Prospecting builds will add +1 to settlement size IF the corresponding mine is subsequently constructed and licensed. Leadership will then announce the results of your prospecting build. Results are based on predetermined mineral percentages for each island and a random number selection between 1 - 100. For example: if an island has a 20% chance of striking coal, then 20 numbers will have been predetermined to be coal. You may strike out and hit rock, or you may discover one of the minerals listed below. Prospecting is a gamble. After the results are announced, if the builder then decides to mine the mineral they must create a second MOC to show its extraction. Submit your build and license using the property licence form. Select the appropriate mineral type as the mine type. Mine Type Cost for License Yield per Month Prospect 25DB nil Gold 100DB 50DB Silver 100DB 45DB Mercury 100DB 40DB Iron 75DB 40DB Saltpetre 75DB 40DB Coal 25DB 30DB Salt 25DB 30DB Rock 25DB 10DB

[COR-FB] Building Blocks for Queenston - Part 1: Clay Pit
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Technically to license a mine you need a prospecting build. A dice roll then determines the type of mineral you strike. The default (highest percentage mineral) for most islands is usually rock - which I guess clay would fit under? So technically I couldn't license this as a mine (rock quarry) without a prospecting build and then a roll that revealed rock (and you can bet that when you want the most common mineral, you'll probably roll something rare like gold!!! Murphy's Law!!!). We could add an amendment to the mining rules to say you don't need to prospect if all you want is a rock quarry? To me that makes sense - if you aren't looking for anything exotic and just want rock then you can just build a rock mine/clay pit/sandstone quarry etc. But if you want to roll the dice for something more valuable, then you gamble with a prospecting build. You may still end up with rock (ie nothing), but you may strike gold (or silver, iron, saltpetre, etc). Also if you did this I think you'd need to adjust the yields of coal, saltpetre and salt to make them more valuable than rock - to make the gamble worthwhile. I could quickly overhaul the mining rules, maybe even simplify then slightly- they are quite complex and it is a fun but relatively under utilised feature of the game. I guess it depends on whether there is any appetite to do so? In the meantime, I think I'll just go with plantation! If I recall Brickwolf once licensed a 'salt farm' as a small plantation - so there definitely is precedence! Oh I just need an excuse and Scarver being fleshie is perfect!!! -
It is now almost six months since Colonel Dirk Allcock was dispatched to Arlintina to establish a new settlement for the crown. After initial scouting and the selection of a location, Colonel Allcock lead a short expedition into the interior while the first tranche of settlers began to establish the basics for the new colony. In his absence, a promising privateer captain by the name of Edward Scarver had established a logging camp, whilst other settlers had located a suitable source of clay for use in the production of bricks. Newly returned from the interior, Colonel Allcock inspects the now operational clay pit. Here the raw material is collected and then transported to the next stage of production. Heavily based on Letranger Absurde's Clay Pit. Also trying out 'fleshie' Allcock for when he meets Scarver (who is fleshie!) soon. Not quite sure how to license this one. Next up will be moulding the bricks and then a kiln for firing - not sure if I'll separate them or combine them but either way they'll be factories. @Capt Wolf's Brickmaker in Interlagos was the initial inspiration for this (hopefully) series of small builds. Part one here could be a factory I guess...? or maybe a plantation in the same way a plantation such as sugar cane provides the raw materials for processing??? Or maybe an artisan (might be a bit of a stretch??) Any thoughts/arguments for any of the options? Otherwise I'll probably just pick either factory or plantation...

Unlike other colonial powers in the New World, Corlander colonial authorities have always perused a policy of free trade and no taxes. While this policy has proven successful to date, the ongoing expansion of the Empire has correspondingly raised the costs of upkeep for the naval and military forces required to administer it. To ensure Corrington remains a bastion of free trade, colonial authorities are calling on civic minded Corlander citizens to assist in making the colonies self sufficient. Corlander colonial citizens of good standing are called upon to support civic projects across all Corlander settlements in the New world. Increasing the administrations income through centralised property ownership will significantly increase colonial revenues without the need for taxes. As an incentive, Citizens who build properties and license them on behalf of the Crown (or a settlement that pays it's own fort upkeep) before 31 December 622 will be eligible for the following honours: Level 1 - For the donation of properties totalling 100-199DBs in property income: Knighthood in the Order of the Compass Rose (or advancement to the next level if already knighted) Level 2 - For the donation of properties totalling 200-299DBs in property income: Baronetcy including an title and membership of the Noble Parliament. Level 3 - For the donation of properties totalling greater than 300DBs in property income: Earldom including an title and membership of the Noble Parliament. Simply post a build that meets the requirements for licensing in the EGS. Donate the build to the faction by tagging Ayrlego who will then license and adjust your total score in this Post. - Income from any Royal collabs will be divided among the collaborators as determined by the collaborators. - Normal quality rules apply. Builds not deemed to meet the minimum levels of effort required for licensing in the EGS will not apply. - Builds in this incentive may count towards the GoC if they meet GoC requirements. Progress: @Ayrlego Total: 96DB (Clay Pit, Mayor's Office, Grenadier Barracks, Pioneer Outpost, Elizabethville Observatory, Corner Townhouse, Grenadier's Forge, Chinampa, ) @evancelt Total: 100DB (Town Hall,Intelligence Office, Supply Dock, Blueberry Manor, Goat Farm, Armoury, Dairy Farm) @Spud The Viking Total: 33DB (Library, Primary School, Fortified Factory, ) @Darnok Total: 70DB (Salt Mine, Copper Mine, ) -
I was very tempted to drive up when I was in the UK a couple of months ago. I was staying in Lincoln for a couple of days. I made it up to Bamburgh but it was just too long to keep going up and across to Castle Douglas in one day... even for an Australian who is used to driving long distances to actually get anywhere!!!

Yes, I think a lot of Polish AFOL castle fans are very excited! Thank you, no instructions sorry. Thanks, when I first saw them I didn't think it was going to look very good reversed. I'm very happy to be wrong! Thanks, good luck!!! Thanks Professor! It's ok, they aren't fleshies, most have light 'nougat' heads - just ask TLG! Thank you! Thanks. @zoth33 is pretty much spot on. The Crossbowman has a BrickWarriors Kettlehelm (painted silver). The warhammer head was a custom piece from a third party store in Singapore that I'm pretty sure no longer operates. I think they were called CrazyCustoms or something like that. The red falcon shield was from a Polish Bricklink store back in the days Bricklink could sell custom items. The flag spear is Lego - but modified. I cut off the head of a spear and it is joined to a lance by the flags. I felt the lance needed to be slightly longer and have experimented with different ways over the years (usually using telescope and bar pieces). I have quite a few of the new type spears (and I think I prefer the old type ones anyway) so I decided to sacrilegiously cut one short.

Just a quick build to show off the new White Eagle/Red Falcon torsos available from build your own minifig stations. I was very excited to see a new castle faction, especially one that appears to be be a variant of the (best faction) Black Falcons!

The last tMRCA results were added in the Nov-Dec 2021 summary - you had 2335 added to your account then - does that make things add up? We're still working on the last MRCA results (we've had a bit of a hiccup but that has been resolved now and the results *should* be published shortly.
