  1. That's really amazing, everything is in motion so the whole scenery comes to live. I especially like the go carts with the magnets and I have some questions about it since i would like to do something similar with cars in a city: 1: Do you use another magnet under the tile? 2: What's the distance between the two magnets/magnetic piece?
  2. B&P is short for Bricks and Parts. It's something like an expanded version of Pick a Brick.
  3. You might also want to look at Creator Sets, for example the houses which provide bricks and windows. Before you buy a set I would look at the inventory, one way to do this is via Bricklink. When you have enough parts (even if they don't have the right colour) you can build your MOC and bricklink the parts you have in the wrong colour. So you only buy what you need.
  4. Ah, now I remember. It was 10 YEARS, why they made the Assembly Square, sorry had in mind it was the 10th modular.
  5. Hello If you have the money, you can buy all ten (nine without market street if I'm right) original modulars. Here is a link to Bricklink, where you can find Name, Number and so on of all the buildings.Bricklink Modular Buildings However, the retired ones are quite expensive so it might be cheaper to design an own modular building, maybe inspired by the old ones. 6. They might fit to the blueprints and be built to scale but keep in mind that the radius of LEGO Track is quite small. Especially if you use switches right after curves there may be some problem with the yellow part of the switch. You should also take care of the distance between two cars, so that they don't touch each other. Stefan
  7. Hello I often use LDD to calculate the bricks I need but I also try to build prototypes with real bricks. Since I mostly build trains (more ore less) to scale, I also use blueprints and photos to recreate shapes. Especially with hinges I like to build with real bricks to achieve angels and shapes which LDD won't let me do.
  8. They recently posted something on their Facebook page. They said that they are about to complete the shippments for ABS Backers and they want to post an update about the metal rails this week. https://www.facebook.com/memodels I'm looking forward to some good news...
  9. This is a great idea. I see this might be somewhere in the future or maybe even now an alternative for aging 9v Motors. Thanks for sharing your videos so that others can profit from your ideas.
  10. Thanks for your comments. I tried a better solution for the mirrors with the LDD, I guess it's something I could work with: Lofotenekspressen with new mirrors by StefanEris, auf Flickr And yes, this bus wasn't the final design so just imagine that the bus gets more narrow to the top
  11. Hello Building a coach was something I wanted to do for a long time, but now after several digital attempts I managed to build one with real bricks. The prototype was a Volvo 9700 from Norway. I chose this bus because I traveled two and a half years ago with such a bus on this route. The line is called Lofotenekspressen, Lofoten is a group of Islands in the North of Norway, Ekspressen means express in Norwegian. I tried to replicate the typical shape of the Volvo with the sloped windows and the curves on the front. There are also openable doors on the bus. Lofotenekspressen 4 by StefanEris, auf Flickr Just as cars in the north, also busses have additional headlights, here they are on the roof. Feel free to comment Stefan
  12. I'm quite open about my hobby, so when I meet new people and we are talking about hobbies, Lego is one of the first thing I mention. Of course, the first expression in their face is "WTF" and they think it's childish, but when I tell them a bit more, for example about my MOCs or about the whole community they are often impressed. I think people today have the picture of Lego that it is only a toy for kids and they don't know that you can do a lot more than just building sets. Also when I show them pictures from shows they sometimes hardly believe that all the models are made of only with Lego bricks.
  13. I am currently working on two trainsets, one is the highspeed train ETR 610, the other one is a regional train of the type Stadler Flirt. Both in the livery of the Swiss State Railway SBB CFF FFS. Some WIP pictures of the highspeed train can be found on Flickr: https://www.flickr.c.../in/dateposted/
  14. Of course she wants more but since only the first locomotive is powered she has to be happy with 12 cars (she isn't that strong as she always pretends).
  15. I finally managed to do a short movie of my LKAB IORE pulling 12 ore cars, unfortunatly only on straight track. LKAB IORE pulling 12 cars by StefanEris, auf Flickr
  16. Thanks Cagast and THERIZE Driving a bus without a steering wheel might be more terrible than standing I normally don't build any interior at first when I build a model because if there also have to be stairs and things like this (if there is an interior, it has to be more or less realistic for me) and I don't like to build this with LDD.
  17. Thanks for your responses I want to build it one day but maybe in another livery and at the moment there are two other projects, so it will take some time.
  18. Hello all I would like to share a coach (this time one from the street, not from the rails). The prototype was a Neoplan Cityliner in the newest version. I picked this coach because of its special look of the windscreen. I built the long version with three axles as a 8wide model with the LDD. The most difficult part was of course the curved windscreen but also the rear was a bit tricky and there is a lot of SNOT work on both ends. Now enjoy the pictures: Neoplan Cityliner 1 by StefanEris, auf Flickr Neoplan Cityliner 2 by StefanEris, auf Flickr Neoplan Cityliner 3 by StefanEris, auf Flickr Neoplan Cityliner 4 by StefanEris, auf Flickr If you want to see pictures of the prototype, take a look at this (German) site: http://www.bus-bild.de/name/galerie/kategorie/Bustypen~Reisebusse~Neoplan+Cityliner.html Stefan
  19. Great choice with the prototype My IORE has two powered axles and one axle behind which can move a bit so that it comes around curves. To power all three axles will be quite complicated because one axle should be movable, either at the end or in the middle. I placed a XL motor horizontally and made a connection with bevel gears to the boogie. You have to be careful the everything holds together, so you have to use technic bricks and pins and so on. Here are two pictures from my locomotive: IORE Motor by StefanEris, auf Flickr IORE Boogie by StefanEris, auf Flickr I hope this helps.
  20. Another amazing train from you The cars look great with their lenght compared to the locomotive. Maybe you could add a small yellow stripe on top of the train door of the first class car, also the windows of the first class car are more apart from each other than those of the second class (yes I just have to watch out of my window to see trains like this, so I know such details ).
  21. They ran out of some rails (I have the same problem as you), have you tried writing them and asking them about your order?
  22. Very realistic look, especially with the graffities. I also like the work you put into the detailed roof with all the grills and the pantograph
  23. You never have to many bricks, you just don't have enough space for them.

  24. You are right talking about the radius (well, actually you can achieve a slightly smaller radius with flex track) but maybe you could save one straight rail in lenght. BUT as marook said, the flex track have a lot of disadvantages, like beeing louder and having more friction.
  25. I see also see a problem with this adapter: The lenght of the rail will be uneven (x*16+1) due to the lenght of the adapter. So if you want to have curves with PF or a set up with 12V-PF-12V you might have some problems with the middle rail, unless you only build a straight track.
