  1. I build busses and trucks in 8 wide. Especially for the european cab design, 8 wide is easier than 7 and they still look good next to the cars. However on a layout where several people participate like on exhibitons I take care that my Mocs are not next to some 6 wide trucks. That would look silly. They also look silly next to 6 wide trains but next to 8 wide is okay. I also build trains in 8 wide. Here is link to my Scania truck: Scania B-Train
  2. @duifkelego I would take these pictures away before a mod sees them Posting prelim pics (those with watermarks like yours) is a reason to get premanently banned.
  3. It looks brickbuilt on the image. However, I would build the nose higher for an F7. For me it looks more like a streamlined crocodile loc of the german railways but with a shorter nose: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:BR193-008.jpg#/media/File:BR193-008.jpg
  4. There is this gimmick called customs as @Capparezza already said. Since everything would pass a customs office twice if the tracks would be shipped from the US to Switzerland and then to the EU it may be chaeper for the Swiss guys (well, me) but not for the ones ordering from the EU. @M_slug357 I think the opposite, however I have no experience selling stuff to the EU from the US via Switzerland. @coaster There is the Brickshop.nl who sold ME-Models track. Maybe he can help.
  5. This axle would be great, as it can be used in (nearly) every train design, also in existing ones. I guess offering such an axle next to 9V rails is a better solution than to only offer the rails. There would also be PF users who might purchase straight 9V track together with this axle. Cheap original 9V curves however are quite easy to find.
  6. Thanks for the info Unfortunatly in Switzerland, there aren't any Lego Stores. So I buy them via Bricklink.
  7. @Brick Lover said in the City 2018 thread it's on January 31st.
  8. There is Andrea's Park Performance 41334 (with a lot of imagination) at 0:45 but I think that's it. Even Stephanie' House doesn't look like Stephanie's House 41314.
  9. If only it would come motorised, but I don't know if it's possible to master such inclines without the help of a chain or a system like the old monorail.
  10. This looks like it could be built with the new rollercoaster rails and the short carriages. I also think a monorail or some sort of elevated transport system fits better in the Friends world than it would be in City.
  11. That's a quite normal procedure with winter village sets: They are only available at the end of the year (last few months), but for several years. So hopefully it will be available next autumn.
  12. "We don't have a hotel" at 0:47 and I was sure there was a building with a big "Hotel" sign on it. I would like to get a real designer video where they show the details and the minifigs, like they did with the older modulars.
  13. An impressive yet simple solution The longer I see MOCs with this new ball joint, the more I think I need to buy them in bulk. There are so many good applications for it.
  14. Nice idea and the hoppers look great, especially with the coloured ends. There must be a lot of bad boys this year
  15. I just added four pictures of trains I built with LDD to give you an idea. Since I startet building mostly with scale drawings and the right number of windows etc. I won't realise the trains like this (except for the FLIRT which I already started)
  16. Of course I can, first, you can check my Flickr stream with some Swiss Trains and secondly I'll send you a PM.
  17. I would guess an EMU means something like an ICE or other kind of trains with several "parts", like cars which are connected permanently (and are driven with electricity, the other thing is a diesel multiple unit DMU). An articulated locomotive is just an engine, but due to the length or wheel arrangement it needs to be articulated to go around curves and switches. However don't get me fixed on these definitions, maybe Wikipedia or some Railfan forums have a better description
  18. Back to your video, first it is the lenght that amazes me. I like it when trains, which are long in real life are built as long trains with Bricks. Bringing such a train to drive around is not an easy tak but the slopes the train manages to climb is another great accomplishment. I have never used any 9V motors since I grew up with Power Functions, however powering long trains only by PF is quite a challenge and becomes nearly impossible if the motors are distributet through the whole train, like you did. I wouldn't call it an EMU, but an articulated locomotive.
  19. At the moment the 5x5x1 corner/bow only comes in dark azure and red. Since the part is quite new I expect it to be produced in several other colours in the future.
  20. I skipped the last few modulars, I mean they looked nice and there were some funny details but that was it. On the Diner however I like the streamlined/Art-Deco look. It is something I'd like to build myself a long time ago maybe for a railway or bus station. So from an architectual view this is one of the better modulars for me.
  21. There is also a discussion about prices of the new sets, there are two which will cost over 300 Euros. So maybe one is a big railway station. IF it is a railway station and it is this expensive I hope that there is a quite long platform and that it fits to the modular buildings theme.
  22. Well, the video is made, but I need want to add some details on the roof like pantographs before posting.
  23. I agree with @MACIEK8791 As a child I would like the set with the net thrower and there is also play value for two since there are two cars. Perfect for some action.
  24. Thanks for this review. I hope that I can buy this set one day, however my trains also want to be stored somewhere (and some other sets which aren't built yet because of space problem) The size and piece count is amazing and since I only saw the first 6 episodes I like it that one can decide which version of the Falcon should be built. Let's hope that it is available soon.
  25. That's where I would start if I were you. Try building a ship and if you're not happy with it rebuild it. A lot of great MOCs here have started like this. It seems like you have a lot of bricks you can use for this project, if you don't sell the Star Wars and classic space stuff use these bricks. There might be some useful bricks and colours for an industrial scene like a harbour.
