  1. Additional Temporary Task - Bastion of the East Valid until 1 Jan 23 or Queenston achieves City Status - whichever comes first Background: Corrington has long coveted the large island known as Arlintina at the far east of the known map. Finally, a small colony has been established on the southern coast of Arlintina. With vast open floodlands perfectly suited for sugar cane cultivation, rumoured mercury deposits and a bay large enough for ships of all sizes, Queenston is full of potential! Goal: Grow Queenston into a self sustainable city from which to project the glory of Corrington! Requirements: Build 3 properties that show Queenston as a growing settlement (must be licensable under EGS rules). Of the 3 builds, you may keep 1 as a personal investment, but 2 must be sold to Corrington : 1 to Queenston; and 1 to the Crown. There are no property size limits, Corrington will pay ×2 the licensing fee for the purchase of your builds. All builds must respect Queenston's aesthetic (see settlement page for examples/inspiration). Tag @Ayrlego in builds to be donated to the crown. 1. As a new settlement on promising land, people from all corners of the Empire have moved to Queenston in hopes of a better life on the new frontier. Build a property that shows what the daily life of these pioneers may look like. 2. Queenston's location offers great access to open floodlands perfect for sugar cultivation. Build a sugar cane plantation to exploit this resource. 3. Queenston is the most easterly settlement of the great Empire of Corrington. What lays beyond the eastern horizon, no one knows. To the south, war with the Lotii rages. Build a scene showing some aspect of the military defences of Queenston. Examples of suitable builds could be a barracks, supply depot, training facility, foundry, military docks etc. You build should include the glorious redcoats of Corrington's military as a major feature.
  2. As Justsomebrix said, they are from AE. Here are the Frenchies: And here are the Brits:
  3. Mayor's Office, small commerce licensed for Corrington.
  4. Although he had been tasked with establishing the settlement of Queenston for Corrington, Colonel Allcock found much of his time was spent trying to organise the logistics of the growing New Haven Sea Campaign. The distance from Queenston to Spudkirk was hindering his ability to do this, made necessary by Brigadier Howe's recall to Belson again; meanwhile the campaign work was preventing him fully committing to settlement building. To this end, he had finally received permission from the Colonial office to return to Spudkirk. In addition, he had been granted discretionary power to appoint a formal Mayor for Queenston. The choice in Allcock's mind was easy. Edward Scarver, a young privateer Captain who had been instrumental in establishing Queenston was Allcock's pick. As such, he has invited Scarver to the newly constructed mayoral office to offer him the job. "Captain Scarver, I would be honoured if you would accept the appointment of mayor of the Corlander Colonial settlement of Queenston"@Justsomebrix The office had been put to immediate use and Allcock found the endless paperwork and correspondence much easier than from a campaign tent. One of the issues that he had been dealing with was engagement with the Wayfarer Trade Company on a number of matters. The honourable Kadeus Mordo, Executive Commander of the WTC, @Darnok Dear Sir, Many thanks for your letter and it is good to hear the WTC will stepping up operations in the New World. I have much respect for your company, which has achieved many great things in your time in Nova Terra; although not without some degree of notoriety I note. I look forward to seeing your future efforts to expand the glory of our empire. In answer to your specific questions, 1. Regarding Gunpowder Island; The Crown, with assistance of the ETTC have set up a fledging settlement called Black Beach. Our intent was to establish a small settlement with a dual purpose: One to protect the northern approaches to the Garma Strait and the Northern sea route to both Jameston and Mesabi Landing and; two, to exploit rumours of rare minerals. Unfortunately our endeavours have been curtailed by the Terraversa affair, the war against the Lotii and in no small measure also by the extremely hostile natives, who have resisted all attempts at friendship with force. I would be glad to have WTC investment in the settlement and to leverage your experience in the area in any way possible. You are correct in that a substantial deposit of saltpetre has been discovered; although we have yet to have been able to exploit it. So, as the Corlander Colonial Governor of the Paradise Isles, I hereby grant the WTC permission to establish a presence in the settlement of Black Beach and transfer the rights to develop the existing saltpetre deposits into a mining concern with the yield to be shared between the WTC and Crown at a rate to be worked out on the commencement of operations. Currently the ETTC have responsibility for the defence of the settlement and I expect that any WTC presence would coexist peacefully and in cooperation with ETTC officials and Crown officials alike. 2. Camp Isaac. The RSNP is committed to the sustainable development of the logging industry on Cascadia. So far only very limited logging operations have occurred. This is in line with RSNP policy of minimal impact on nature and in respect to the local Myzec people who have a deep spiritual connection to the rainforest. I mention this because while I welcome further WTC presence in Camp Isaac and will grant the company the necessary forestry licenses; I would ask you to respect our values when carrying out logging operations. Our current policy is to 'thin' the forest. Strip logging of entire areas will not be permitted. I have included a letter of introduction to the RSNP liaison officer with the Myzec representative in Camp Isaac and look forward to hearing of your endeavours there. At this stage, WTC assistance in developing Black Beach and a sustainable logging industry in Camp Isaac would be the most valuable contribution to the development of the East Prio Sea area. For commercial opportunities in the New Haven Sea I would encourage you to contact the Mayors of Wullham, Spudkirk or Queenston for opportunities. Similarly for any opportunities in the western colonies. I am excited by your offers for assistance and look forward to a new era of cooperation and development between ourselves and the WTC. Yours sincerely, Colonel Sir Dirk Allcock, Colonial Governor of the Paradise Isles, Knight of the Order of the Compass Rose, Secretary of the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy. Finally had some time to address some IC issues I should have focused on much earlier. The property will be licensed for Corrington as a small commerce in Queenston.
