My 3 meters (about 10ft) long Trans Europ Express: The whole train by StefanEris, on Flickr And then is there the longest (at least I think so) Mearsk Train of the world, with 6 Locos and 120 cars from an other SwissLUG member (not all cars belong to him but he managed to keep the train running with PF). For those who speak German: enjoy the article, for the others: yes, the train on the picture is one single train! http://www.swisslug...._2014-11-11.pdf

Hello Marc Welcome to this forum, I'm from Switzerland too. Not everyone here can claim that they kept their Legos during their dark age (However I never had a dark age). Have you already heard from the SteinCHenwelt, a Lego exhibition which takes place from the 13-17.5 in Grenchen? http://www.steinchenwelt.ch/ Regards Stefan

And now comes the improved side window on the cab. I knew it would be somehow possible to change the 2x3 black part to a panel and since I asked you at your KISS about a cab interior, I still had some place left for a chair KISS Bt v3 by StefanEris, on Flickr KISS Cab by StefanEris, on Flickr Maybe it would be possible to connect the nose the the roof so that the white bricks on the inside would be unnessecary.

Hello Ashi Thanks for your suggestions. If I ever build this train in real, the black part above the windscreen will be there to display the destination the train is running to. They are also hinge bricks, to make the front with the headlights a bit more curvy, however I made tried it now with a 1x4x3 panel. I also designed the roof for the mid-height part the same way I did for the cab cars. Here is a picture of the first two cars: KISS improved by StefanEris, on Flickr

Awesome renders of the Titanic. I also like that the ship is very detailed with rescue boats (I guess there are some) and so on.

Hello Zephyr1934 Thanks for your comment, the cars have the same lenght as my TEE cars, so they come around curves (of course there should'nt be any plants, buildings or so next to the curve).

Hello all It's been some time since EB Member Ashi Valkoinien posted his version of this train, view his topic here:http://www.eurobrick...=103708&hl=kiss I also built one, since these trains are running also in Switzerland and I use them quite regularly. Ashi's train and mine are basically the same, except for the livery, however the building technics are very different as you will seee on the pictures. As every double-deck train in Switzerland (and west-Europe I guess) the upper part of the train is kind of round and creating curves with LEGO bricks is sometimes difficult. However with the new 1 x 2 x 2/3 I managed to come up with a good solution. The front was also challenging because the SBB livery contains two red stripes which make a "V-shape" on the front but with some SNOT building it looks quite acceptable. Here are some LDD screenshots: Stader KISS cab car by StefanEris, on Flickr KISS Front by StefanEris, on Flickr KISS building technic by StefanEris, on Flickr Stadler KISS (RABe 511) by StefanEris, on Flickr There are no pantographs because they would be a pain to build with the LDD. You also might notice a small hole on the front part, thats because the 1 x 2 tile, which should be there, cannot be attached to the brick with the stud on one side. (Well, it could be attached, but only on certain positions.) Critics and comments are welcome Stefan

Train storage systems? How do you store or display your spares?
Stefaneris replied to Adamskii's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I use self built shelves, so they have exactly the lenght and height they need for my trains. The trains actually spend most of their live there because I don't really have a layout. The only time they are running in my house is when I do some test runs before an exhibiton or after I changed something on the train. -
CSX GE EMD AC4400CW 7 wide, now in dark blue! WIP
Stefaneris replied to legoman666's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The windscreen makes it look very nice. It's great to see how you captured all these angels on the nose of the locomotive. However the top grill looks a bit to wide for me, maybe 8 wide would be enough. -
Very nice building techniques, not only in the clinic but also with the chess and the wheelchair. Your pictures look like they come from a horror movie

Very impressive layout. I like how you placed the buildings, so that there aren't only 90 degree angles. And the buildings themselves are great, especially the way you built the walls (grey and white building)

I am a cheese slope, makes kind of sense since I use them a lot and in most of my Mocs they can be found

[MOC] The Apple Watch - Freebuild
Stefaneris replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
I really didn't expect this but I have to say it's a nice scene. Maybe he has to wait for the apple to fall as long as people wait in front of the apple store- 19 replies

Your City square goes well with the modular buildings. Especially with the extended ones it gives the impression to be in the middle of the city. Now you could add benches, so that the people can rest and enjoy the view to the historic houses

Thanks for sharing these very nice videos It's just beautiful to watch a high speed train running through such a track. The speed of the E 424 seems quite okay for me. Since it's an old train it doesn't have to be as fast as today's trains like the Frecciarosso or the Railjet.

Looks good so far. With all those 2x2 tiles, it seems you planned a quite tall city square. However if it is "just" tiles (even when there are some trees) I think it might look a bit empty, but that's just what I think according to your progress.

I like how you built the wings of the planes with bricks and not with "wing" parts. Also the interior looks very detailed with all the different things you can find in an airport, from check-in to boarding.

Thanks for your kind words, MusicaRibelle, Srbandrews and bjorkan. @MusicaRibelle: All of those streamliner trains (most famous probably the EMD F7) have their issues while building them. And sometimes even normal trains of today as we see with the single front piece of the new high speed train, but thats another topic

Hello This creation isn't that new anymore, however after publishing pictures on brickshelf and flickr, I think it's time to present this train here in this forum. The prototype was the RAe TEE II 1053 which is today a historic train and was used on the TEE-Network some decades ago. The train consists of 6 cars: two cab cars, two coach cars, a dining car and a motor car. This train only had first class seats and was (or maybe still is) one of the most luxurious trains of the swiss federal railway SBB. The four passenger cars in my model have each 13 seats, in the dining car there is enough place for eight passengers. The passenger cars have gender seperated toilets, the women toilet even featured a make-up table. I tried to make it look like theres a mirror in this toilet room, since there is very limited space on creating something like that. Well, now let's continue with the pictures. Cab car by StefanEris, on Flickr Cab car front by StefanEris, on Flickr Toilet by StefanEris, on Flickr Dining car interior by StefanEris, on Flickr The whole train by StefanEris, on Flickr And here is a picture of the real train: RAe TEE II in Zurich by StefanEris, on Flickr The front of the train was quite a challenge to build and I still want to make some improvements, however the parts I need don't exist (yet) in dark red. There are more pictures on flickr if you are intersted. I also have a video there:https://www.flickr.c...157633185923370 Thanks for looking and reading, critics and comments are welcome! Hello Metal rails (9V) have the advantage of using a small amount of space in the loc comapared to the PF, however as you already said, it is quite expensive - especially the straight rails. If you consider buying other new trains then you should go for PF, and with PF you can run your train on every rail type. Also, PF rails are easier to get since they are still in production.

Thanks for the links You guys have set up a really great layout and it's nice to see the trains running trough such wide curves

The shape of the locomotive is great and your cars also look very good. I really like the underframes, not everyone pays alot of attention to them.
-
I really like the round shape of the tram however I personally don't like that the tram is "only" glass from the bottom to the top. But I know that it would be quite impossible to have the shape and not only glass on a level children would buy and build it.