  5. Like almost everyone else commented (but it's worth mentioning again), the shaping of the tower is really good and the umbrella is a really clever solution for the roof. Great work!
  6. Yes! I've been waiting to see the finished product! Like Bregir mentioned it was great to follow the WIPs for this on discord! Great work all around. I really like the colours, the design of the building and those olive trees are really lovely!!! Really great work!
  7. The Lotii better watch out now, Rear Admiral Fletcher is taking personal command!!! Nice colourful scene with a very classic kind of vibe!
  8. Nice work with the couriers du bois, especially the detective hat which I think works really well here. Hopefully the time off hunting pays well for them, they can report to the governor that they have found copper - which seems to be all the rage in the Brick Seas these days!!! On a side note, Crocodile isn't bad - a bit like tough chicken but I think it really depends on how you cook it. I've had it charred to almost inedible on a BBQ before... that wasn't so great.
  9. You can start in any port you like. Totally up to you, I'd probably recommend a Corrie port to make in character (IC) sense! This post has a list of ports. You ship stats are: HMS Piper: Class 2 R4 M4 G1 C1 $1 H1 HMS Atropos: Class 4 R4 M4 G4 C4 $0 H2
  10. Megablocks! I must have left copper off when I re-did the table last month.... Copper is the same as saltpetre and iron, so 40DBs
  11. Love the last shot of the miners running away - great posing! As the dust settles fragments of a rich copper seam can be found.
  12. No worries, use this form: Transaction Form to transfer funds between EGS accounts. Yes that is correct. According to the KPA your ship made a 10DB profit, so that is why you had 10DBs added to your account. As your ship is a Class 1 your base upkeep is 15DB; however, as you only ran the one ship so your total base upkeep was under 100DB. This makes your adjusted upkeep zero. You can use this upkeep calculator to work out upkeep on your vessels in a tMRCA.
  13. Thanks! Self-printed on ordinary paper and stuck on with a glue stick for easy removal
  14. A lot to like here and some interesting parts use (as normal for an Evancelt build!). The use of the projectile shooters as the waterline on the cliffs might just be the best unconventional part use in a landscape that I have seen in a long while. I also second Ross' comment about the basalt columns - those are beautiful. Licensed for the faction with thanks!
  15. Absolutely on both counts! Firstly, you should fill out this form: Build Submittal Form to earn 10DBs for the freebuild. Then, if you were interested in donating Piper for Naval service, I am pretty sure she would qualify for the Gunboats for the Colonies scheme as a class 2 gun sloop for which the Crown is paying 40DBs for. The gunboats scheme is also a Glory of Corrington (GoC) task if that was something you were interested in pursuing. I notice that you have already licensed her as your free class vessel. So if you did want to offer her for Crown service, let me know and I will transfer the license and 'refund' you your free license! If you'd like to keep her under your control and run her in the tMRCA with your other ship, you can find the the rules here and then sign-up via this form. Let us know if you have an issues and I can help with the paperwork - it's a lot to take in at the beginning of the game, but it is the only way we have to make everything (somewhat) work!
  16. Very nice line of classic (yet fleshie!) redcoats in your instantly recognisable clean style. Nice mix of colours and textures on the landscape and that's a great looking base. for GoC! Fixed. It usually happens because of a missing end tag on the BB code. Can be an absolute pain sometimes! I usually cut the offending text out and paste back in without formatting - that seemed to work this time.
  17. She's a very nice looking vessel DeathCap. Let me know if you need any assistance getting her signed up for the trade MRCA (if that is indeed what you intend her for!).
  18. Cat A | The Hero of Puerto Desafio | King Fernando
  19. Duque Pedro Alejandro Blazquez de Motamoros, Hero of Puerto Desafio. As portrayed here in oil on canvas by a leading Olean master, specially commissioned by the Duque de Motamoros to commemorate the occasion of the liberation of Puerto Desafio by Eslandolan forces in 617AE. The Duque de Motamoros personally led the victorious Eslandolan Guard against the toughest section of the Mardierian defences, achieving a break through and smashing into the port town to claim it for the Eslandolans. Coming from a long line of Eslandolan nobility, the Duque de Motamoros has always been a staunch Royalist, although he was enthusiastic in the early days of the Colonial Council when that body spearheaded Eslandola's involvement in the Eslandolan-Mardierian War in which he gained his reputation. Eager for more conquest and glory, he has been disappointed by the bureaucratic torpidity that the council finds itself in these days and longs for a firmer hand on the reigns. What he absolutely can not stand are the populist antics of Count Lewisham, whom he would gladly see executed for high treason. He might still support the Colonial Council if it had taken firm action against the depravities of Lewisham, but he now sees them as almost duplicitous in Lewisham's ascend. The King on the other hand took action to save Eslandola from a descent to rule by mob. King Fernando's firm hand must rule Eslandola if tragedy is to be averted! LONG LIVE THE KING! Just in case it's not abundantly clear, this is an entry for King Fernando... although Duque de Motamoros is of course a true Eslandolan, so if it were financially advantageous the Hero of Puerto Desafio could switch his support to anyone but Count Lewisham, whom he despises...
  20. Upkeep added. As usual let me know any issues. May-Jun Summary
  21. Great brick built flag - I love the use of the gold 'coin' in the centre. For the Royalists!
  22. sorry, fixed now
  23. May-Jun Summary - I still need to add tMRCA upkeep - hopefully that will be finished this weekend. Everything else should be gtg???
